I fell at a baseball game around 6 weeks ago, I fell on my hand and fingers were bent back under me. I had x-rays done and have 2 small fractures in Pinki finger, However, My pointer finger 2ND joint is twice the normal size, skin keeps peeling off, and I can't fully straighten it out. Also, the back of my hand and palm swell when I use them for a period of time. The pain in my hand is about a 6 on pain scale. I have been to the Dr. twice now. I ice it and massage it as best I can tolerate.
For the last two nights he has had a lot of pain in his right pointer finger. it only hurts at night time.
I stubbed my finger playing with my dog. My pip joint on my pointer finger is in slights pain when I apply pressure or bend it to a certain extent. There is no swelling, redness, or bruising. It does feels stiffer than usual but isn’t in pain if I hold it still. I’m wondering if this is something I need to get checked out or will it heal on it’s own.
What I need to know if anyone has this, if you can take your pointer finger from your right hand (or left) and push on the fingers that are affected, do you have resistance.
I have numbness in both hands, and I can take my pointer finger and press against my thumb and my pointer finger (on opposite hand) and there is resistance. My middle finger is starting to have less resistance and then my ring and my pinky finger has no resistance.
I also have toes that are numb as well.
I fractured my pointer finger on my left hand 3 weeks ago. Instead of going to the doctor, I let one of the xray techs at work xray me and then I splinted my own finger. Now, 3 weeks later, I can't bend my finger and it is extremely painful. My Aunt, an Orthopedic Surgery Nurse, is suggesting surgery....
This then presses on the nerve which then causes a pain right up to the elbow. Thumb and pointer finger are first to be affected. Often proper working style, working without bending wrist, using smooth movements to operate the mouse and key pad, and relaxing the joints of finger, wrist and arm in between helps. A wrist support or arm support too helps and you have computer chairs with support for your spine and arm.
I live in Michigan so when the cold came around in November, my right hand has started doing something strange. My right pointer finger now turns white and goes numb whenever I step outside. Now you may think I just need to wear gloves, the thing is that this occurs with even holding a cold class. My friends call me ET because it's so white it almost glows. I asked my doctor and he said that it's nothing to worry about, I want a second opinion...
It first occurred on the left hand, in a small triangle shaped cluster, and now it is appearing in a similar shape on the right hand pointer finger. It causes no pain, and they do not turn white when I press on them. They are very tiny, and at first I thought my finger was dirty, or had a contact rash. But after washing, and manipulating the skin on my fingertip, i can see they are under the surface of my skin.
What can this be?
My skin starts out with a small brown coloration on my thumb and/or pointer finger. Then it opens and peels. My whole thumb and pointer finger and part of my palm is now peeling. Totally resistant to any cortisone creams or moisturizers. My Dermatologist doesn't know what it is. My fingers and palm won't stop peeling. I am a 57 yr old male, weight 230, 6'2".
A few weeks ago my finger got smashed in a door at work and ive come to the conclusion that i damaged my nerve in my finger. It is my right hand pointer finger so i use this finger all the time, im trying not to as much as possible because it starts to hurt a lot and by the time i get to work that finger is in alot of pain. Is there anything i can do so it doesnt hurt so much??
There is a history of arthritis in my family, both rheumatoid and osteo. The finger has also had a slight knot on the pointer finger side of the last knuckle. I have had pain something like this before, but not as bad. The finger is almost unusable. I have taken 400mg of ibuprophen to decrease the pain. Thank you for your time.

I have osteoarthritis - This is directly linked to guitar playing and the fingers I use most are the ones that are most visibly affected. I also get this kind of pain with doing anything too much with a specific finger, say using my pointer finger to control my laptop mouse pad.
My fingertips on my right hand have severe pain. It started in my pointer finger. I thought it might be ingrown fingernail so I used fingernail clippers to get it out(with no success of seeing signs of ingrown fingernail).. well each day i woke up it was in a different fingertip. This lasted about a week and went away. It came back a few weeks ago but much worse. All my fingertips are sore, but the severity of it moves every couple days to a new finger.
It has been three months since the injury and the pain is still the same. It hurts when I hold my finger and move it side to side and up and down and also when pressure is applied. It also hurts between the knuckle and the beginniing part of my finger when pressure is applied. Also it hurts on my knuckle when pressure is applied. Should I get it looked again right away?
Both my middle knuckle and the knuckle on my pointer finger still looks enlarged.

Its my middle finger on my right hand and its swollen on the side closest to my pointer finger, its even a little red. As far as I can remember, I have never injuryed it. I use to be a package handler at FedEx Ground. I loaded the tractor trailer trucks but the last three months Iwas there, which ended last month, I was on light duty.
Also, pain and swelling on the outside down low between thumb and pointer finger. It hurts to use it but she can pinch her finger and thumb together in a circle. We iced it last night and saw an orthopedic doctor today. The swelling has come down a bit. She xray-d it and said that she either broke it through the growth plate at the base of the thumb or sprained it. So she put a thumb splint on it and said she can do anything she feels up to doing...gymnastics, soccer etc.
My daugher got hit this past summer in the hand, in the area fatty between her thumb and pointer finger. It was swelled and very stiff. Our family Dr. said said it was just inflammed. Ever since that area gets sore and will swell up when she is hitting. I was told that there is a thumb brace guard that she could wear WHILE she is batting, to protect her thumb area. Where would I find something like this? I have checked online and can't find anything.

You know how to make the OK sign with your thumb and pointer finger?...Well bring the pointer finger down inside the base of the thumb as far as you can continuing to create the circle.
Now, take the pointer finger of your other hand pointing toward you, bent slightly and stop when the first knuckle reaches the top of your curved pointer finger.....there will be some room behind the pointer inside the circle....
s rest just to find that I have a sore on my left pointer finger. Its mid-point on my finger preventing me from bending it all the way. When I attempt to bend my finger it hurts like crazy, this feels almost like a hair bump on the inside of my hand. Very uncomfortable. This bump doesn't have a head to it like other bumps I've experienced in the past.
and the using your other hand make a circle with the right pointer finger ( as if giving the ok sign)- slip the left pointer finger into the circle...you will notice some space around the finger..//slowly rotate the left finger left..until pointing away from you. Notice the space in around the finger disappear....this is what happens with a retro flexed odontoid....now add into that the cerebral tonsils..and to say mild Chiari drives me crazy...
