Avatar f tn OK so I had to get a colscopy and biopsy done on Wednesday well I have been having pain and anyways I went to the bathroom today which is Friday, I wiped and a finger of a glove fell out on my toilet paper, I am still having pain, what should I do?? Is this malpractice? I'm worried.
Avatar n tn He pressed the blood soiled finger of this glove to the puncture wound of my finger which he had just pricked for this test. What are my chances of getting hiv in this manner of blood from another patient who could possibly have hiv getting on an exam glove and shortly thereafter getting pressed onto my finger prick wound and thereby causing hiv? Thank you very much.
Avatar m tn Thanks for helping me. I went to have a massage. Here are my concerns: 1.She fingered into my anus with a glove for several minutes. I know it is unlikely the glove was used before, but i am still worried: If she used the same glove to finger some other man(let's say a hiv positive) half an hour before me, is the glove infectious? Risky? 2.She licked my back and sucked my nipples.Risky? 3.I licked and sucked her feet and toes a little bit .Risky? I really need your help!
Avatar f tn Then AFTER wiping my arm with the antiseptic she put her left iindex finger (the hand WITHOUT a glove on ) and pressed down on my vein (i guess checking to see if its a good vein) . So she basically touched my skin with her bare hand AFTER wiping my skin with the wipe. She had not washed her hands before helping me. She didn't bother to rewipe my arm after that. Then she finally got around to putting on a glove for her left hand, drew blood, and put the vials on the counter.
Avatar n tn I was concerned that if he had transferred blood from another patient onto his glove and then onto my finger and then lanced my finger that he may have introduced into the puncture wound possible hiv virus which he transferred from his glove onto my finger and then into my finger by way of the lancet.
Avatar m tn i have just been diagnosed with peripheral neuropathy, i have the problem in both feet and hands, which they call glove and sock syndrome, may be interesting if you have just the glove syndrome. it does sound to me, although i am not a doctor, it is from the nerves, neuro, or circulatory., or what has been mentioned to you already.
Avatar n tn It is a no risk situation.

Avatar n tn Hi. recently I put a latex glove on my hand to experiment how it gets ripped by finger nail. Firstly, It took a great lot of effort to tear it with my finger nail when it did, it was catastrophic. My question is, If someone tears a condom WITH THEIR FINGERS while putting it on, does it ruptures the same way as the glove? Would I know it without looking.
Avatar n tn She was pressing against the protruding end of the wire with her index finger (which was gloved). While removing her finger from my mouth her glove got stuck in the wire edge. This means that the wire edge had penetrated the glove. I do not know if it had also penetrated her finger or not. The glove got stuck and slightly came off her hand. She pulled it back and continued with her work.
Avatar m tn She put on the gloves first. She then pricked my finger with a little needle-tool, and squeezed my finger. After doing that she took out a little stick from a box, and put it on my finger to get the blood. But at that time, another doctor came in and talked to her for a little while. After that, she somehow noticed that the blood on the stick is not enough or she forgot that she had already got my blood on the stick, she squeezed my finger again and swiped the stick again on my finger.
Avatar f tn I was receiving sclerotherapy injections on my legs for varicose veins and I noticed the doctor accidentally pricked his gloved finger and didn't change the needle out. He continued using the same needle that he pricked his finger with on me, injecting the saline solution into my veins. I am fearful that he may have Hepatitis B or C, or HIV and possibly transmitted it to me. When it happened, I noticed him yank his hand away and then continued injecting me with the needle.
Avatar f tn A coworker asked me to start an IV for her the patient was very nervous, so I wanted to make sure I got the IV on the first try. I pulled the tip of my glove off my index finger. After advancing the catheter some of his blood was leaking out and I went to connect the extension tubing and the blood got on my finger tip and finger nail.
Avatar m tn got drunk went to get a "massage" she offered a ** but i declined. I put on a latex glove but didn't have "water based" lubricant so I used the body lotion / hand cream and then fingered her anus and rubbed but did not penetrate her vagina. I then laid down and she inserted her finger in my anus. I am almost 100% she was wearing a glove but being drunk I am less certain then I like. I have hemroids so I am a little concerned. Day 12 and I am freaking out.
Avatar f tn But i have a wart on a finger in that hand which i used to remove the glove. I am paranoid about getting hiv, since there were many info about how genital warts are so receptive to hiv virus. I washed my hands with soap immediately. Now after one week , am getting fever cold headache. Am very much stressed about whether some hiv get sucked in through that wart in my finger. I lived with a hiv infected father for 10 years, now he died. I am so much worried.
