finger swollen purple

My finger has been swollen and painful for 1week . I went to the doctor and they prescribed Sulfamethoxazole and said I have felon infection.It has puss oozing from the side of it as of today.On the top of my nail it has a purple streak and also still has puss..What should I do?

i smashed my finger with a bowling ball it automaticaly whent numb and then a severe pain ocurred for about an hour or more. but now it is extremely swollen and purple at the palm part of my finger closest to the palm but not at the tup it is numb and cold. im worried what do i do?

Got into the dr, it was an infection, first round of anitbiotics did not help, so they determined it was a resistant strain of staph infection. 2nd round helped, finger is just a little swollen now and only slightly purple.

Since then i had it washed and thinking that the pain will be gone soon but now the area is already dried but the area is still swollen and it gets purple at the area and just below my cuticle, it gets really painful if i bump that finger into something.. Any advice on this? Thank you!

Hello, My 9 yr old daughter came to me with swelling on the balls of her one foot two days ago. I looked and there were three relatively undefined redish purple spots on the center. I thought plantar warts. Today, she showed me her right index finger was swollen at the base. As I'm falling asleep, my wife tells me she also has a similar swollen spot on her breast. All spots are painful. I'm very worried and cannot find anything on the web that would link the three. Please advise.

I cut my finger (on the knuckle) some weeks back, My entire finger became swollen, with a red bump where the cut is, and both sides of the knuckle also swollen, with there being a small red rash at the base of the finger. For a long time now my left earlobe has been swollen and red/purple/black. It’s because I keep massaging it and twisting and scratching it because it feels so good and releases so much stress. I don’t see any other people having this problem. I’ve searched everywhere and it doesn’t help that medhelp keeps deleting my post.
