Avatar f tn So I have been dealing with constant issues for almost a year now. From chest pain and rib pain to dizziness and tremors. At the begining of the year I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia. And a few months ago hyperthyroidism. Some symptoms resolved and new ones show up. Now I have this pain in my armpit and it feels like it's swollen. I do not feel any swollen lymph nodes. I get pain into my ribs and a soreness that wraps around to my ribs in my back. I'm so sick of going to the dr.
Avatar n tn I get this along with my fibromyalgia, but people without fibromyalgia can experience this also. It can go away on its own or your doctor may want to treat it with an anti-inflammatory medication. It could also just be your muscles in your chest tightening up - I also experience this and it goes along with fibro. Fibromyalgia is diagnosed based on having multiple tender points and performing a series of tests to rule out other conditions.
1374679 tn?1278668708 I have read about other ppl having the same symptoms as mine when waking with pain around the ribs - difficulty moving, etc... in the morning... I just wanted to say - I saw an internal specialist about my problem. He advised that it is fluid in the joints (and between the ribs) this is what causes the pain as the ribs are spread apart, when we get up and urinate and walk around have coffee , juice, milk, water etc...
Avatar n tn along with contstant muscle fatigue. I see a rheumotologist for my fibromyalgia.. who says these are all symptoms of Fibro.. He has prescribed provigil, plaquinil, voltaren and just recently lyrica. They seem to help take the edge off ... I hope this helps you!
363281 tn?1643235611 It could have been an anxiety attack that worsened the symptoms of fibromyalgia. I would see a standard doctor and have the fibromyalgia checked out and see if that can be treated. Anxiety disorder is of course treatable with medication, talk therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy but if its worsening a physical disability that must be treated as well.
Avatar f tn I'm a 16 year old girl and I have overwhelming discomfort in my ribs. It mostly hurts when i lay on my back. It just feels like my ribs are trying to sink in. They sometimes make a crackling and popping Noise when I move a certain way. I know they are not broke or fractured. I just don't know what to do. I cry myself to sleep sometimes because it hurts so bad. My mom tells me to get over it but I can't.
Avatar f tn What does fibromyalgia feel like? I am having weird pains in my skin and bones and I'm trying to find out if that is what's happening to me. It is random grapefruit sized sections of skin that ache so bad and are very sensitive to touch and temperature. Sometimes it is a shooting pain through my bone combined with the skin sensitivity, but usually it is just a constant dull ache. Sometimes it is in my hand, like it is right now. Sometimes it is in my leg or my ribs or anywhere.
Avatar f tn Does anyone have periodic chest pain with their fibromyalgia? I get it on the left side, higher than the heart, almost like a rib pain or something. I wondered if anyone else has this?
428021 tn?1203669150 At 1st I kept thinking there was something wrong with my mattress and eventually flipped it. Then the pain got worse and I grabbed my ribs and realized it was my body and not the bed (I know... a little slow on that one). Now it has gotten so painful that I can't sleep in any position but on my back. I have a little swelling too, but mostly just pain nearly everywhere I touch on my right rib area.
Avatar f tn Yes, I am also thinking fibromyalgia. Generally, the thing that helps w/ fibro is good sleep. A friend of mine takes benadryl, but my dr. said he was not a big fan of benadryl, so I take a prescription that helps me sleep. The vit D, B12, thyroid and autoimmune work-up is highly suggested. Some things that can trigger fibromyalgia is stress, lack of sleep and sugar.
671285 tn?1292660161 If the symptoms persist then other possibilities like Tietze’s syndrome, injury to the ribs and fibromyalgia have to be ruled out.It will be best to consult an orthopedician in that case. Hope it helps. Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional doubts.
Avatar n tn I am a type 1 diabetic and have been for 32 years, I have fibromyalgia, arthritis with joint replacements and I am 39 years old.
Avatar m tn On the bottom of my ribs in one area about the size of a silver dollar I have this pain on my ribs. Now I have to admit that I do rub it and I know that's not helping. below it on the skin is like a bruise that just keeps lingering, I guess from all the rubbing I do. I've had x rays, CT scans, MRIs, I do have diverticulosis and I have had a endoscopy (negative) and a colonoscopy ( found 2 benign polyps.) If I don't eat Activia everyday then I'm toast.
Avatar f tn Okay I have been trying for a year to find answers to my symptoms, but the only thing my Doctor says is anxiety. It started almost a year ago with my heart feeling like it was going to beat right out of my back, and yes I had anxiety because I thought it was my heart but I went to the hospital had stress test and echo but found no problem just high BP and now have that under control.
Avatar m tn Hello, For the last year or so, I've had an odd pain and tingling sensation in my upper left abdomen, immediately below the ribs. This isn't constant, but when it occurs, it usually lasts for a week or two. When it's there, there is definite tenderness when I poke the area, and the pain is a sharp pain, maybe a 3 out of 10 on the pain scale. I haven't been able to link any other circumstances (menstrual cycle, eating habits, etc) to this pain.
Avatar n tn The pain is as if a muscle underneath the ribs is being inflated and tries to burst out from the ribs. I am not a medical guy but this is what I feel.
665881 tn?1248926997 s not that! Or maybe it could be fibromyalgia?? what is the tingling symptoms of fibro like??? ahhh this is sooo bloody horrible! PS i am a 20 year old Female with a 7 month old daughter just to let you know a little of my background and i don't have any STDS/diseases etc... thanks heaps, hope you can help.
Avatar f tn I have a pain in my left side, below my ribs. It seems to be focused at different areas all the time. It will be around where my pelvic bone is, or it will be just below the ribs. Sometimes even around my back, tho less often there. It feels like a stabbing pain. And it comes & goes. Is this related to my bowels? My ovaries (I'm past menopause), something else? I had 2 C-sections (which were done badly) & have a scar stretching from one side to the other.
Avatar n tn i have pain in my rib cage on both sides an sometimed it radiates toward my back. my ribs seem to always be swollen. the right side is always worse but both sides hurt really bad. at night sometimes i cant lay on my back bc it makes it hard to breath and hurts badly so i try rolling on my sides, usually thats helps a little but im still in pain. i also get sharp pain in my lower sternum. my ribs and back seem to be super tender to the touch. ive had x-rays but they showed nothing.
Avatar f tn ve been having pain on my right side-up in my rib cage, This is accompanied by the inability to get a deep breath. Seems to get worse when I eat. It hurts to push on those ribs. Pain wraps around my back. Does this sound like fibromyalgia pain?? Any thoughts from anyone? I also have constant belching and i don't know why but I think it may be related? I've had two chest x-rays and rib x-rays and abdominal ultrasounds. Now my dr wants to do an endoscopy.
267076 tn?1270674331 I have Fibromyalgia also and a lot of the same symptoms. My neck and shoulders ache and feel like they are dragging me down. My legs feel so heavy and tired I prefer stairs to a grade or slant. Exercise is at a minimum - it can tear the muscles and jangle the nerves. You should exercise for about 5 minutes three times a day. When you stretch, hold the muscles for 5 -10 seconds and stop exercising before you feel pain. Gentle exercise is best for Fibromyalgia.
