Avatar f tn I have been suffering chronic pain in my neck for over two years with shoulder muscle tightness and pain, I also have arm pain with finger numbing. I have been diagnosed with tennis elbow, carpal tunnel syndrome and bulging disc c5-6. My Doctor has treated my symptoms with medication, trigger point injection (shoulder) as well as acupuncture and cortisone injection to my elbow. To date nothing has helped with the pain and numbing. What are my options?

Avatar m tn There is a point in there that if I press with my finger I feel a really bad pain. Actually, if I slide my finger pressing against the bone and below the biceps, from the medial epicondyle up to the upper arm, there is a point where I feel a sharp pain. See photo here https://imgur.com/a/uTUWF. How did it manifest the first time? It was september / october, in that period I was climbing twice a week. I climbed for the entire summer without any kind of problem.

Avatar n tn I'm only 9 weeks pregnant and am starting to experience sciatic pain. It's excruciatingly painful and is already affecting my everyday life. Is it normal to experience sciatica this early in pregnancy? And what can I do to alleviate the pain?
Avatar n tn I have a nodule on my left palm, under my little finger, just above the crease at the palm. There is a clear swelling in the area obvious on touching and is sensitive to pressure. Gripping things tightly or pressing the nodule causes pain. I do not appear to have any limitations in mobility of the finger at the moment although there are the few occasional moments when I have felt some discomfort while typing.
Avatar m tn So recently I've been having some increasing cracks and weird feelings and some pain whenever I do any exercise that requires pressure on my right elbow. I don't go to the gym but I have P90-X. I'm also on the computer for 4-6 hours daily for work, school, and some gaming. I was thinking it could be from working too hard or being on the computer to much.
Avatar n tn It can be treated with resting the affected elbow during pain episodes, application of ice to reduce inflammation, taking pain medications and regular exercises to restore its function. You have mentioned that you had three cortisone injections but did not mention about your exercises schedule or the follow-up details with the doctor. If you are experiencing pain after being comfortable for 10 years since having your cortisone then consulting the doctor will be the right decision.
Avatar m tn I have ongoing symptoms of both tennis and golfers elbow as well as a tight tricep with pain and tightness extending to my back. I was told by an osteopath that my spine was being pulled to one side due to the the tightness originating in the elbow. I've visited a physiotherapist as well as an osteopath to seek relief however this is just placing a band aid on the problem, with only temporary relief if anything being achieved.
Avatar m tn To find this area you will have to poke around, as it is not the same location where you feel the tennis elbow pain. Its called refereed pain. Then sleep with it strait, put some sports elbow guard on backwards, then you can bend at night. Also feel for a trigger point in your bicept or tricept, push in deep, it will hurt at first but instant relief will occur in the elbow pain. been there done that!
Avatar n tn I live in the Washington, D.C. area and would like to try platelet injections as a treatment for tennis elbow. Georgetown just finished clinical trials but I can't find a doctor who will administer this as a treatment. Is it still experimental? How can I find a physician who uses this procedure?
Avatar n tn Hi,most probably it is lateral epicondylitis(tennis elbow). Please consult Ortho surgeon for evaluation and treatment Good luck and bye!
Avatar f tn For over a month now I have been having pain in my forearm. It started at the elbow as if I have hit the funny bone up to my wrists which have felt like burning, squashed and aching. My fingers feel like they are being crushed and can get tingly and feel spongy little, ring, middle but can also feel index and thumb. If my hand wants to cramp and have felt it along the outside of hand as well as along my palm side between index and thumb.
Avatar m tn Oh, and the CTS dx was based predominately on the tingling/swelling of my index and middle finger and wrist pain. Nerve conduction study showed slight impairment, but not sginificant. That was some 7-10 years ago. I am wondering if that and the tennis elbow dx a couple of years later could actually have been related to what is going on now.
Avatar f tn I've been getting back pain allot it may seem silly but try a tennis ball. My mom used it on my back just roll it around and apply a little bit of pressure.
Avatar f tn hi doc: i hope this may be of some use to you. I had one client who kept grinding her teeth at night and hated the mouthpiece her doc gave her to try. She was pretty open and willing to try some "creative" techniques. I asked her to keep a nerf ball about the size of a tennis ball (the tennis ball is too hard to work well) by her bed and as she was going to sleep to start squeezing it nice and slow with her breath in rhythm.
Avatar m tn I now work out almost everyday playing tennis, weight training, swimming and riding a stationary bike. I captain two tennis teams and play almost every day. After seven pain free years, after a tennis lesson that involved constant running on an outdoor court and turning and twisting, I have not been able to get rid of constant pain inside my other knee. I tried megadoses of ibuprofen which did help but which I don't want to take daily, resting it, not resting it and it continues.
