The next day that area was sore and swollen. It still is swollen today and still hurts when I make a fist. When I make a fist, I can tell that my hand is swollen because it feels fatter then it used to... plus hurts.
What do you think I did to my hand? Will it clear up on its own, or should I see a doctor?
Might be a good idea, just to make sure there isn't any infection. The swelling and soreness is normal.
As anti inflammatory has worn off - back to sore joint and swollen hand and fingers (not ridiculously swollen but tight when clenching fist). Can move joint but is noticeably sore. Is this arthritis or have i just pulled a tendon in this finger? Have not injured it and just woke up with the sore finger. No noticeable redness or anything else. I am 39 and in good health.
Hey, I´m working in a picking apple farm from the last 2 months, and now I´m feeling my arms really really sore. My hands and finger went swollen and my arms and nerves are really painful. I stay for many hours with my arm up to my head the whole day picking apples. I would like to now if is a muscle problem or nerves or blood circulation and what I should do to stop the pain or not have any other further problem.
I have exactly this problem. A very fit and healthy 51 year old right hand that only a week ago had a comment about my firm handshake. Now I can't shake hands, the knuckle at the top of my middle finger is sore and swollen making it difficult to both lay my hand flat or make a fist. There was no impact injury that I can think of and xrays showed nothing. I've never had gout and the only other joint issue I have is a bad knee. Any clues?
In addition now ( 4 weeks after the lancet incident) I am experiencing a sore throat and my lypmnodes above my collarbone seem swollen and also the one in my groin area. Can I lancet transmit HIV? I am a 23 year old female, with reynaud's phenomenon. Usually I suffer from very cold/numb hands, which only swell a little for maybe 10 minutes after they start to heat up. I woke up today with a very swollen index finger. I thought maybe I'd banged it, but now my little finger is swollen, too. They hurt to touch, and my hands are still cold and normal coloured. It's only on one hand - my right. I'm getting worried, now, because this hasn't happened before.

The joints at the base of my fingers are very sore and swollen and so is my wrist. I have been taking anti inflamatories, ice and tried heat with no relief. I do have an appoinment with a hand specialist but it is weeks away as they are hard to get into.
Just wondering what could be causing this and what else I can do. What are the usual treatments and is it common to have wrist pain also. The back of my hand were the fingers bend into a fist is pretty swollen at times.
I have a very annoying callus or growth on my right hand ring finger just next to the nail bed it grows to form a hard and rough chunk of yellowish skin and eventually annoys me so much that I remove it either by biting or using nail scissors! When it's the rough skin it doesn't really cause me pain but when I remove a lot of it it it tends to feel rough but soft and starts to feel swollen and sore. The same day I took a 20 day post exposure 4th gen combo test I began to get a headache and sore throat. 6 days after the headache and sore throat began, I had a fever of 39.1 degrees celsius for 24 hours. After the fever left, I developed swollen lymph nodes in my neck and armpits and red spots (petechiae) on my soft palate. Today is 7 days since these "symptoms" began. I took and insti rapid test today.
She then wanted to look over my hands saying Myositis or more correctly Dermamyositis can cause red lesions on the finger joints and knuckles and can actually get into the joint itself and destroy it. If the red bumps on your hand don't go away in a couple days I would see a dermatologist. Even if it isn't myositis or even Lupus related at least the derma will be able to tell you what it is and perhaps give you some med to clear it up.
So the first day i started having pain in my middle finger of my right hand and i thought nothing of it as each day went by it started to swell more and more now there is a huge bump on my finger that hurts if i move or touch it against anything. then today i got a similar bump on my big toe on my right foot what could this be?
Hi there- have had a swollen finger for about four days- no injury. been taking mobic and tylenol arthritis . not much improvement. went to dr. today and he prescribed me prednisione. but my bp was high and that was kind of upsetting. can an arthritic flare, if thats what it is, make your bp jump? thanks.
i had diarrhea, fever, night sweats, loss of appetite, headache, fatigue, sore throat for more than 3 weeks. I tested using a rapid finger prick test after 3 weeks and came back negative, since i assume i had all ars symptoms i continued to do more test on week 4 elisa, and western blot end of week 4, it all came out negative. after that i waited for 12 weeks and tested using Genie II Hiv 1/2 bio rad, finger prick test.. which came out negative also,Thank GOD.
