I have small dents in about 4 of my fingernails they look like someone has put pressure on them in random places with a sharp pin end. What can this be? anyone??? Con.
dear dr hope my question find you well i have been experiencing some changes in my fingernails, the first three fingers of each hand are having a slight pitting and my fingers are showing some slight ridges,i am far from home, and i need some help, no changes in colors and there is no nail craking, the ridges are barely noticible in the sun but the pitting are like the needle head and each finger is pitted slightely like three hole in each finger, kindly tell me do i need to travel home urge
When I press the nails, it almost looks like there are two visible lines demarcating the top and bottom of the dented area, if that makes any sense. The other fingernails are all normal, and I haven't been at a manicurist or anywhere that I would be likely to pick up any infections. I did have a Kenalog injection about 6 weeks ago for allergy problems and have had a very stressful spring.
My fingernails have been getting increasingly wavy, both up-and-down the nail, and from side-to-side across the nail. They are bending and breaking very easily and I'm finding I cant use my nails for tasks I used to take for granted, Several months ago, perhaps even a year ago, i had all kinds of dents in most of my nails. I wasn't sure what was the cause of that either, but that has disappeared (for the most part), since these waves have appeared.
I have also had significant changes in my fingernails. Every fingernail, except the two pinky's developed horizontal indentations and all have dents and slight vertical ridges. My toenails have not changed. Any idea's?
like moderate pitting of the finger nails (this has been going on for the past 3 months), weaking of fingernails along with peeling of nails and itching of the pubic area - past 2 weeks(without any signs of pubic lice - but when i scratch the 'root' of the hairs have these small while things - almost like some sort of internal moist dandruff...the skin is fine though).
I have pitted nails. All 10 fingernails. I don't have any other sign and symptoms associated with psoriasis or alopecia or other diseases. Only pitted nails.
My daughters will actually ooze a liquid but mine do not. We all have pits and/or dents in our fingernails. My daughter and sister all have very bad gastrointestinal issues, stomach aches, diahreaa etc, and they get sick easily. My daughter is having biopsys done on her shin and so far they are having trouble figuring out what her rash is. Her recent biopsy has been sent to Stanford for review. I know she is being checked for lupus but would have thought they would find it by now.

they're kinda patchy nail beds, sometimes they go half white half purple and they have scratches and peeling. My two big toe nails lifted off and eventually I lost them. I have been told repeatedly by Drs that my levels were fine and it's anxiety, some have said I've got inappropriate Sinus Tachy, but you get low bp with that, mine is high.
Since the scratches are quite superficial, they tend to heal quickly within two or three days. I don't have fingernails to speak of, and I don't sleep with feather pillows or comforters/duvets, so there's no way they can show up in my sleep. My number-one worry is that these scratches could be related to an internal affliction - even though they're rather superficial, is there any chance they could be indicative of a more serious illness?