Avatar f tn Hello Sir, I recently visit for massage and while give massage she and my self ware letex glove during hole massage she offer me handjob ( She give he handjob with glove on) and I finger her with glove on and I fill her virgnal fluid on my glove but by mistake I touch my uncircumcise penis top and that time my massage underwear was there. After 2 days I done her 4th gen hiv test and her report come nagative.
Avatar n tn Later the girl licked my finger. I feel scared now with the fear that I might be infected. Please advise.
Avatar f tn There are occupational health risks but simply touching HIV blood is not a risk. Touching it with a pin pricked finger is not a risk. And a pin pricked finger through a glove. The virus is inactivated in air. Speak to your supervisor. There are no charts on people? You could not read anything about the patient? Anyway, this isn't a risk. Touching blood is not a risk. You say 'without bleeding' from the place you pricked yourself. Focus on that. no risk.
572547 tn?1218924130 First, I understand your frustration. Before I found out what my first trigger finger was, I was fully prepared to request amputation because it was making my entire hand useless. I've had 3 surgeries over the past 2 years, freeing 4 fingers and removing a ganglion cyst from one. Did your surgeon send you to physical therapy? You need to keep moving your hands and fingers, despite the pain. Scar tissue (adhesions) starts to form a couple of months out from the surgery.
Avatar n tn Several years ago I was indirectly struck by lightning on my finger. Ever since I have had severe nerve pain. Cold is simply unbearable let alone if I hit my finger on anything. I have been to several doctors and NO one can help me. I have even attempted accupuncture to no avail. I am currenty taking Lyrica, which helps a little, but not much. I have tried topicals as well. I am to the point where I just want my finger amputated. The pain is just too much!! Any suggestions?
Avatar n tn You have no worries, these are irrational fears. Health care workers do not reuse needles/equipment. This is something that is pounded in our heads ALL through school. The MAIN reason a nurse/tech would not reuse needles is to protect THEMSELVES. And, yes, most products out there these days are one time use only, they are unable to be reused. The one glove thing is no big deal. Again, health care workers use gloves to protect themselves. It isn't mandatory.
Avatar f tn He injured himself with a chainsaw at work today and bled All over the place and i did the right thing and put a glove on my hand and tried to clean the place. But my other hand was without a glove and without knowing i had my jand on the blood. And there was lots of blood that you wouldnt believe it. I have a cut on my finger. Am i at great risk?
Avatar n tn Also, after I took the glove off, I noticed that there was a slight bit of blood on the palm of my hand, and a small paper cut on my ring finger (but I do not know if the glove was broken), but no blood by the cut, and it was a dry cut. About 5 minutes after I finished giving first aid, I used Purell on my hands. I do not know if the person has HIV. Does this pose any risk, or am I just over analyzing and superfluously worrying? Thanks!
Avatar f tn Im thinking yuck gross i should of said something like where is your glove. He had no glove on. Im just worried about something like hepitits or hiv exposure here. After you wash your hands and have a bandaid on who only knows whats oozing out. So i came home and I cant believe this but i ate the end of it and thinking why am i eating this i shouldnt have. I only ate the end of it. Is there any chance im gonna get something from this.
Avatar f tn t know what part the doctors done with the other patient, My main worries is about the GLOVES having fresh HIV blood and after the patient he came back and check my Anus and put the finger with glove inside me to check if there is hemorrhoid. My question to all of u out there especially to the HIV expert, please assess me because I'm having fear already, is that a HIV concern? Is fresh blood from the gloves can affect me inside my anus, if there is broken skin inside me????
Avatar f tn Hi, I am a nurse and earlier this month I was at work giving a patient a subcutaneous injection. I had gloves on, and felt the needle press against my glove. I did not see any blood on my finger or feel a prick. I know that the patient had no known history of HIV as well. But my anxiety just won't go away. I keep wondering if the needle may have punctured through the glove and slightly went into my skin without causing a prick or blood.
Avatar n tn 15 days ago i was working at a surgical center and starting an iv and like an idiot i oulled off a finger of the glove to feel better for a vein. After finishing placement of the line i noticed i had blood on my exposed finger. A day or two prior i nicked that finger with my razor. there was no major laceration and no blood at the site. I washed off the blood and didnt really think much of it. Now for past 4 days i have had diarrhea and pain in my groin along with headaches.
