Hello, I would like to gain insight to causes, treatments and remedies of joint pain and swelling (currently wrists, elbows and shoulder). I understand it may appear similar to what arthritis suffers experience, however, long term degeneration of joints and collagen from diabetes may be responsible for the pain and swelling. Can the pain and swelling be reversed / averted? Can flexibility and mobility lost from swelling be regained? Can swelling be eliminated? - How?
Sometimes even like a fluey ache all up my arm. And the shoulder pain is deep in the shoulder, feels like its the joint not just surface muscles. At first I thought it was from sleeping on my shoulder, as i tend to be a side sleepr. BUT when I first noticed it i was not long out from hip surgery for hip dysplacia so most definitely was not sleeping on my right side due to hip pain.
Arthritis or inflammation of joint that moves from joint to joint (migratory) can be due to Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, rheumatic fever, SLE, HIV, Lyme’s disease, sarcoidosis, Whipple’s disease, Henoch-Schnlein Purpura, bacterial endocarditis and gonoccoccal arthritis. Hashimotos thyroidits is another possibility. It can also be fibromyalgia and or chronic fatigue syndrome. Since it started with great toe it can also be gout. At times an infection can trigger reactive arthritis.
situation, or is this more widespread? 3. Joint ache is so general. In ARS, do people have constant joint pains, or do they come and go through the day? 4. Does oral sex stimulate slime production in the throat? The way I've experienced it, it felt like i got tons of pre *** in my mounth, cause it took me ages to get rid of the slimy substance in my throat. Could it have been just slime, or a slimey something my body produces, or was it really the precum? Thank you in advance!
Of course, I've had the usual side effects (dryness, depression, lethargy.) My main problem now is severe joint pain. I lift weights 5x per week. I don't want to stop working out, but my right elbow and both shoulders are killing me! Has anyone had experience with this and can you recommend medicine or treatment for the joint pain? I employ high intensity training (low reps, hight weight) but can change my lifting to lighter weight, with higher weights. But I can not stop lifting.
I mean the biggest knuckle on my actua finger, not the one that connects it to my hand. It is my dominant hand, and I am very rough on my hands....however, none of my other knuckles have a ny soreness or pain. The Urgent Care told me to follow up this week- whick I am doing Thursday- with my primary Dr if the pain has not gone away. They said xrays would happen and blood work to look for Uric acid and i think RA as well. The swelling grew on Sunday but has since gone down.
For the past 4 months I have been having many symptoms, mainly muscle and joint pain. This started in legs, they first felt heavy and stiif. The pain is much worse at night. Now the pain includes legs, arms, shoulders, sometimes back but not that much. I have had a fine tremor of right ring finger that comes for sometime and then goes away for like a week or two. The pain is really my main symptom. My whole body feels stiif, especially the muscles.
When I put a finger on the inside of my hand where the knuckle is and curl my index finger I can feel something move or shift. When I do anything that requires opening and closing my hand repeatedly (i.e. I work in the post office sorting mail) the areas where the joints or tendons or whatever shift become sore overtime. The closest comparision I can think of is sore muscles after working out.
two weeks later, got fever and cough; now unexplainable joint pain, after almost 7 weeks; she said she got rapid test (afer my insistence); but I think I do not believe her. Everytime I try to expalin my problem, she says, "well, how many tests have you gotten"; only when I pressed her she says, "yes I got tested, and it was fine.
I also notice muscle twitches in my body. My right upper eye led also twitch. Sometimes my finger moves OR jumps on its own for 1 second then it becomes normal. I have also noticed my leg moves its position slightly involuntary for 1-2 second then it becomes normal. Past history: I was diagnosed with vitamin d deficiency with hyperparathyroid in october 2012, I don't know if its primary or secondary. I've seen my calcium fluctuate from normal high to high so I'm on lose dose vitamin D3.
Many do not realize that what they think is joint pain may not be caused from within the joint, unless there is physical joint damage or Rheumatoid. Referred pain simply means pain felt in a different area from its true origin. Knee, ankle and shoulder pain is usually from tight muscles (nearby or far) pulling on a joint, so that's where you feel it. Loosening the muscle (if it wont stretch) via acupressure or trigger point release can relieve joint and muscle pain.
