Hi, Leukonychia is white streaks or spots on the nails. Leukonychia Partialis in particular is whitening of parts of the nail. There are several types of this condition: 1. leukonychia striata is a whitening or discoloration of the nail in bands or "stria". It may be caused by cirrhosis, chemotherapy, or physical injury to the nail matrix; 2. true leukonychia is the most common form wherein small white spots on the nails appear.
Fingernail white spots: possible zinc deficiency‘. But in general, one should not expect to find a zinc deficiency when a person has only a few white spots. Because actually, a number of conditions can arise from a lack of zinc. One of the most important, which also lead to its discovery, was the stunting of growth and the lack of sexual development in adolescent boys; adding zinc to the diet brought about a rapid improvement.
You are at the age that you must quit chewing on them. Get a nice fingernail kit and trim them with clippers, smooth rough edges with a fingernail file, and then wash the equipment and your fingers well when done with your nail care. By the way, your OCD symptoms can be controlled by lots of exercise that makes you sweat, it releases tension in the body.
it will sometimes make your fingernail deformed if there is a really bad rash on your finger---and he is afraid people will think it is really gross or something. my fingernails are slightly ridged and sometimes get funny bumps---but i'm not a nail person---i play the piano, so i can't have long nails, anyway, i'm not very sympathetic if my kids tell me that something itches because i have had such severe itching my whole life and scratched off so much of my skin---some mom, huh?
In the middle of my first pregnancy at the age of sixteen, fifty-four years ago, this "thing' about the size of my little fingernail popped out at the front of my anus. I've just lived with it. But recently I've been thinking about having it removed. Have a small hemorrhoid pushing out at the side of it, and have also had outer veins in the anal area swelling and causing a lot of pain, itching, and misery. My "tag" has never caused any problem, physically or otherwise.
One day it was so bad I stuck my finger in to feal if there was an absess or something and there was white - yellow puss inside. It made me think that maybe it was an infection of some sort however I feel no pain.
Astroturf the color of my spots changes according to the background, ranging from almost black against white to bright white against dark. I don't seem to get any other colours, just shades of grey. The size and intensity does vary, however, without predictability. I'm really at a loss to explain it. If i had more intimate knowledge of the workings of the retina, I might be able to figure it out.
I am 50 year old white female and for the first time in my life, I had three scratches appear on my left breast with no explanation. It is just as the other people described. It looks like a cat scratched me (I don't have cats or any animals that scratch) and appeared suddenly while I was watching television with my husband. It began to burn intensely and was unbearable.
I can nearly always provoke an electric shock simultaneously in a small “line” (an inch or two long, it seems) above my left elbow and a similar “line” in the top of my left hand (kind of between thumb and forefinger) by pressing exactly right on the top of my left big toe, preferably with a fingernail or toenail. Wouldn’t that HAVE to be some bad wiring in my neck, since it’s a connection between a foot and an elbow/hand?
I get the burst blood vessels and, when it's cold (I live in Alaska, so that's like, all the time!) they go completely white in the fingertips of the ring and middle finger. Does everyone here with the "bursting" problem also have Raynaud's symptoms (situational white, waxy fingertips)?
As for nails growing quicker, I agree with the writer who said that its the skin under the nail coming away that makes the white part move back down the nail.
I too used a drug called ThreeLac for treating Candida. There was less problems when I was using it, but the strange symptoms reappeared when i stopped. I cannot afford to buy that drug from US as I have to pay the customs duty everytime here.I am not 100% sure that is worked but it helped upto some certain point. One more thing I observed.
but sometimes straining to go to bathroom, belching and burping, white spots in stool and yesterday a little blood in the stool. At the time I met with the gastro doctor, was asked if I had blood in stool and I hadn't then. I spoke with someone in his office yesterday and told her about the blood and she said, oh that's not natural.......scared me to death as I had a friend who died of colon cancer six years ago...
