About three weeks ago I noticed that my ring finger, middle finger and my index finger were somewhat difficult to move. I noticed that those fingers would not spread apart like the fingers of on my other hand and when those three fingers were spread as far as i could get them they would not move at all towards the direction right. Within about a week of that I realized my hand no loner was straight and sunk downward in the middle on the backside of my hand.
I was pulling open my cars jammed ashtray, it was stuck so I pulled harder and my 2 fingers....
It has been three months since the injury and the pain is still the same. It hurts when I hold my finger and move it side to side and up and down and also when pressure is applied. It also hurts between the knuckle and the beginniing part of my finger when pressure is applied. Also it hurts on my knuckle when pressure is applied. Should I get it looked again right away?
Both my middle knuckle and the knuckle on my pointer finger still looks enlarged.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
I hit the side of my hand where the little finger is with a door very hard 5 weeks ago while playing with my kid, I fell down and my hand hit the door, when that happened it did not hurt much, it moves fine, but now after 5 weeks it is hurting more, when I pull the little finger back my hand hurts, and now the pain is going a little up my arm between my hand and the elbow, it worries me, shouldn't the pain be gone by now, it didn't almost hurt at the beginning, could it be a fracture?
Last year in July I hurt my ring finger on my right hand. It was due to catching a ball which struck the finger. I had pain throughout the finger, couldn't bend the joint closest to the finger nail. Xrays were taken at the ER and they suspected a crack on top of the joint that is located above the knuckle and also to the inside of this same joint (facing the middle finger). I did see my family doctor a week later and another xray was taken.
I fell down and perhaps the whole body weight rested on my finger, as a result of which the finger got swelling and little bent after a day followed by severe pain. The finger does not get straightened. I was advised by pharmacist to take Brufen tablets and apply some gel. As long as the tablet was taken for 3-4 days, the pain was not there.But no sooner the tablet was stopped, the pain again started.
I got X-Ray done of my finger and consulted an Orthopaedic Surgeon.
When there is a capsular injury to a joint in finger, it is best to give the RICE treatment for a few days such as rest, ice application, compression bandage (you can strap the injured finger with the neighboring finger) and elevation (keep hands elevated on a pillow at bed time). You can also take an anti-inflammatory pain killer. Once the injury settles down and there is less pain you have to start physiotherapy.
So, I've been having some annoying pain in my right ring finger on the under side. I want to say it feels like a really bad paper cut or being poked with a ton of little needles. I don't know if I did anything to it, it tends to hurt more with use, but only on the underside.

Hi there- have had a swollen finger for about four days- no injury. been taking mobic and tylenol arthritis . not much improvement. went to dr. today and he prescribed me prednisione. but my bp was high and that was kind of upsetting. can an arthritic flare, if thats what it is, make your bp jump? thanks.
My index finger has chronic pain when it is exposed to cold temps. or if my circulation is lessened in that arm. It's just that finger and only at the finger nail, cuticle area. The feeling is similar to getting it smashed into something. Also, when no pain is present, if I hit it ever so slightly on something, it might as well have been smashed in a door, the feeling would be the same!

I found a little speckle on my finger today and it just like blood.There's no wound which can be seen by eyes near the speckle.But there's a desquamation near it and i'm afraid that it will cause some skin injury that i can aware about it,although there's no pain and there's no blood-exudation,if there's a little injury,will i infect hiv?

A little over a week ago I was playing catch with a friend and the ball hit my ring and little finger on my right hand. I had a lot of pain in my ring finger and headed to the ER. The doctor said there could be a crack in the joint above the knuckle and slightly towards the side. She splinted it and suggested follow up with the family doctor. I did see him, he took an xray and said yes it is cracked but suggested I use buddy tape and move the finger.
Not too long after the injury I developed a lump/bump on the inside of the PIP joint tha faces anatomically towards the middle finger, clicking sensation in this bump area when bending the finger, pain when bending and now pain into top of hand. Also tingling feeling in lump area.
Finally after 9 months after the injury my family doctor referred me to a sports medicine doctor. He took an xray and you could see a lump on the inside of the PIP joint. Not huge but visible on xray.
