But I'm going to fight them and insist that I need antiviral treatment.
Also, do you mean treatment for the virus in general or help with treatment while one is takes the medication to treat the virus? Either way there is all kinds of help here and someone may be able to offer more meaningful insight on what you are asking if you could perhaps be a little more specific in your next post.
Hi, I am new to this so bear with me, lol! I completed my treatment in April 2009. 6 month treatment of interferon and rib. All my tests show clear, so that is all good. When I started treatment they warned me of the side effects, flu like symptoms, depression, headaches and all that good stuff, but the treatment wasn't too bad, they started me on an anti-depressant and medication for my headaches.
I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia at age 15, and it truly has been a touch road to walk down. I tried every medication they were willing to write, and nothing ever seemed to truly help. Then, I began seeing a new doctor, and what he told me to do was the most shocking, and absolutely amazing thing in the world. What was his treatment plan? "Smoke a joint.
Look..... fibromyalgia is a relatively new disease (I refer to it as a disease) and little is known about it. The same goes for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. The name "Chronic Fatigue Syndrome" does not do this illness justice. Anyhow, from what I see.... our wonderful and valued members here are sharing information in hopes to let others know what they may face and what their treatment options are. I have read what fibro/CFS experts are saying on these conditions.

I would recommend a book for you----the metabolic treatment of fibromyalgia by Dr. john lowe. i would assume you can get it from amazon. they seem to have everything. good luck.

I went thru 48 months of treatment developed fibromyalgia and worsened joint and bone pain. I have lost a lot of dexterity in my hands and fingers don't have a lot of feeling at the tips, but that's from the treatment. Pre-treatment I had a lot of winter arthritis-like pain in my joints and hands. Don't know if this helps, but I'm new to this forum. Wish I'd seen it when I was on treatment.

After the endoscopy we were given the diagnosis of chronic fatigue / fibromyalgia . Having been initially relieved that we finally had a diagnosis we are now starting to think differently. Once you have been tarred with this brush it would appear the doctors are not interested. My concern is how quickly this diagnosis has been made. I've read people can wait years before getting this confirmed as tests for all other conditions are looked into.
