Common Questions and Answers about Filgrastim route of administration

neupogen

Avatar m tn And are you saying Dengue fever? It would be a surprising though perhaps not impossible use of filgrastim. Dengue is usually treated by pain managers and sometimes hospitalization and a blood transfusion. Anyway, if you have a legitimate prescription from a doctor, you should be able to fill it in the United States.
Avatar n tn Its toxicity depends on the route of administration, duration, exposure and dosage. The route of administration is the most important determinant of toxicity. I hope this helps.

Avatar f tn I had my first round of chemo 1 week ago. Cytoxan & Taxotere. Ran a fever of 100.7 yesterday, called the doc. Had a blood test this am. The nurse called and said that the normal range for whatever they were looking at was 1.5-7.2. Before chemo mine was 6.9 now I am at 0.4 They put me on Levaquin. My question, because their office is closed... what are they measuring?... I was feeling pretty yucky & neglected to ask.
1986676 tn?1329862471 Musculoskeletal symptoms have been the most frequently reported adverse effects of filgrastim therapy. Bone pain has been reported in approximately 22% of patients. Avatar m tn Would this route of administration work similar to faster acting benzodiazepines such as Xanax or Ativan, or does it depend solely on having a steady amount of Klonopin in your bloodstream already? I'm confused; why would a doctor prescribe Klonopin for anxiety attacks (i.e., take it as needed)?
Avatar n tn Filgrastim is also prescribed as pegfilgrastim (called Neulasta). My doctor used the 500 neutrophill count as a cut-off, so every time I got down around 500 I used Neulasta. The interferon drops neutrophils and platelets. Some people can do okay with low neutrophils but just as many end up with kidney and sinus infections, etc., that make you even more miserable.
1391695 tn?1298139789 Rare fatal cases of splenic rupture have been reported following administration of filgrastim in both healthy volunteers and patients. Patients reporting left upper abdominal and/or shoulder tip pain should be evaluated for an enlarged spleen or splenic rupture. Cytopenias resulting from an antibody response to exogenous growth factors have been reported on rare occasions in patients treated with recombinant growth factors.

Avatar m tn Doctors unable to give any explanation for such wide variations on a dose to dose basis. Till date, I have also taken 5 doses of Filgrastim - the WBC Stimulator. Can you pleae advice possible reasons for such wide fluctuations.
Avatar f tn There is no benefit to taking this sublingually that I know of. Generally the reason you take anything that way is to get it into your system as quickly as possible or because saliva is beneficial to absorption. With 5-HTP, it takes some time for your system to react to it assuming your body finds it necessary to have more coming in -- if it doesn't, it just evacuates it. The same thing is true when you take medication targeted at serotonin, though they work quit differently.
Avatar m tn My WBC is getting a bit low (dropped slightly below 1.0). Going to get a shot of GCSF (Neupogen) tomorrow. Is it known to work most or all of the time?
Avatar m tn The first posting talks about an upcoming phase2b/3 clinical trial in Asia. Yet StudyForhope posted results of a phase3 trial. Not sure how it works, but a drug company will conduct multiple trials of the same phase before progressing to the next stage?
649848 tn?1534633700 06 PM ET, Thu July 4, 2019 (CNN) Even by the chaotic standards of the Trump administration, the battle of whether to include a citizenship question on the 2020 census has become bizarre. The Supreme Court last Thursday temporarily barred the addition of the controversial question. In response, the President tweeted that he asked government lawyers if they can delay the census "no matter how long.
Avatar m tn Those generics are usually cheaper but they must contain the same active ingredient(s), the same dosage form, at the same dose or concentration, and for the same route of administration. The generics are usually cheaper and can use different inactive ingredients and preservatives which can sometimes cause trouble. Looks like you are getting the generic for from the Israel generic of Effexor. It must be the cheaper generic of Effexor around and maybe it is responsible for your problems.
Avatar n tn probably not medication related. give her lots of attention and positive upbeat games. 'train' her out of this winney habit and encourage her to be a dog again. if it continues, feel her all over and make sure she does not have any areas of pain that would need attention.
Avatar f tn I was wondering if anyone has successfully filed for disability because of Chiari? I am not able to do my previous job and am exploring all options!
Avatar f tn s actually an approved route of administration that allows for a slightly quicker onset of action versus orally (especially good in the even of a panic attack or something like that). Unless the dose of Ativan was a bit stronger, you likely will find that overall the Xanax works better. They're both benzos and both share tolerance and dependency (when taken regularly), so I guess I just don't understand the switch, especially if the Xanax was working for you.
Avatar n tn Hi, With modern medical advances, especially effective anti-emetics, and growth factors (filgrastim), chemotherapy has become safer and more tolerable over the last decade or so. Hair loss will be your major side effect, and some intermittent illnesses may also be expected during the course of chemotherapy. But your overall long-term benefit will be much more than these temporary effects. All the Best!
