Not usually a problem with natural births but with interventions you need to be monitored more closely since interventions (induction, epidural, c-section, etc) can cause dangerous side effects.

No lol it's safe just don't chew with nail polish on...nail polish just makes me want to pick and chew at my nails.

I know some hospitals want clean nails for the o2 sensor and also in the event of complications they want to be able to see your nail bed colour. A lot of registration paperwork will include a line that says no nail polish. But it seems like more and more hospitals are allowing it nowadays.

I have a doctors app on Tuesday, I will be asking my doctor this question, but I thought I wld get ur opinions. Is it OK to have nail polish on my nails and feet lol. I've heard from many of my friends not to. What do u guys think??

I was told no polish at all. I asked about my feet because I had just painted em and she said that should be ok but not on the finger nails. This was 5 months ago my first was unplanned so I wasn't told anything on that one.

The nail tech also proceeded to use his nail to smudge nail polish off where it had gotten on my skin, and subsequently also touching the area where my cuticle was cut and previously bleeding, further irritating it. What if he did that to other customers that had bloody nails?

On my induction paper it said to remove all nail polish. I never don't have toe nail polish on, no matter how big I got, I refused to take it off because I hate my toes "naked." well a lot of it is normal behavior, but it wont hurt to speak to your doctor I have seen children eat off their nail polish they do not have any disorder, either that or they pick it off with there finger nails .May I ask what the other non food items are ?

I have also been under the impression that you cannot do any surgery with fingernail polish. Definitely ask your hospital first. Can't have the acrylic nails because of the oxygen Meyer and can't have polish so that the color of your nail bed can be visually monitored in the event of complications.

If you contract listeria while pregnant it can cause major problems in your pregnancy and even the possibility of miscarriage/fetal demise... As for nail polish you can wear polish, but if you go to a salon just make sure you're in a ventilated area.

I would bite/pick at the polish but not the nail til the nail got long and strong enough. I sometimes bite down on my nail but now that it's longer it's harder to bite off and this is enough to satisfy the oral fixation. I still paint my nails maybe weekly but I now have nails that extend past the finger. YAY!

Lip gloss and nail polish isnt over sexualizing, my daughter is two and loves to wear "lipstick" cause she sees mommy doing it as well as nail polish, kids always look up their parents and want to copy.. I do however agree that putting nail polish on infants is kinda wrong plus the fumes and what not is a risk right?

Okay so I recently took my nail polish off only to find giant yellow blotches on my nails I washed my hands tried reremoving it with nail polish remover paint my nails a different color and remove it again. But the yellow blotches are still on my nails what could it be?!?!
