Avatar f tn Hi i have been suffering from weak finger nails all my life and lately i decided to go to a nail technician to apply gel nails in order to have more support for my original nails.. However, after that the gel nails fell off my original nails became chipped off, very weak and worst than before the gel nails. Any suggestion please? Any products that can make my nails better?
Avatar f tn Do any of you ladies know if it's alright to wear nail polish (specifically gel/shellac polish) during labor? I'm due in 5 days and feeling really blah, so I was thinking of treating myself, but don't want to spend the money if they're going to make me take it off when I get to the hospital.
Avatar m tn The index finger is burned on the area near the nail bed including the nail itself, the burn is isolated to the right side of the nail and finger. My question being what will a Doctor do to ease my pain and help the healing process? I am worried being a college student with no medical coverage, that they will simply ask me to keep the wound clean, and give me pain medication, things I can do myself without accruing debt.
Avatar f tn Ok well i have a doctor's appointment today so I'll ask her
Avatar f tn i have fungu on my finger and also on my toe it been like that for the past six month been to the doctor he give me cream but they are not helping me dont know what else to.
Avatar f tn I was wearing acrylic nail and just change to gel nail kinda like my gel nail better and they last long
Avatar n tn In my bag (suitcase lol) were a few nighties, socks, underwear, sanitry pads, something comfy to wear home, travel soaps, baby soap, hand sanitizer gel, hairbrush and hair ties, shampoo for shower/ travel set for brushing teeth, nail clippers for babys finger nails (my sons were so long i cut them when he was a few hours old) nappies and wipes for baby, vests and jammy suits and an outfit to wear home. A blanket and spare change is a good idea too.
Avatar f tn It also said the toxins of the gel can seep into your nail bed and toxin the baby...not sure about that but the skin spots makes sense.
Avatar f tn my middle toe nail has black patches near the nail bed. My beautician at first thought it a bruise, but 5 months later it has not got any better, nor grown ou with the nail. Therefore it must be under the nail. Is this a fungus of some sort? How should I treat it?
Avatar n tn Thanks Brandywinne To geminigirl1963 , the old nail already from 1 week dropped and now the new nail is only cover the half of the finger and it is like it will never grow as it show like my other nails , meaning i am afraid that the process is already finished without letting the new nail grow to full.
Avatar n tn The most common causes are bacterial or fungal infections which enters the skin around the nail that has been damaged by trauma, such as nail biting, finger sucking, dishwashing, or chemical irritants. The yellow-green color, indicates that a collection of pus has formed under the skin (called an abscess). If this is the case it may require an incision and drainage. Warm soaks in a mixture of 50% warm water and 50% liquid antibacterial soap 3-4 times daily for about 15 minutes.
Avatar m tn The major issue that I touched her vagina with my hand and my cut finger. I did not penetrate my finger inside her. It was only touching the outside of her vagina and I believe that I touched the outside of her vagina by the surface of my hand which includes the cut. She was not wet and also not totally dry. I felt she was a little watery. ( the cut was not bleeding at the touching time but it was red) Now: 1) Am I at any risk of STDs ? including HIV?? 2) Do I need Testing??
Avatar f tn my nail has the same length of my nail from my uninjured hand, except that it slightly curves. It doesn't really curve completely *over* the finger, but it does curve. The main part that is missing is the fleshy bit behind the nail: my actual fingertip. There is basically no fingertip. When I type, for example, the only part that touches (and can touch) the keys is my nail.
Avatar f tn The difference is gel is like a real strong nail polish it goes right on top of your nails it looks more natural its very shiny and pretty. acrilics a r fake nails they glue them on your nails file it down cut them however long or short you like it takes alot longer they are also pretty. Both gel and acrilics last about two weeks then you will need fills or gel taken off and put back on. I love gel because its clean and dries soo quick no waiting around to dry your nails.
Avatar f tn No pregnant woman should be using acrylics during pregnancy. Those chemicals are highly toxic and am an cause cancer of the cuticle and nail bed! I do gel nails and all my products are non toxic and odour free.
Avatar f tn s started to bleeding when i got the cut by my finger nail , i dont know how long red and dark spot like blood stay in my finger nail , its same no risk?
Avatar f tn Plus the nurses now can tell you if youre not dilating just start chipping the nail on a finger in case of csec lol its not as much of a biggie now as it was even a couple years ago.
Avatar n tn two days ago i slammed my middle finger in the door and instantly my nail started turning black. now the tip of my finger is swollen and the nail is still black. i dont think its broken because i can still bend it.
405614 tn?1329144114 I had a deep line all around my thumb by the base of the nail. I stumbled back in the house, upstairs to put arnica gel on it (roommate woke up and was very sympathetic). Went down stairs and made an ice pack that I rubber-banded around my poor thumb. I was on the way to my yoga class, leaving about 7:30 am. I'd loaded my bag with mat and block in the trunk, put a water bottle in, and just can't figure out how I managed to do such a thing!
Avatar n tn My finger nail was crushed and halfway down the nail bed, the nail is torn and slightly poking into the cuticle. The nail is still attached to my skin at the top of the nail and in the bed at the bottom. This happened last night and my finger is slightly numb, swollen, and there is a lot of what looks like discharge (oily?). It’s been lightly bleeding. I can move my finger and curl it slightly with some pain. Do I need to go to urgent care or can this be taken care of at home?
Avatar m tn Unfortunately, if these cells are destroyed the nail will not re-grow. From your symptoms it looks like superficial burn of the finger nail which should soon regrow. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your dermatologist. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
Avatar f tn Yea its great. Im 31+3 and I love getting my feet done.
Avatar f tn I have a very annoying callus or growth on my right hand ring finger just next to the nail bed it grows to form a hard and rough chunk of yellowish skin and eventually annoys me so much that I remove it either by biting or using nail scissors! When it's the rough skin it doesn't really cause me pain but when I remove a lot of it it it tends to feel rough but soft and starts to feel swollen and sore. It doesn't matter how many times I cut it away it just keeps growing back!
Avatar m tn Can the hiv vaginal fluid or blood infect my exposured cut and sore nail bed (no nail to protect) finger Best regards J
Avatar f tn Many counselors will recommend applying a non-toxic gel to your finger tips and nails that has an unpleasant taste. Every time you go to bite your nails you will have a horrible taste in your mouth. If you apply the gel consistently that should cure that habit rather quickly. Emphasize- NON-TOXIC.
