I've had this pain under my middle finger nail for a couple years now and its excruciating....my doctor said soak it in warm water immediately after bumping it which helps take the pain away immensely. She said it is likely a raw nerve and regular soaking in warm water could help. I don't have time to sit and soak my finger often...wish there was a surgery for this. Now my finger is throbbing and in pain without even being bumped:-( at least I know its not just me now.
ve been taking a lot of anti-viral drugs, doxycycline, ultram and lyrica for EBV and CFS. A few days ago I noticed blood under my finger nail (thumb). This was not due to injury. Should I be concerned? I read this condition is a symptom of both liver and heart disease. I have an appt w/ my doctor tomorrow to discuss. Just wondering if anyone had any thoughts / explainations?
once in awhile there is hint of pain in whole area around lumps.. also seems finger nail is brittle,chippy just unhealthy nail. what does this sound like? first peasize bump is petruding from side of top joint of middle finger with second flatter bump just under nail bed. both lumps seem full of water but first peasized lump has gootten harder.

The nail has hurt and is swollen (from over a year ago) and now the whole finger is turning crooked to the left and turning down. I have pain under the nail like a splinter is there and I can straigten out my nail. I recently went to an arthritis doctor and he did a SED test and everything was alright. He said it was osteo-arthritis evev when I kept telling him my finger nail was sore and I thought there was infection under the nail.
12 hours before the fingering I clipped my nail on my thumb and I cut the nail too close to the skin and noticed slight pain but I did not see blood. This morning I look carefully at my thumb and noticed some dried blood very closed to the nail area and some slight pain as well. Some fell on my finger nails as well. The skin under my nail has turned hard and a bit yellowish color. The surrounding of my nail has turned hard as well. The burn hasnt cured yet. Im worried since its already been about 3 weeks and even though the burn seems to have dried out, it still hasnt fallen apart. somedays ago i met a fight with some of the boys of the college nd after that fight one of the boys blood came under the skin of the finger nail......i dont know how.....nd that blood was visible till the end the finger nail had grown enough to cut it down.........i want ask whether this could be a hiv transmission if the boy was hiv positive......
so ive been getting tiny red dots under skin on my finger tips. also tiny blisters like one or two on my finger tips and peeling sore skin on finger tips and palm. my fingers and the skin under some of my nails is peeling. also my thumb nail is going crazy. its pitted and where the nail meets the skin underneath its become like its broken. where i can push way inside the nail on one side. here is a pic of nail.

The symptoms are suggestive of fungal infection of the finger as well as nail. In onychomycosis(nail fungal infection) nail plate can have a thickened, yellow, or cloudy appearance. The nails can become rough and crumbly, or can separate from the nail bed. There is usually no pain or other bodily symptoms, unless the disease is severe. To prevent it wear gloves while working on people having fungal nail infections and do not share hand towels with them.
t happen in any other finger and i let it go, and nothing wrong happen and the nail continue to grow normally ,,, and from 3 days i discover another yellow spot is growing under the nail of the same finger it is small ,, but now i am scared to death bec i read that those that start from under the skin is due of having a bad immunity system due to HIV !!
He had a mishap with a machine and it ended up slicing through his index finger, under the nail. The nail was ripped off and part of the upper nail bed (in the body of the finger itself) is exposed.
He put the nail back into place, however the nail bed (?) is still exposed. Should he go to a doctor and get stitches for the injury?

After she left a few minutes later, I washed my hands thoroughly. Being somewhat paranoid however, I took the finger nail of my left hand to clean under the finger nails I had used on her in order to clean under the nail. I did this so rigorously that I created a small bleed under the corner of one finger nail that had been using on her.
Recently, it stopped growing in size, the finger swelling and the pain both decreased significantly, but the black skin around the nail became more dark in color and VERY HARD.
I am not sure if this black hard tissue will heal without treatment as the doctor said and it is a normal thing to happen or I should revisit him.

ve noticed that the nail bed (and subsequently the overall length of the nail) of my ring finger on the left (guitar fretting) hand has gradually shortened. I believe that the trauma of fretting notes has introduced a stress point between the edge of the nail bed and the meat of the tip of my finger. This, in turn, is causing the nail to "uproot" from the nail bed. Currently, the nail bed on my left hand is approximately 2mm shorter than the nail bed on my right hand.
