Avatar f tn About 2 months ago I woke up with little finger twitching on right hand. Would only twitch in the morning for a few seconds, quit and then go again, but stopped within an hour or so. Then quit all together. Now I woke up and the thumb on my left hand was twitching and twitching most of the day off and on. Please advise what I should do?
Avatar n tn ) These bruises cause an immediate intense, hot pain and sometimes itch. Finally, in one spot where I got one of these reactions, the top joint of my little finger, there is now a pronounced hard lump; this could have been there before and I didn't notice it until I had the pain. Finally, and potentially completely unrelated, I was recently diagnosed with Lichen's Sclerosus. Does any of this make any sense to you?
Avatar n tn I have a rash, it consists of 3 or 4 red bumps on the middle joint of my middle finger and now I also have two bumps on my index fingers on both hands and some bumps on my elbow. They are a little itchy and kind of painful, and look sort of like blisters. Does this sound like what you've experienced? I'm hoping you can help shed some light on my situation. I appreciate your help!
Avatar f tn It started off one night, I felt a pain in my middle joint of index finger, I started massaging it and it was painful, when I woke up, I had a swollen finger. After few days it increased in size, I had few scratches/sting like pins in the skin in that area, I was put on amoxicillin 2x every 12hrs and after like 4 days it decreased and got back to normal, then a week later it appeared again... it started with pains in the morning and night, but decreasing during the day.
Avatar n tn Thanks for your insight. I do not have high blood pressure though, in fact it's on the low end of the normal range. I get it checked often (only because I'm at the doctor's office often lately). I went to an ENT and he said that the tinnitus was a result of TMJ (jaw). However, he didn't do any tests at all, only asked me a few questions. I know that TMJ can cause tinnitus and I don't doubt that I have some minor TMJ problems, like clicking sounds in the jaw.
Avatar f tn Arthritis or inflammation of joint that moves from joint to joint (migratory) can be due to Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, rheumatic fever, SLE, HIV, Lyme’s disease, sarcoidosis, Whipple’s disease, Henoch-Schnlein Purpura, bacterial endocarditis and gonoccoccal arthritis. Hashimotos thyroidits is another possibility. It can also be fibromyalgia and or chronic fatigue syndrome. The best thing would be to consult a general practitioner or PCP and try and assess what is the cause of your problem.
Avatar f tn ve been having minor pain in the smallest joint on my fourth finger on my right hand. Because I work seven days a week during the school year, I never saw the doctor. But it started getting worse. It hurts, if my fist is closed, to bump the knuckle from above. It also hurts to stretch my fingers out (laying flat is okay, but if I try to stretch them at all, it hurts).
Avatar f tn All of a sudden the piece of skin in between my thumb and finger has become stiff. I don't think it would be trigger finger but i might be wrong. It won't go either. What can I do? It's hard to stretch my thumb away from the hand and spread my fingers without it hurting.

Avatar m tn m a house painter and recently brought my hand down onto the sharp point of one of my painting tools. It cut into the side if my rt hand middle finger, middle joint (between the knuckle and the lower joint) It bled a bit and swelled up of course. That was over two weeks ago. I still have noticable swelling in that joint, especially on the rt side, and considerable pain. The rest of my hand hurts lately, probably from compensating for the lack of use of the middle finger. Any ideas?
Avatar m tn I'm 28 and I have joint pain in my finger joints and I feel it in my wrists sometimes too. And in the digits of my feet (I think). I have no RF in my blood and the doctor said just take Ibuprofen. I am slightly over weight because of bulimia. I've had gluten sensitivity problems (makes me sluggish and hungry). AND labyrinthitus in the past months. No thyroid problems. Not diabetic. Feeling it might be Fibromyalgia ? I'm lost.
477912 tn?1207974440 Treatment involves anti inflammatory drugs like ibuprofen, paracetamol, aspirin etc, hot compressions, physiotherapy and later in disease some disease modifying drugs like steroids etc. Relax, this disease is quite manageable. 1291214 tn?1277058191 ve been getting swelling in the fingers or my right arm, mainly the pointer and index finger. It could be argued that this could be from my violin playing, but I couldn't fine anyone else at All-state orchestra with the same problem as me. I've gotten many blood tests done to test for Lupus, rheumatoid factor, and stuff like that..all came back negative.

Avatar n tn When there is a capsular injury to a joint in finger, it is best to give the RICE treatment for a few days such as rest, ice application, compression bandage (you can strap the injured finger with the neighboring finger) and elevation (keep hands elevated on a pillow at bed time). You can also take an anti-inflammatory pain killer. Once the injury settles down and there is less pain you have to start physiotherapy.
219373 tn?1274921434 i have bilateral joint pain (mostly in my hands and elbows, also wrists and ankles). i do have joint hypermobility syndrome which is a connective tissue disease that makes the joints very flexible. i know joint pain is a common problem with my JHS but it seems so symmetical. do you think it could be something else like RA. i am wondering if an autoimmune disorder could put all of my symptoms into a nice package and get me some treatment that actually works.
Avatar f tn any amount of swelling in a small joint such as a finger joint can cause quite a bit of discomfort. It sounds like you "jammed" the joint(s). It can take a long time to resolve. Like 6-9 months. You could try soaking it in hot water to loosen things up and try to pull and put tension on the finger to loosen up the joint. Pull the finger slowly, steadily, and gently straight out. I have found this can help loosen it up and relieve some pressure in the joint.
Avatar n tn You could have injured interphalangeal joint of your finger. The multiple joint involvement could also be due to infection or due to reactive arthritis. Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

At times an infection can trigger reactive arthritis.
Avatar n tn I have had this for over a week, and it seems to be getting worse. I am 33 and in very good health. The 1st knuckle on my index finger is pretty swollen, stiff and has a fair amount of pain when I bend or touch it. I have already been to urgent care, and was told it was not infected due to no heat or redness. I was given Ibuprofen and a splint, told to follow up tomorrow if no improvement. They sugest bloodwork to test for uric acid or arthritis.
Avatar m tn Wish you had received an answer I have the same symptom. Index finger near the joint with a burning sensation, not when touching it but when carrying a plastic shopping bag or when my purse handles lay across the finger between the first and middle knuckle.
Avatar n tn punctured my finger in the joint and now it is swollen and I cant bend it and it really is painful I dont know what to do
