Avatar f tn This summer my doctor diagnosed the shocks of pain through my right hand has Carpel Tunnel. I live in Michigan so when the cold came around in November, my right hand has started doing something strange. My right pointer finger now turns white and goes numb whenever I step outside. Now you may think I just need to wear gloves, the thing is that this occurs with even holding a cold class. My friends call me ET because it's so white it almost glows.
Avatar m tn Three months ago i cut my pinky & ring finger on a saw , surgery was completed & been going to physio for two months to get mobility in the fingers where they had to re-attache the tendons , that stretching is going well but the swelling on back of hand--palm of hand & fingers are giving me a problem , i've been working through that issue(soaking hand from hot &cold water)(wearing compression gloves)(wrapping the hand)(wearing a splint)(arm elevated) (massage) & now anoth
Avatar m tn but now it is extremely swollen and purple at the palm part of my finger closest to the palm but not at the tup it is numb and cold. im worried what do i do?
Avatar m tn You may have severely bruised the bone, or fractured it by the force that went on the hand as you landed. An xray of the hand would be able to show whether you have caused damage to the bone. In the meantime strap the middle finger to the two either side to immobilise it. You can apply a lot of natural yogurt to that part and lightly bandage it. This helps by drawing out the inflammation. Keep your weight off that hand too until it is fully healed.
Avatar m tn My index finger has chronic pain when it is exposed to cold temps. or if my circulation is lessened in that arm. It's just that finger and only at the finger nail, cuticle area. The feeling is similar to getting it smashed into something. Also, when no pain is present, if I hit it ever so slightly on something, it might as well have been smashed in a door, the feeling would be the same!
Avatar f tn But I still have numbness in the pinky finger and it feels cold compared to other 3. Also tip of the pinky finger hurts a lot and I see a tiny red spot on the nail. What exactly is going on? I have sensation and i can also move that finger. Its just the tip that hurts.
Avatar m tn was interesting to read your article, i sometimes get my right hand that goes freezing cold, and i get numbness in the tips of my figers, and shooting pain up my thumb. i have just been diagnosed with peripheral neuropathy, i have the problem in both feet and hands, which they call glove and sock syndrome, may be interesting if you have just the glove syndrome. it does sound to me, although i am not a doctor, it is from the nerves, neuro, or circulatory.
Avatar n tn Maybe it may be because you aren't used to cold weather and your finger is reacting to it
4305583 tn?1352519808 It broke te skin but never bled, since that time my finger has become swollen, the skin continues to peel from the finger. If I am in the sun the finger feels as though it is on fire, if it gets cold the pain is unbareable.
Avatar n tn i have a sharp pain in my left hand on the ring finger between the joing and teh nail bed on the inner top corner by the middle finger. that finger is very sensitive to even hair touch when i shower. when its cold or i use cold water it is very painful, it wakes me up in the middle of the night and that pain even makes me cry and i am 31 yrs old. a dr had told me it was like a small tumor so he made a small incision and cut a little part of the nerve well thats what he said..
Avatar n tn because i have a cold rite now, and its pretty bad (sore throat, green pleghm) if i fingered my girl, and i licked my finger, and finger her again, will any cold bacteria or anything like that be transferred to her? what will happen?
Avatar m tn Should I move on. My wife too has cold and throat pain. Have I given this virus to her also?
Avatar n tn I have this recurring throbbing, hot, sharp pain in the corners of my nail beds. it travels from one finger tip to another lasting a couple days in one then seemingly disappearing then showing up in another. Typically it will affect two to three fingers per episode. Currently it is in the corner of my right thumb and my left big toe. It started a couple years ago and will happen 1 to 3 times per year. Any ideas?
Avatar m tn This is due to me constantly hitting hard surfaces. i have no pain in that particular finger or knuckle or any part of the hand but i cant fully raise my right ring finger. It gets to about half way and i cannot raise it anymore unless i force it up with my other hand. Apart from that i have full use of my right hand and no pain in or around the knuckle or finger. Any ideas whats wrong??
1157646 tn?1343967128 Either heat or cold can help - you will need to try to see which is best for you. Ibuprofen may help and try upping your intake of Omega 3's (fish oil capsules, salmon, trout, Omega 3 eggs).
1477817 tn?1287344984 I had major surgery to remove a tumor that was found in the c6 c7 vertebrae on the spine. I had an amazing surgeon and he was able to remove the benign tumor but had to cut most of the c7 and part of the c6. The tumor also was on the dorsal root and was wrapped around the long thoracic nerve and he was able to split the nerve so I have motor function but lost the pain and feeling was amazing!
Avatar f tn You need to get it xrayed immediately. Apply a cold compress to the hand and arm. If you have cold natural yogurt you can apply that and wrap it loosely. Wrap the hand and arm lightly with a bandage or a towel so as to support the hand arm and ask your mom to tie a triangular bandage (if you haven't got one use a T-towel or towel) to help support the arm and keep it elevated. Will you be punching any more walls in the future? Best to punch a pillow, it's less painful!
Avatar m tn The other possibility is Scalene Myofascial Pain Syndrome. When scalene muscle is the cause of pain, the pain is referred chest, inner lining of scapula, shoulder, posterior and lateral sides of the arm right up to the thumb and index finger.
Avatar f tn Reconstruction surgery. Severe ulnar nerve pain in the little finger and ring finger 24-7. I have had 3 nerve blocks which did nothing. Taken all nerve meds normally used for this condition with little relief. Currently take 250 mg of lyrica. Might reduce throbing a little. I only take hydrocodon after PT and extreme pain shuts me down. I had additional surgery to relocate the nerve. Did not help. I sleep an hour or two at a time. Best relief is standing with arm hanging.
Avatar n tn The pattern of your pain resembles heart pain. Heart pain can go along entire left arm toward the small finger. It is related to exercise, stress, cold. Quite reliable diagnosis is by trying nytroglicerine tablets right after the pain. If this helps in few minutes, it's probably heart related. GERD goes with stomach burning, heartburn, possible burping. Gastric pain is worse after meals, duodenal pain is worse between meals and during the night.
Avatar f tn yesterday i punched a wall it was painfull when i fell asleep but when i got up this morning the pain was worse and my little finger and ring fringer were bruised and swolen. my little finger cant properly go into a fist have i broken it?? do i need to get it x-rayed or what else should i do??
Avatar n tn sometims my middle finger becomes numb--cold and turns white and the nailbed is blue.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with MS in August of this year and this finger pain was one of the earliest symptoms after I fainted in Feb (but had no idea that was anything serious) - I went to a rheumatologist for the finger pain and he couldn't find anything but did think I had carpal tunnel and the nerve test for that is what started me on the path to a MS diagnosis.
