m a house painter and recently brought my hand down onto the sharp point of one of my painting tools. It cut into the side if my rt hand middle finger, middle joint (between the knuckle and the lower joint) It bled a bit and swelled up of course. That was over two weeks ago. I still have noticable swelling in that joint, especially on the rt side, and considerable pain. The rest of my hand hurts lately, probably from compensating for the lack of use of the middle finger. Any ideas?
I'm 28 and I have joint pain in my finger joints and I feel it in my wrists sometimes too. And in the digits of my feet (I think).
I have no RF in my blood and the doctor said just take Ibuprofen.
I am slightly over weight because of bulimia.
I've had gluten sensitivity problems (makes me sluggish and hungry).
AND labyrinthitus in the past months.
No thyroid problems. Not diabetic.
Feeling it might be Fibromyalgia ?

Bend and extend the finger at the joint slowly to a range of motion possible without pain. Slowly increase the range of motion. With time the stiffness will go. You can also consult a sports injury center.
Other possibilities are arthritis-rheumatoid, injury, inflammation of the sac of joint, finger prick, insect bite, allergy or contact dermatitis to something, tendon injury or inflammation, clot in blood vessel, infection of the skin or pulp of the finger etc.
any amount of swelling in a small joint such as a finger joint can cause quite a bit of discomfort. It sounds like you "jammed" the joint(s). It can take a long time to resolve. Like 6-9 months. You could try soaking it in hot water to loosen things up and try to pull and put tension on the finger to loosen up the joint. Pull the finger slowly, steadily, and gently straight out. I have found this can help loosen it up and relieve some pressure in the joint.
Does persistant joint pain during tx warrant concern over post tx joint problems?? RA?? Anyone know WHY peg causes jont pain. My pain is worst the nite after shot nite then slowly decreases until starting the cycle again. It seems to be getting somewhat worse as I go along (in week 19 now). Shold I be alarmed?? thanks.
Hurts to squeeze tightly, shake someones hand, and definitely cannot move the finger side to side. Moving the finger back toward the back of my hand doesn't hurt though. NSAIDS help only a little, but they tear my stomach up. Weird thing is that hot water makes it feel about 85% better instantly every time. Ice doesn't help much. Anybody have any clue what is wrong and what I can do to fix this?

My finger was then about the same size as my pinky, and seemed like it had a 'shrinking' effect, due to the fact all my other fingers were growing and my ring finger was not. I don't remember much about what the doctors said about it, as it was 8 years ago.

i have had aching cramp type pain in my left and right hands for 5 weeks now, after 2 weeks the middle joint in my 3rd finger left hand felt like it had something in it, tight for a bit when i get up in the morning lasts about 5 minutes or so still have full movement can feel slight tenderness when i press on it. or i feel tension on it if i make a fist, no visible swelling and dosent look red or anything.

The exact location of the injury would be the middle pinkie joint that is right along side the ring finger. This happened two months ago, I haven't been to the hospital yet because this is a common injury in the trade. So far the swelling subsided barely, but there is a small lump on the inside of the pinky. It hurts (9/10) when any pressure is presented. I have decided to buddy tape the finger for the past 2 days. I have to admit there is a lot of discomfort and some pain(3/10).
