specifically, the two finger joints of the pinky, the top joint of the ring finger, the central joint of the middle finger and sometimes the knuckle and central joint of the index finger. My thumb's central joint can be popped but causes no pain or tightness.
Pressing my hand flat on a surface and forcing it to remain there causes tightness at the wrist and I can feel what can only be described as a 'spring effect' at the knuckles when I release.

I have a rash, it consists of 3 or 4 red bumps on the middle joint of my middle finger and now I also have two bumps on my index fingers on both hands and some bumps on my elbow. They are a little itchy and kind of painful, and look sort of like blisters. Does this sound like what you've experienced? I'm hoping you can help shed some light on my situation. I appreciate your help!
ve been having minor pain in the smallest joint on my fourth finger on my right hand. Because I work seven days a week during the school year, I never saw the doctor. But it started getting worse. It hurts, if my fist is closed, to bump the knuckle from above. It also hurts to stretch my fingers out (laying flat is okay, but if I try to stretch them at all, it hurts).
All of a sudden the piece of skin in between my thumb and finger has become stiff. I don't think it would be trigger finger but i might be wrong. It won't go either. What can I do? It's hard to stretch my thumb away from the hand and spread my fingers without it hurting.

I'm assuming this may be a minor problem. About five days ago, my right index finger felt very slightly odd near the bottom of the tip joint/middle bone area (the "palm side" of my finger). I can't describe it any more than that; I just knew something wasn't right. Then I noticed that it was slightly swollen. I would never have noticed this if it didn't feel slightly weird. m a house painter and recently brought my hand down onto the sharp point of one of my painting tools. It cut into the side if my rt hand middle finger, middle joint (between the knuckle and the lower joint) It bled a bit and swelled up of course. That was over two weeks ago. I still have noticable swelling in that joint, especially on the rt side, and considerable pain. The rest of my hand hurts lately, probably from compensating for the lack of use of the middle finger. I'm 28 and I have joint pain in my finger joints and I feel it in my wrists sometimes too. And in the digits of my feet (I think).
I have no RF in my blood and the doctor said just take Ibuprofen.

No thyroid problems. Not diabetic.

I have been eating a lot of fresh cherries and drinking cherry juice over this last week, and my bad knee and other joint pains are much improved. The only problem I have found is that I am itching. All I can think of is that I am allergic to too much of the fruit. It is hot and clammy here in the UK and the heat makes me feel itch too. I had my oat, baby oil, and Dermol 600 bath earlier on today and showered afterwards.
You will probably hold on to the joint pain for a while, but the itchiness should clear up for a while. Right now, the itchiness is caused by bilirubin (a blood waste product) building up. As your liver improves with treatment, it will go away. Unfortunately, itching can be one of the side effects of treatment, but the side effect is not nearly as bad as the original itching from bilirubin. Not everyone gets every side effect.

When there is a capsular injury to a joint in finger, it is best to give the RICE treatment for a few days such as rest, ice application, compression bandage (you can strap the injured finger with the neighboring finger) and elevation (keep hands elevated on a pillow at bed time). You can also take an anti-inflammatory pain killer. Once the injury settles down and there is less pain you have to start physiotherapy.
Bumps appear AFTER itching starts, but itching continues. The thing is, the places that itch THE MOST relatively, have no bumps, and only after a day or two of scratching do the bumps appear (and continue with itching, but a little less than before). Note: I was itching insanely for 6 days, and now it has subsided considerably (but not completely, and any place I scratch still has the feeling of "this place is itchy").
any amount of swelling in a small joint such as a finger joint can cause quite a bit of discomfort. It sounds like you "jammed" the joint(s). It can take a long time to resolve. Like 6-9 months. You could try soaking it in hot water to loosen things up and try to pull and put tension on the finger to loosen up the joint. Pull the finger slowly, steadily, and gently straight out. I have found this can help loosen it up and relieve some pressure in the joint.

I dislocated my PIP joint on my ring finger 2 weeks ago. It was reduced at the hospital and I went to the hand clinic 24 hours later. They said it was doing ok and I didn't need to go back unless there was a problem with it. I was told to keep it buddy strapped for 2 weeks.
I now have the buddy strapping off. The finger isn't that painful unless I bump the joint accidentally. I'm a little concerned as I can't fully straighten it or bend it more than halfway.

When i bend my finger up and down and touch the joint of the finger with the hard lump on it , it seems like the lump seems to stay on the joint and it moves just a little, when i press on it. And also, when i press on the hard knot on the finger joint, it feels kind of like the joint is bigger on the outside under the skin in the joint. I think it burns now a little when i start pressing on the knot really much.
I have treated twice for Hep C once for 15 mo standard Interferon and Rib, second time for 7 mo with addition of Alinia stopping Jan of 09. I have severe loss of finger joint movement in both hands. started 3 or 4 months after final treatment. My ortho guy doesn't see any structural damage or signs of arthritis .Could there be tie to the Hep C or treatment??
