fibromyalgia

Avatar m tn every medicine I had been put on has been problems and I have been taken off all for Fibromyalgia, osteoporosis, and arthritis. Now, my right eye is getting fuzzy, not every day, but more days all the time. My doctor has said although I need back surgery, be careful doing that because it will possibly make your fibromyalgia worse. Will I ever be able to try medicines again? I have an allergy from them...swollen tongue and throat type but, can that ever change???/ Thanks.
Avatar f tn Absolutely in postmenopaual women especially, but then sunshine is a very good source and the skin manufactures the vitamin. Many causes are implicated in fibromyalgia but then nothing proved.

3191241 tn?1345032381 As far as the symptoms stemming from Fibromyalgia itself go, look at natural ways of symptom management, like meditation, magnesium chloride and aromatherapy oils baths, anti-FMS diet, etc. I believe Undenatured Whey Protein Powder to raise Glutathione levels, will definitely help raise sex drive over time.
Avatar m tn I read an article that says if your lactose intolerant you can retrain your body to eat and drink dairy again by using Lactagen and therefore avoid getting Osteoporosis. I knew something would eventually come to light.
Avatar f tn In addition, I have many of its symptoms such as IBS, restless leg syndrome, depression, chronic pain, leg spasms, limb twitching and involuntary moment, flu like symptoms daily, osteoporosis, scoliosis, degenerative disc disease involving 6 bulging disc, bone spurs down my spine, and stenosis. It is very difficult but I guess it could always be worse. I had to stop working a year and a half ago.

Avatar f tn I don't think many health practitioners are aware of this, but I could be wrong. If you have fibro, CFIDS/ME or an autoimmune condition, I highly recommend getting a DEXA scan to rule out osteopenia and/or osteoporosis. And this includes the male members here as well... I've seen a few men on the research protocol I'm on who have been diagnosed with either one of these two conditions.
Avatar m tn Mother: Fibromyalgia, Osteoporosis, Grandmother: Hypothyroidism, Osteoporosis, Arthritis, Brother: Psoriasis. I asked my Doctor to check my Hormone levels but He said there is nothing that would cause this pain. I do not know if he tested my TSH levels. I am going to check this week and see if there is any other test I can do. Does this sound like Hyper/Hypo Thyrodism? Fibromyalgia?

Avatar f tn Does anyone who has been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia know of the best medication to take to help relieve the discomfort associated with this disease?
Avatar f tn I have had symptoms that have been increasing over the years. I am now 54 years old and have tried to stay in shape and stay active and have kept my weight down most of my life (has gone up 10 lbs in the last year). I have an elevated ANA-IFA Titer that is 1.16 homogeonous, ELISA normal, normal SED rate, normal thyroid levels, CRP has been elevated in the past but not with my last labs.
Avatar f tn Yes, I have many of the symptoms you described. Thank you for your comments. Good to know I am not the only one with all these problems. I may try the hormones see if they help.
Avatar n tn I am a 22 year old female and after doing a bit of research it sounds as though I have several symptoms that occur under fibromyalgia. I have had throughout my entire life a bizarre amount of muscle problems and pain. In recent times (last 5-6 months) I have had occasions where my body and skin hurts so much that even my shirt is hurting it. This isn't an everyday, or even every week, event but it has happened probably 5 or 6 time.
Avatar f tn A diagnosis of fibromyalgia may still be made if a person has less than the 11 of the required tender points so long as they have widespread pain and many of the common symptoms and associated syndromes connected to fibromyalgia, such as sleep disorders and irritable bowel syndrome. If a patient has some symptoms but does not meet the tender point criterion, a diagnosis of "possible fibromyalgia syndrome" may be assigned.

Avatar n tn 05 for well over 30 years now, and I have never had any hyper symptoms. In fact I had lingering hypo symptoms until learning about the importance of Free T3 here on the Forum. Got mine tested and it was confirmed as low in the range. convinced my doctor to switch me to an NDT type med. Now my Free T3 is 3.9 (range of 2.3 - 4.2) and Free T4 is .84 (range of .60 0 1.50), and I feel best ever.

483733 tn?1326798446 I have fibromyalgia but also have Lupus &/or Rheumatoid arthritis. My hands and fingers have gotten very swollen and sore. I'm trying to figure out which symptoms are auto-immune and which are fibro. Can you get this swelling and pain with fibro?
Avatar n tn The doctors she has seen say it is to do with her bones and conditions such as arthritis and osteoporosis have been suggested but she is adement that it is her muscles that are the problem. She has likened the pain to chronic arthritis (but in her muscles), and also extremely servere cramp. Movement has become a massive issue, when it is common that she'd be unable to lift her arm more than six inches. She suffers from bouts of dizziness and is short of breath regularly along with this.