I developed the numb and wrinkled finger tips after being sick with a fever after reacting to a pneumonia injection. I also have joint paint in my finger. I went to a hand specialist and was tested for carpal tunnel. Tests came back posititive showing nerve restriction in all finger tips. Doctor said it was carpal tunnel. Surgery is scheduled in four weeks. For the last couple of weeks I have also had joint pain in my toes.
Hi, i was wondering if trapped gas can cause chest soreness, chest tightness, shortness of breath, stabbing pain which is severe enough to think you are having a serious heart problem. and if the answer is yes, how does one go about solving this trapped gas problem? Thanks.
Hello 36 year old male About a year ago I started having twitching in my right middle finger and after a few months I started having muscle spasms all over my body head to toe really bad in my arms and legs. As time has progressed my muscle freeze in place if I move in a certain postion for a period of time, muscle pain hurts to touch in my arms legs. I also having my hands and legs tingle and going numb. The numbness is usually half of my hand or foot.
Other differential diagnosis would include carpal tunnel syndrome, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, or gout of first metacarapal-phallengeal joint. Take a second opinion and see. An X-ray of the thumb joint, MRI of thumb and wrist, RA factor, thyroid panel, clinical examination, etc will be required for a confirmed diagnosis. Consult an orthopedic specialist. Take care!

I'm 26 years old, and I woke up today to a gradually worsening flare-up (seems to have leveled off hours ago) of moderate joint pain (it started at 4.5/10 and grew to 5.5/10). It's symmetrical, and in my neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists, finger joints, knees, ankles, and one of my big toes. My elbows hurt if I squeeze them gently, same with my finger joints - I actually noticed that with my finger joints about a month ago when I was fingerprinted and the woman doing it squeezed the joints.
I remembered that incident because this morning I woke up with my thumb joint having some pain, kind of deep inside. I have not done anything to it to cause it to be sore. About an hour ago I noticed that there is a smallish area in the webbing of my thumb and 1st finger that is starting to bruise. Also from the thumb joint almost to my wrist on the palm of my hand is starting to bruise and seems a bit swollen. Have you guys ever had something like this happen?

My dentist said EMG's show that while wearing the NTI it's impossible to bite down with significant pressure. I told him I think I could bite his finger off with the appliance in place and was willing to test my theory. He declined. Did this NTI thing destroy my teeth because I wasn't a good candidate for it?
The left should pain isn't bad and the dull pain comes and goes. my finger (middle finger first joint) is still painful ( maybe a 2 on a scale to 10). Here's the kicker. I just found out my wife (42rs old) has been feeling the same thing in her left shoulder and left hand with some soreness for about two months now. Same spot on the left shoulder, however her pain is on the back side of her left hand near her knuckles. I had my annual physical back in December 2008. My CBC is fine.
Your finger prick tests will be negative, proving that you did not get HIV from the exposure you have described.
Since the injury I have been experiencing pain in my right forearm and a soreness in my right elbow. I assume the soreness is just from the joint not being worked as effectively as it used to be. The forearm, however, troubles me. I am a very active person and work out daily with weight lifting. In addition to that I do manual labor for work and engage in repetitive motion that involves my right forearm. The pain in my forearm has been present even before I started working out again.
I'm 4 weeks out from anterior cervical fusion of 5/6, 6/7 & 7/8 with typical screws & plate. My headaches are gone!!! My neck feels great with some soreness and problems swallowing still which I think is typical. My problems started about 3 days after surgery with awful pain in the whole right shoulder, bicep and running down rt arm to thumb and pointer finger. My thumb feels like it's on fire! My meds were Hydrocodone and Valium for he pain and cramps in my biceps.
In 2007 I underwent surgery for C5/C6 herniation, laminectomy, and the facet joint was removed (due to large bone spurs). Soon after my surgery, I was dx with Fibromyalgia as much of fhe pains in my shoulder and chest did not subside and I have a long history (18 years) of severe pain symptoms (from chostrocondritis to sciatica and all areas in between) that remained a mystery up until my Fibro dx.
To expect a lot of bruising and swelling in the joint (by the way, it is her right thumb). They also said she didn't have to wear anything on it. Well, tonight she bumped that thumb on her other hand somehow and it hurt so bad she almost threw up. She almost cried a gallon of tears too. My question is, should I go buy her a finger splint before school tomorrow or not?
