Sometimes numbness can occur with Fibromyalgia. It's a common neurological symptom of Fibro. I have numbness in my left foot due to nerve dysfunction in my spine. My case is somewhat severe in that I have some other co-occurring conditions along with my Fibromyalgia.

Avatar f tn The left side of my body from head to toe has weakness, numbness, uncoordinated, pain, burning foot, numbness that wraps around my leg like an ace bandage, and sometimes over sensitive when touched. Along with all that fun stuff, short term memory loss, bowl & urinating issues. So in short I've lost about 25 - 30% usage on my left side, unable to walk without a limp. (In Feb 2000 I lost feeling for 2 weeks, but it all came back except for a little numbness still in my face).
Avatar n tn I've had an increase of numbing in my legs and arms. Numbness first started years ago in my left leg ankle area, with periods of numbness that seemed extreme on the lateral side of my left foot. The severity went away, but some numbness feeling stayed. Last year I rested my left ankle over my right ankle and I had bad numbness in the right side; the intensity went away, but I still have some numbness left. Every time I tell my provider, I'm told to tell me if it gets worse.

Monster The descriptions of fibromyalgia symptoms read to me like a newspaper horoscope: the number of symptoms described can apply to just about any ambulatory human being. The typical medications indicated seem to antidepressants and pain relievers. Please give us the Clif's Notes version of fibromyalgia and if diagnosed, what are the treatments.
Avatar n tn The symptoms of stroke can last from few hrs to few days. Fibromyalgia and anxiety can both cause these symptoms like numbness and cramps. Keep us posted on the results of your neurological exam and if you need more information.
Avatar f tn My doctors are considering a diagnosis of fibromyalgia, contingent upon the results of a recent biopsy to determine if Sjogren's is a factor. Can fibromyalgia be the cause of my symptoms that cycle (recurring fevers, rash, fatigue, pain, blurry vision, and numbness in hands and feet)? I've heard of it being a factor in regard to fatigue and pain, but am unsure about vision, rash, numbness, and especially fevers.
Avatar n tn I started having tingling in my legs approximately 5 weeks with no other symptoms. My general practitioner ordered a MIR of the lower spine and it came back with light to moderate arthritis but no pinched nerves. After approx 3 weeks of the legs tingling I than developed tingling in my arms, face and back of head. At times the tingling turns into a burning sensation and numbness. I was sent to a neurologist. I had MIRs on my head and upper spine and they both came back fine.
Avatar n tn Hi, my name is lindsey and i am 18 years old and at first i had experienced severe back lower back pain. I then had some stroke symptoms like numbness, tingling sensations etc associated with pain in my lower back and neck. I had seen many doctors and run many tests incuding xrays, mri's and others. i have taken muscle relaxers, 800 mg ibeuprofen, and more than i forget. i went to a neurologist and they did some more tests which all came out clear.
2010625 tn?1329372056 Do you have fibromyalgia? It was all over body numbness. I wondered if it might be my body's kind of reaction to being in pain for so long?
Avatar n tn Transient one-sided body weakness/numbness (lasting for example for minutes up to 30 minutes then resolving) could be due to a migraine (the aura of migraine, in which case following the numbness, a headache occurs) or seizures. Also, given the history of fibromyalgia, underlying pain/psychosocial may be the source of the symptoms. You would benefit from evaluation by a neurologist. The MRI will be helpful to evaluate for many possibilities.
1364792 tn?1278051187 The symptoms first started out with chest pains and now have increased to random pains and numbness all over my body, headaches, sinus/allergy symptoms, dizziness, and vision problems. My doctor thinks that i might have an anxiety problem but i have never been much of an anxious person so i did some research and fibromyalgia seemed to go along with some of my symptoms.. i was just wondering what other people thought.. is it fibromyalgia, anxiety, or something else? I want opinions! Thanks!
Avatar f tn This tingling and numbness is generally persistent, right? Or are you having episodes of tingling/numbness? Fibromyalgia can easily be ruled out by testing the pain points (have a GP do this) attributed to the disease. If you don't feel pain when they are stimulated, then you probably don't have fibromyalgia. Issues with blushing are related to the vagus nerve, I believe, which runs down your neck and near your heart.

1184051 tn?1264435308 /or RA and when I told him my symptoms he said they were all due to fibromyalgia. It really made me mad that he wouldn't take them seriously and didn't even want to treat me for fibro. I'm going to press my family doctor to start a treatment regimen.
766337 tn?1235079359 You need to ask your doctor about Lyrica. It really sounds like you are suffering from Fibromyalgia. I have similar symptoms that come and go, but are never persistent or as severe as what you are describing. My doctor told me it sounds like I might have Fibromyalgia, but I do not feel like my symptoms are severe enough to qualify for it. Like I said, my pain comes and goes, and it spreads throughout my body & my joints.
591884 tn?1234201709 My main problem is numbness and tingling and sometimes muscle cramping. This disease make you feel very alone. I had an mri scan with and without contrast in September and will have another on this September. Nothing showed up on the mri scan.
Avatar f tn There is no medical test for Fibromyalgia, however, there are symptoms and certain tender spots on the body that help to make the dx. There is no cure for fibromyalgia. Hope this helps. One thing for sure, keep a medical journal of ALL your symptoms, dates and time. This helps the doctor to make an accurate diagnosis. It also helps you to take a step back and look at the health issues you have.
