Avatar m tn I had only once tested my hbsag quantity since my diagnosis two years ago. The test was done a few weeks ago and came out about 17000iu/ml. In other words quite high, that should warrant treatment immediately, in my opinion, though my dumb doctors won't put me on treatment yet. But I'm going to fight them and insist that I need antiviral treatment.

598902 tn?1219887213 I am a new patient of the Fibromyalgia and Fatigue Center of Philadelphia. So far they have discovered that I have hypothyroid, reactivated EBV, and elevated HHV6 when other doctors didn't have a clue. I just started on bio-identical T3 hormone for my thyroid which is suppose to boost my immune system and some other supplements to get my body ready to fight the chronic infection. Two months from now the doctor is going to begin me on anti-viral treatment.
402205 tn?1230481005 Hi everyone, Especiallly VaBresze and Ree4tu, I went for my initial appointment and it was so encouraging. Ree4tu you were right about the blood, 29 vials!. I'm still taking my normal prescriptions that help with pain, fatigue and RLS as well as additional supplements. I have both CFS and Fibromyalgia. From the initial diagnosis it appears I have a problem with yeast and low thyroid.
Avatar n tn Dr. Lipschultz at the Fibromyalgia and Fatigue Center of Philadelphia reported to me that even igenix can produce false negavtive tests. He treats for Lyme based on symptoms and doesn't rely heavily on any Lyme tests because they are so unreliable.
Avatar f tn I am a new patient of the Fibromyalgia and Fatigue Center in Philadelphia, PA. You do have to pay for your visits and any treatments (e.g. IV) upfront and then the center gives you the appropriate diagnostic codes and information to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. My insurance company reimbursed me for some of it, but it is still rather expensive.
Avatar n tn Yes from head to toe but it is mostly gone since I had treatment for possible lyme. I had it continuously for almost a year and a half. Is lyme a possibiliy for you?
Avatar m tn I did ask the opthamologist of this treatment was necessary and if it compromised the retina and he said the cloudiness would get worse and it wouldn't affect the retina. However, I do trust him and will follow through but I am reducing the saxaphone for a while at least. Your input is most helpful.
Avatar f tn Thank you! My neurologist is trying to label me with migraines, when I don't have headaches. He says fibromyalgia, when I am not having joint pain and no tender points. He even tried to call it anxiety, but I have never been anxious about anything. It helps me to know that there is someone else who had negative results and maybe I can get some resolve or answers to what is going on. Brings peace to me. I will try to set up the appointment in the morning.
Avatar m tn We are finding through both animal and human research that the medication class of benzodiazepines may actually prevent learning, both neuronal and cognitive and may prevent long term anxiety recovery. Our work has shown that the neuronal process for learning and also the process for unlearning (called extinction) is slowed or prevented by this class of medications. Neurons must fire to rewire: this is basic to all neuroplasticity and learning.
Avatar f tn Both palpitations and thyroid irregularity are often found, and often along with fibro-like symptoms, in late-stage Lyme disease. Your profile lists you as being in the Virginia Beach area, which is an area endemic for Lyme disease. Most doctors will tell you that Lyme is easily ruled in or out by tests, but a growing number of patients and doctors are learning otherwise. You don't need to remeber a tick bite or a rash to have Lyme disease.
Avatar f tn I have had fibro along with PTS for the last 15 years. I have had treatment in several venues and I am starting accupncture and Physical Therapy twice a week starting in Sept. This "syndrome" has made many days , months and years painful for me. I very seldom let it stop me coompletely because I have learned to generally work against the pain. I am now 7 7 years old, just lost my husband, and I am trying to find soe relief. Has anyone been given the treatments I mentioned above.
1477908 tn?1349567710 But during tx and certainly during this post tx period, I find myself analyzing and over analyzing each and every ache and twinge. And spending alot of time on the Internet checking them out which can be a good thing or a bad thing. Seems to be a viscious circle at times........
Avatar f tn Is there a connection between fibromyalgia and the ability to manage dental pain during procedures? I had to have some cavities taken care of last week - the dentist had to do four rounds of novacaine in addition to the topical analgesic and it had no effect on the nerves. He even gave me the maximum amount that could be administered. I'm also curious if there is a link between tooth decay and fibromyalgia.
Avatar f tn I just discovered this website as I was interesting in finding comments regarding the Fibro and Fatigue center. I dropped over $5000 to this place and that was my savings and basically what it came down to was that I was back at the same treatment I was using with my rheumatologist at the Cleveland Clinic and he was covered by my insurance!!! I was thought it was a major rip off and I'm still realing from the loss of all that money.
2128874 tn?1335442182 Hi and welcome, I always say, Follow your gut feeling! I was diagnosed with FM 12 yrs. ago and felt like you, later to find I had EBV and mycoplasma. (basic lab tests) When it still seemed even these illnesses did not cover all my symptoms I found a Lyme disease doc, he tested properly and found Lymes an Babesia. All four were from one exposure to a tick. The first two can be tested at basic labs but Lymes can only be tested correctly at MDL , IGENIX labs.
Avatar f tn fatigue and have been pain drugs for roughly a year and a half, and due to difficulty in finding proper help to manage my pain meds i called and have been accepted into one of the top centers for treatment of fibromyalgia and chrnic fatuge, though there web info and a couple of calls to inquire about treatment, they did tell me i have to stop EVERY DRUG 24 HOURS PRIOR TO FIRST APPT, AND DUE TO CONFIDENTIALITY, WILL NOT TELL ME IF I HAVE TO BE DETOXED PRIOR, OR IF AFTER/DURING THE FIRST APPT THE
Avatar n tn That said, I, personally, would go to whomever I felt most comfortable with and who was willing to try the hardest and work the most to try to find the appropriate treatment/s for me. For me, my family doctor is the one who I feel the most comfortable with and who treats me for all my conditions. I was seeing a rheumatologist up until a couple of years ago when she stopped accepting my insurance and I simply cannot afford to pay out of pocket for the visits.
Avatar f tn You have stiff neck? RA symptoms? Chronic hadaches? stomach and bowell issues? ovarian cysts or a hysterstomy? brain "fog", vertigo, anxiety? If so your Fibro might be in fact a mycoplasma infection or possibly Lymes. Can you give me a full report of your symptoms? Search www.immed.org and look under AI diseases/chronic illness.
148532 tn?1216640562 I too am an RN and post 2 year treatment and have elevated CRP, sed rate up and down, positive RA and Sjogrens. My rheumatologist thinks the with the years of HCV and then Tx. Avatar f tn Is there ANY treatment center in the US that my husband can go to without insurance or payment before service?
Avatar f tn I am on the Marshall Protocol and have improved significantly from many diseases including Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome as well as Candidiasis, lyme disease, interstitial cyctitis and others. It takes a lot of fine tuning but if you have the stamina it works!
Avatar f tn Is fibromyalgia and hypercoaguability related? I have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia--(3 years ago)--but I also have a previous pulmonary embolism. The doctor who treated my P.E., said that she had to prescribe more warfarin for me than she ever had to for any other patient in her 20 year career. She specializes in treating post-operative emboli. Every week I had my blood drawn to gauge how much my warfarin dosage should be. Every week for months it was increased.
Avatar f tn As for the treatment-center thing... BEST 4 weeks of my life. I did 28-days in a great facility here in Houston, and it changed my life. I made a lot of lifelong friends... Did more soul-searching (and subsequent soul-finding) that I've ever done in my life... Developed all of my current good habits... Came up with a 'discharge-plan' so I had a clue where to go & what to do 'AFTER REHAB'...
