There is presence of specific tender points in these areas that trigger the pain. Along with this there is morning stiffness in the muscles, brain fog, dizziness and other neurological symptoms. Since you are suffering from pain specifically located at the joints, and it started after the flu, the pains are related to the viral infection.

Avatar m tn Hello, I was wondering what the typical symptoms/ triggers would be for possible fibromyalgia. After lifting a water jug for the bubbler @ work I experienced a shooting pain in the left side of my neck. Since this event I have been experiencing constant spasm in my neck/trapezius for approx 7 months w/o any relief in symptoms. X-ray revealed nothing, and I have been through chiropractic and physical therapy with marginal relief at best ( ~ 24 hours.
Avatar f tn Hip pain can be caused by a variety of problems. Were it FMS causing the pain you would likely be feeling more than just pain in that one area. Since you do not mention any other symptoms, i'm more inclined to feel it could be due to your disk. I hope you have received your test results or get them soon so you will have more answers. Take care.
