Why is my fingernail on my middle finger starting to pull away from my skin and turn white and the bottom half is pitting and peeling? What could this be?
At the top of the fingernail, where it grows out fron the finger, is a small semi-circle of white then the rest of the finger nail is pinkish. Prior to moving to where I now live my nails all had this little area now 3 years later only my thumbs do. Can anyone tell me if this is something to be concerned about? Thanks for any help!!
After I pulled it out, it was about a 1/4 of an inch long. It looks like it is made out of a fingernail, and it is hard like fingernail material. I noticed many other people have these, but no one seems to know what they are. It is not attached to any other hair. It has its own follicle. Any ideas?
About two months ago my fingernail developed a black mark near the nailbed. It has since continued up toward the top of the nail while changing brownish now puple with the uppermost tip is turning white. I have an appointment in October.It doesn't hurt and does not appear to look fungal according to my doctor. Is October to long to wait? I read that melanoma can develop under the nail.
I have checked the photograph and from the symptoms and photograph, the possibility of terry nail is less likely because the lanula of the nails is visible. In terry nails, the fingernails appear white with a characteristic "ground glass" appearance, with no lunula (the crescent-shaped whitish area of the bed of a fingernail). It is thought to be due to a decrease in vascularity. Hence there appears a red or brown distal transverse band on the tip of fingernail.

When they are yellow they can be a bit painful if bumped. They itch and sometimes the skin peels. My nail as is grows is very bumpy now with white lines or white looking holes(not really holes, just looks that way) I thought I originally got bit by a spider, already had a round of antibiotics, didn't help. I have been dealing with this for almost 4 months and my doc says it will just go away. It actually seemed like it was gone for about 10 days then all of a sudden it was back.
One may calculate the ANC by multiplying the percentage of neutrophils (in decimal form) plus the percentage of bands (in decimal form) by the total number of white blood cells. The number of bands is usually quite low or even zero, so one may also obtain a fairly accurate ANC by leaving the percent of bands out of the equation.

So where to begin? OK.. I have been steadily losing my lunulas(fingernail moons) for a couple years. My left thumbnail lunula is almost gone. Only leaving my right thumb lunula left. The red bands at the tip of my fingernails are getting wider. They look similar to Terry's Nails but the nail beds are not white, they are pale. I've also been developing splinter hemmhorages at the tips in the red bands. I've heard red bands are due to low B12. My B12 is high.
I wrote several weeks ago about some erosions on the head of my penis. I was told it could be balanitis and possible yeast. I have been using colloidal silver spray on it and it has almost disappeared. Now, i noticed on the inside of my mouth on the inside cheek, there is some "roughness". When i looked at it, it looks like white "streaks". I looked up thrush, and when I looked at the pictures of Lichen Planus, it looks like that.
So in March this neurologist did an evoked eye test that was normal and then he did a spinal fluid tap/blood test together which showed I had 3 oligoclonal bands in the serum and 3 oligoclonal bands in the spinal fluid. The doctor told me that since I do not have 4 bands then I do not have MS. Since I read on this website that if you have the bands in your serum and matching ones in the spinal fluid you cant count them for MS.
I had a brain MRI that revealed foci white matter. The cervical MRI was unremarkable. I had a LP three weeks ago as part of MS testing. My results say 5 identical restricted bands found in both the CSF and serum. I was told this is considered negative. I thought O bands means positive. Any insight? Also, I have Antiphoslipid antibodies. Thanks!
I had a lumbar puncture a year ago, came back no O bands had white spots on mri of brain, which they said could be from migraine headaches. So he said highly unlikely, not MS. None of the symptoms have changed much in last 7 years, but then another dr. Recently said she wouldnt be surprised if my "flare ups" arer eally MS. Now,this would not be possible if spinal came back ok. Correct??? Still no diagnosis other thsn CFS and Fibromyalgia.

When I looked in a mirror, I noticed that there was a shiny white (off white, a little yellow) spot and that my gums were red, they have been hurting for about a week now. Please help! I'm 14 and want to make sure that it's something worth getting checked out before I talk to my parents about it. I really need to know soon.
