Back in january this year (2011) I broke the end of my left pinky finger. The first surgery was a disaster, the finger was now dislocated! The 2nd surgery (july 2011 at a different hospital!) was a arthrodesis of my left pinky end joint to fix the dislocation (the fracture healed on its own). Now I have a pin in my finger. The pin is only visable on an x-ray as it is internal.Will this type of pin be removed? If so when/how?
The therapy had only just begun (splint came off, 2 weeks post operation) and my insurance cut me loose. My finger had about 10% movement ability at that time.
I ended up having to hold my finger down forcibly for a week to get its movement back. I was able to bring it back to about 90%. Shortly after I started noticing pain in my finger accompanied by random tingling and sharp shooting pains.
This morning I woke up with the urge to have a bowel movement with increasing abdominal pain. The pain got so severe that I was in a cold sweat, and felt like passing out. The pain wasn't relieved with the bowel movement, and I started to vomit. The other thing that happened is that my hands went numb, and I couldn't move my fingers on both hands. I have had simular pain associated with the bowel movements before but nothing this severe.
I have treated twice for Hep C once for 15 mo standard Interferon and Rib, second time for 7 mo with addition of Alinia stopping Jan of 09. I have severe loss of finger joint movement in both hands. started 3 or 4 months after final treatment. My ortho guy doesn't see any structural damage or signs of arthritis .Could there be tie to the Hep C or treatment??
The numbness, tingling and pain over palms, pain can extend to the elbow and interfere with finger movement with weakness of grip. This might sound crazy but does anyone get sharp pains in ur belly button. Like someone is jamming a finger I'm there. Its an awful felling. I'm one 18+4 haven't felt hardly any movement yet. But I was wondering is things growing or just a weird feeling.
I have been experiencing rectal pain ( it feels like someone is taking there finger and pushing on the side wall of y rectum a few inches inside). The pain is very concentrated. I had some sensation of pressure on my anus like I need to have a bowel movement. I have also had lower back pain and a dull ache at my tail bone. The pain/budge seems to come and go.
put your hand on your other shoulder, and move that arms middle finger, you can feel movement in the area up there.
were you working outside in that cold, or something injured that fingers nerve?
I pinched my finger once and it took about a month for the nerve to heal, wasn't painful, just couldn't feel anything.
hello, my question is regarding my son's baby finger. we have noticed that his baby finger moves. We thought at first it was a nervous habit. Now it seems like the whole hand is involved. We have asked him if he feels he can stop it. He says he likes to do it. But, we believe he just is not sure what we are asking him. He is six. Our son otherwise is healthy. We have not seen our primary doctor yet.
I also have the same thing going on at the same time with my left upper arm (not left joint or neck) but it is just an ache, I have free movement and the left side is not causing pain, just an ache, sometimes I will wake through the night and my ring finger and little finger will feel numb and tingly in my left hand.
The patient feels pain or discomfort and restricts movement. Then there is more pain. Common sense says that pain means to stop moving the limb, but that is the wrong thing to do. For the last two months I have been suffering from rectal pain and occasionally I get mild irritation and pain after urinating I have normal bowl movement, once a day. There is absolutely no pain when I get up in the morning, it started only after the passing stools and never goes off till I go to sleep. I had k-wire removed 10 days back from the index finger and middle finger of my right hand. However, both my fingers are very stiff, bent and swollen. There is hardly any movement in both of them. I have been doing physiotherapy (3-4 times a day for last 4 days).
1. Is this stiffness normal? I feel extreme pain as I try to straighten them

Last year in July I hurt my ring finger on my right hand. It was due to catching a ball which struck the finger. I had pain throughout the finger, couldn't bend the joint closest to the finger nail. Xrays were taken at the ER and they suspected a crack on top of the joint that is located above the knuckle and also to the inside of this same joint (facing the middle finger). I did see my family doctor a week later and another xray was taken.
