773646 tn?1239225659 Hi to all - w/ greetings to my friend Khiba - I have tried Lyrica and had a reaction of involuntary jerking. I didn't have tremendous results with neurontin, but it did help at high doses. I'm currently involved in the vicious trap of narcotics, but have MS as well as Sys. Sclerosis so have joint pain that's really bad on top of the MS pain. Also osteoporosis and spinal problems causing pain.
Avatar f tn Thank you, I did go see a hand surgeon and he acted like I was wasting his time. He looked at my x-rays and thats it. Said to do Physical Therapy, and if not better come back in 6 weeks. I still can't bend my index finger, and it is 1 & 1/2 times the normal size, and my hand swells after using it for a while, nad my finger gets very warm, and looks like it's gonna pop. It has been over 6 weeks since this happened and still no pain relief.
Avatar f tn Reconstruction surgery. Severe ulnar nerve pain in the little finger and ring finger 24-7. I have had 3 nerve blocks which did nothing. Taken all nerve meds normally used for this condition with little relief. Currently take 250 mg of lyrica. Might reduce throbing a little. I only take hydrocodon after PT and extreme pain shuts me down. I had additional surgery to relocate the nerve. Did not help. I sleep an hour or two at a time. Best relief is standing with arm hanging.
Avatar m tn I recently went to the doctor for pain in my shoulder, arm and ring finger and pinky finger feeling like they are asleep all the time. I am no longer able to close index finger to the finger next to it. I have lost strength and control in my fingers indicated. The pain in my shoulder is getting sever. The doctor looked at both shoulders and said that I have muscle atrophy in the shoulder and arm. He said that it could be something soft tissue causing nerve intrusion.
1330514 tn?1277071512 Is there any relief other than surgery? Does surgery help alleviate the pain, or does it take care of it altogether? All responses are welcome and appreciated. I am a walking 'mess of a 36 yr old"!

Avatar n tn I can only bend the finger half way and it feels like my hand is on fire. I now have pain in my ring finger too which I did not before surgery. The dr said he sees no reason for this and that I should continue the pt. I'm not sure he believed me when I told him how much my finger and hand hurt but he did offer some pain relief meds if I wanted them. I decided to just go with Aleve which really only takes the edge off. Anyone experience this and now back to normal.
Avatar n tn My right index finger has been swollen for a month now. the knuckle is painful to the touch, but i'm able to bend it. Any ideas what it could be?? Thanks for any help!
Avatar n tn If you have a broadbased disc bulge both hands can be effected.Usually there is arm aching/pain anytime with radiculopathy. Carpal Tunnel also starts while sleeping and effects both hands-usually one more than the other. You would need EMG testing and an evaluation of your cervical MRI to see if that is the cause. Pinky finger doesn't go numb with either condition.
Avatar f tn On Monday felt a little pain and discomfort which gradually increased through Tuesday and still experience pain and discomfort on wednesday. When mouth is closed there is no pain. When moving jaw from side to side, no pain. I experience tthe pain and discomfort when opening my mouth. II also noticed my face get a little puffy on that side on Tuesday. Do think my jaw is broken, dislocated, or just bruised?

Avatar f tn * If you have advanced liver disease - you should not take any NSAID pain relieves. Such as Advil, Aleve or Aspirin. The recommend pain killer is Tylenol/acetaminophen only for people with advanced liver disease. No more than 2,000 mg a day. Loritab is is an analgesic (painkiller) combination containing acetaminophen and hydrocodone used to relieve moderate to severe pain. Hydrocodone is a narcotic and is habit forming.

Avatar f tn The first thing they need to figure out is if you have nerve pain or muscle pain or both. For muscle pain it would be muscle relaxers like Baclefin or Zanaflex or something similar. For nerve pain in the states they use Gabenpentin which is a seizure medicine or Lyrica or Trileptal. Or sometimes anti depressants such as Amitryptoline. For headaches they use Topamax as a preventative. I take Immitrex for my migraines.
Avatar f tn was just wondering what type of pain relief everyone uses or plans on using during labour...
370181 tn?1595629445 Hi there, It sounds to me like you need to find another doctor or a pain management clinic who will work with you on finding the best pain relief options, including careful use of opioids. It seems to me you've exhausted all other options and your research is solid. If it were me, I would "fire" the doctor who refuses to treat you as a partner in your own treatment.
Avatar f tn Hi, I live in the UK and was wondering if anyone can help me with pain relief. I know you cant take ibroprufen, aspirin and are limited to paracetamol.
