When they are yellow they can be a bit painful if bumped. They itch and sometimes the skin peels. My nail as is grows is very bumpy now with white lines or white looking holes(not really holes, just looks that way) I thought I originally got bit by a spider, already had a round of antibiotics, didn't help. I have been dealing with this for almost 4 months and my doc says it will just go away. It actually seemed like it was gone for about 10 days then all of a sudden it was back.
I have a rash that appears and disappears. It is the same each time - raised red skin in the shape of a j along the side of my index finger closest to my thumb. It goes the length of the middle digit and gets a darker red closest to the joint. It doesn't hurt or itch but is uncomfortable because of some swelling at the site. It goes away without treatment but reappears in the same spot. It has been happening off and on for over a year.

Almost two decades ago, I noticed three small pink bumps at the beginning of my cuticle. Over time the condition has spread very slowly up my finger. It is now nearly to the first joint. It doesn't itch, or hurt in any way until it cracks and bleeds. I have tried everything over the years! It seems to have cycles of flare and times when it almost goes away by itself. I don't have it on any other part and my wife has never contracted it.
next i noticed that i get these painful bumps under my skin on my pointer fingers only (so far) they are only red if i mess with them but you can feel them if you run your finger accross. i notice they come and go. for example yesterday got 2 bumps on right figer on side of 1st joint. today still had them, but as soon as i started stressing out about what it could be i started w 2 on the left finger. very annoying constant dull pain but "itchy painful".
i have a lump on the finger (the one next to my little finger) it's been there for just over 2 months & isn't going down atall, it is on the nail side up side of the finger on the the 2nd joint from the fingernail? Does anyone know what this could be, I am worried it is cancer???
Arthur Ritis has been known to take us from joint to joint. We never know which joint is next. Sorry, a little humor.
MSM has been known to help with arthritis pain because it cuts down on the inflammation. I have recently started taking it myself, as I have Fibromyalgia and anything that cuts inflammation is okay in my book!

All of a sudden the piece of skin in between my thumb and finger has become stiff. I don't think it would be trigger finger but i might be wrong. It won't go either. What can I do? It's hard to stretch my thumb away from the hand and spread my fingers without it hurting.

m a house painter and recently brought my hand down onto the sharp point of one of my painting tools. It cut into the side if my rt hand middle finger, middle joint (between the knuckle and the lower joint) It bled a bit and swelled up of course. That was over two weeks ago. I still have noticable swelling in that joint, especially on the rt side, and considerable pain. The rest of my hand hurts lately, probably from compensating for the lack of use of the middle finger. Any ideas?
I'm 28 and I have joint pain in my finger joints and I feel it in my wrists sometimes too. And in the digits of my feet (I think).
I have no RF in my blood and the doctor said just take Ibuprofen.
I am slightly over weight because of bulimia.

The time that it was the worst, the outside of my index finger on my left hand was covered in bumps and it was very itchy, and my middle finger on that hand was swollen and sore at the joint. I noticed it after a morning of intense deep cleaning my house, so I wonder if it is an allergic reaction to the cleaners I use. I have seasonal allergies.
Hi, I'm been having itch on the edge of my right palm, last finger on my left hand n near my toes for both foot. No sore, no blisters but the itch is inside them. I do notice small bubbles lookalike tadpole eggs on d left finger. May I koe hw to reduce d itch?

When there is a capsular injury to a joint in finger, it is best to give the RICE treatment for a few days such as rest, ice application, compression bandage (you can strap the injured finger with the neighboring finger) and elevation (keep hands elevated on a pillow at bed time). You can also take an anti-inflammatory pain killer. Once the injury settles down and there is less pain you have to start physiotherapy.

So a few weeks ago, I noticed a tiny red bump (the size of a sesame seed) on my pointer finger on the side that faces my thumb (the outside) right on the joint. Ever since, I would get a few clustered around the joints on that side on both fingers which stay for only about a week before they go away and new ones come up. Sometimes they would itch a little or hurt when I apply pressure to them, and sometimes they don't even feel like they're there.
IT IS ADD ON ...ALSO I NOTICED BURNING OTHER PARTS OF MY BODY. I have raynauds in both hands & feet, roscea in face & currently getting slowly JOINT PAIN IN SOME FINGER S AND 1 ELBOW NO REDNESS BUT SWELLING AT THE JOINT.
There is no blisters, It does not hurt, it does not itch, much less present on my toes. It can sometimes peel deep enough to make my fingers bleed a little (3 out of ten figers currently have scabs and when they bleed it does sting a little). It feels like there is a lot of dead skin on my fingers before peeling. On my big toes, the skin can peel a little often when I clip the nail. They can peel just about to the middle joint of each finger and part of the quibical (spelling?).
any amount of swelling in a small joint such as a finger joint can cause quite a bit of discomfort. It sounds like you "jammed" the joint(s). It can take a long time to resolve. Like 6-9 months. You could try soaking it in hot water to loosen things up and try to pull and put tension on the finger to loosen up the joint. Pull the finger slowly, steadily, and gently straight out. I have found this can help loosen it up and relieve some pressure in the joint.
