Two years later it began to turn bright red and hurt really bad. They found that I had started to grow a second finger (or bone) underneath my my finger. The best description of it would be a bone spur.
I went thru ANOTHER surgery to get the bone removed before it could really hurt me. The bone came out and measured 2 and a half inches long.

I had a lot of swelling at the end of both of my pregnancies and I had bit feet. Try to put them up which helps with swelling. While it is normal for most women, it also can be a sign of blood pressure issues. Your doctor will check this . My doctor monitored swelling. She'd put her finger into it and it pitted (imprint of her finger stayed for a bit), that was more concerning.
I'm 37wks 4 days..I'm still working but starting to get very tired. My feet and hands swell sooo bad and my hands, I can't even feel my finger tips! Has this happened to anyone? Does anyone have any suggestions?
For the problem you mentioned that your finger is pointing towards the pinky finger, there are some options like putting a brace to maintain the normal position. After a while, this brace can be removed.
Again, my advise is that you see a local physiotherapist to discuss your situation, and don't try any of the above suggestions on your own.
Yes, my fingers have been swollen this pregnancy #3. I never swelled w my last two pregnancies, ever. I haven't been able to wear my wedding ring most of this pregnancy. But my feet/ankles are normal.
First it started swelling on my index finger, with a couple of visible red dots under the skin, and then it started on my ring finger, but the swelling was different, it got swollen at one point beyond the big joint of the finger and another swelling at the smaller joint of the finger. This time the swelling was hard to the touch. Like two red dots.
And then my little finger started swelling too, but this one was different also.
My knuckle and fingertip swelled up, turned red, and was warm about 2.5 wks ago, just sore on the inner knuckle, could not find any insect bites, no injury, no hang nail. Swelling went down after several days, then it came back with a vengence with severe swelling and lots of pain but this time only in the fingertip. The pressure was so intense that I tried to drain it, I know I shouldn't have. Nothing would come out.
I fell down and perhaps the whole body weight rested on my finger, as a result of which the finger got swelling and little bent after a day followed by severe pain. The finger does not get straightened. I was advised by pharmacist to take Brufen tablets and apply some gel. i smashed my finger with a bowling ball it automaticaly whent numb and then a severe pain ocurred for about an hour or more. but now it is extremely swollen and purple at the palm part of my finger closest to the palm but not at the tup it is numb and cold. im worried what do i do?
The injury can lead to nerve damage and/or a local swelling involving the nerve. The localized swelling could be due to tendinitis or it could be a nerve tumor.
The nature of the swelling has to be found out. If the lump involves the nerve, it should be carefully removed surgically. You will also need physical therapy for a fully functional index finger.

Ok so today I have noticed when I woke up about an hour or so later my right index finger was swelling, not a lot but it was slightly pink and big and kinda burned. Anyways it freaked me it and eventually it went away but then several hours later, right now which is nighttime I noticed my left index finger started feeling the same way and surely enough it's slightly swollen barely noticeable but still noticeable.
Anyone know what this could be?

m a house painter and recently brought my hand down onto the sharp point of one of my painting tools. It cut into the side if my rt hand middle finger, middle joint (between the knuckle and the lower joint) It bled a bit and swelled up of course. That was over two weeks ago. I still have noticable swelling in that joint, especially on the rt side, and considerable pain. The rest of my hand hurts lately, probably from compensating for the lack of use of the middle finger. Any ideas?
Yeah, but keep a close eye on it. You are probably experiencing water retention. This will go away when baby is born. You will notice in the first 24 hours if your kidneys are efficient. Spent my first day with in the loo.
t put pressure on that part of my finger, i have also noticed little red dots around my hand and up that middle finger. it almost looks like a blister, the skin is stretched and shinny, but i literally have no idea what it could be. the whole tip of my finger is very stiff and hurts to bend, but this has all come on very randomly, any advise would help!
i cut my finger 3 weeks ago by the hook on the side of kayaks. The surface has healed, but looks swollen and a little sore. Do i need to see a doc? thanks.
The same thing is happening to me on my non dominant index finger. Mine hurts the worst when i wake in the am, swelling will also decrease after i am up for about an hour. Still tender and sore all day but swelling and pain subside. I am healthy 44 year old male. I can't figure this out and was surprised to find someone with the same seemingly random symptoms.
