My 11 year old daughter has 1 hair-like growth on her scalp that is about 5 mm long and about 10 times thicker than her normal hair. It is hard and hurts if pushed or tugged on. It seems to point the same direction as the hair as it emerges from the scalp.
She just noticed it today. I'd like to identify it and find out what to do about it. I have found terms like hardened hair, sclerothrix, sclero trichosis. I have searched things like huge hair shaft and gigantic hair shaft to no avail.
I've had a growth on my right index finger, in the middle of the finger on the knuckle, started out as a blind pimple and has slowly grown to the size of my fingernail. Is quite soft but has a very dry cap and sometime small amounts of pus will be noticeable from the surface.
Been to two different doctors, second Doctor did a biopsy which came back with the conclusion:
"A granulomatous inflammatory process is seen at one end of the biopsy.
About the size of a small fingernail, a small part of skin has grown inside. My belly button is sore.

t have it on any other part and my wife has never contracted it. Fingernail and cuticle are normal but the growth remains. I should mention I have had Type I Diabetes for 35 yrs now and is well controlled. There could be an auto-immune element at work here.
s been going on for over a month peryoticly I try to dig out what feels to be a hard(like a fingernail) mass out off the wound. Hi, I am a recently divorced mother and in a moment of stupidity I had what I BELIEVED was protected sex with a one night stand almost 5 months ago. I recently found a dark red circle on the tip of my tongue. Its about half to 2/3 of a fingernail in size. It doesn't hurt, though it feels tender some times. The colour is like a darker red colour, and its surrounded by an even darker red outline. I have also had my tongue pierced for 8-9 weeks. Is this blotch related to my tongue piercing? and what is this red blotch? what should i do?
