my post was about nail ridges, i just was making a point that i injure myself daily and dont remember so im not sure if i injured my nail and caused the ridges or if its something else.
There are also various rheumatological diseases that can present with fingernail symptoms, and if suspected, various anti-antibody tests can be done as well as a referral to a rheumatologist.

I have been feeling unwell for past 2 years, started with dizziness, uncoordination, extreme fatigue. My main concern is the extreme fatigue in my arms and the fatigue which hits me all of a sudden and leaves me unwell for days.
I also noticed large bumpy horizontal ridges on my toe nails and smaller ones on finger nails.
Any ideas. i am waiting to see neurologist but this could take over a year. I have been seen by ENT consultant who has not found anything.
Ever since I can remember, on my thumbnail and big-toe nail, there has been a strange deterioration. It looks like a series of grooves in the center of the nail (see attached pictures). My fingernails aren't weak or brittle and they're not really falling off or anything. I don't think it's anything serious, but I've always been curious what it is. If anybody could help at all, that would be great.
I have read that the fingernail ridges could be due to malabsorption. That coupled with the fatty stool makes me think my liver isn't working properly and digesting the fat as it should. I have weighed the same amount since I was 16 years old, and only gained around 20 lbs when I was pregnant.
During my pregnancy, I had Intreheptic Cholestasis of Pregnancy, which is a rare liver disorder that occurs only during pregnancy, but it went away after I gave birth.

Fatigue is a common occurrence for me. It is related to neurological issues. But, you are having dry cough as well. Dry coughing and lungs can work together to cause fatigue. Breathing is interfered with when coughing and your lungs are working together to rid the lungs of whatever is ailing you.
What do the lines look like and are they colored? If you have fingernail fungus the topicals don't work. You would have to take a prescription oral drug (Lamisil) for three months then it kills the nail. I just went through this with my toe nail. The nail is usually yellowish.
Hi I just want to know what can cause some or all of these combined symptoms, Hair thinning, lost of appetite, a few dark toenails but not all of them, 1 fingernail half light pink half light brown with vertical lines no ridges, wart on ball of both feet and lately some lost of taste (I'm thinking due to thin white film on tongue) I was a Severe smoker until recently when I stopped.
For the past 9-10 months, I've been constantly feeling tired. It's not so much muscle fatigue as it is more like my brain is "foggy" and I sort of feel a bit sleepy all the time. I can't concentrate because of it. It's extremely frustrating and it affects everything I do.
I've also had a dry cough for about 6 months now. It's usually just 1 or 2 short coughs at a time (though this happens a lot throughout the day).
It is an abnormal shape of the fingernail. The nail has raised ridges and is thin and curved inward. This disorder is associated with iron deficiency anemia. The other possibility which can present with nail pitting as well thick, white, silvery, or red patches of skin is psoriasis. It is thought that psoriasis occurs when the immune system overreacts, causing inflammation and flaking of skin.
My sincere advice is to consult a dermatologist and get these two possibilities probed.
what's up with deep vertical nail ridges? and what are they a sign of? is it parathyroidism too?
I have low vit d3 levels and low thyroid. I am now being tested for parathyroid but only after insisting on it because this is the second time in the past year my vit d level dropped under 15. The bone pain in awful. This time around I have it in my right leg and thumbs, last time pain was across my upper back and thumbs as well as other bone locations on the body. Silly isn't it?
t know what could have caused this but I am extremely worried because some websites have said HIV causes fingernail fungus and black fungus is most advanced.
I had risky exposure (unprotected vaginal) and am not sure if this is causing it or what. Please help.
I kept fingering him and then I noticed some blood under my fingernail as a result of cutting him inside his anus. My fingernail had a tingle to it and when I pressed down it looked like more blood came out. I dont know if I was cut by my own fingernail and/or he was cut inside is anus. I truly believe I had a cut under my finger AND he was cut inside his anus as well and there was blood. I just sent him a text to clarify his status and he said that he is HIV+.
1-I went to ENT after my 6 weeks symptoms and he gave me gargle which did not work.
2-After 52 days of last exposure I went to another ENT specialistand I told him about my sexual exposure so he requested Sypillis and anti Hiv tests besides throat swap culture.
3- Throat swap culture shows normal streptococcus bacteria and ENT told me the result is fine.
4-Anti HIV test was non reactive and was done after 53 days of last exposure.
My fingernails are the worst and I am so very tired and weak. They are very soft and thin with ridges. I thought the synthyroid was supposed to help with these issues. Am I wrong and is something else going wrong

It is exactly the consistency of healthy fingernail material. So my guess is that the hair follicle is defective and is producing fingernail keratin from the scalp. Maybe that means simply that the normal outer sheath of the hair is wildly thicker than it should be. Any help from anyone who knows would be appreciated!

This might sound weird so please bare with me lol,threw out my mid section on my stomach and on my side are these ridges,when ever i press down i can feel them,and sometimes it gets sore,and when it does it feels like a lil ball where it hurts i kno it sounds weird but im tryna describe it the best way i kno how,and now im starting to feel ridges on my upper arm and its starting to get sore,at first i thought i was having symptoms of hiv till i got tested at 6 1/2 months and i was negative, o
This sounds strange but when I sort of push out the ridges fully come out of my vagina and block the vaginal hole. I also noticed that there seems to be a connecting bump directly under my urethra. I am sexually active but I haven't experienced any pain, itching or noticed anything abnormal down there other than occasional odor.
