I had one of my hands up close to my face as a man was rushing out of the cafe and bumped into me causing my hand to push into my face and one of my fingernails which are medium in length to cut and puncture my chin. Could this be a type of fingernail material growing from the scalp? The physical consistency of this 'hair' strongly resembles that of a fingernail. Extensive searching the net has found nothing. Am I at risk of any serious disease if I get a very mild scratch from some other man's fingernail? This happened to me a few days back while travelling in a train. Since then, I have been thinking about it and it has been causing me a lot of anxiety. Any help would be extremely appreciated.
