Common Questions and Answers about Fibromyalgia symptoms hip pain

fibromyalgia

Avatar f tn Hip pain can be caused by a variety of problems. Were it FMS causing the pain you would likely be feeling more than just pain in that one area. Since you do not mention any other symptoms, i'm more inclined to feel it could be due to your disk. I hope you have received your test results or get them soon so you will have more answers. Take care.
230948 tn?1235844329 I have heard of people having hip bursitis with your type of pain, or even pain from sciatica can cause hip pain, which I have, but typically, in order to be diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, you need to have pain in at least 11 of the 18 tender point identified by Rheumatologist for diagnostic purposes. Have you been seen by a Rheumatologist? They would be the doctor best fit to diagnose Fibromyalgia. I have posted a link here from our website (MedHelp) of the common symptoms of Fibromyalgia.
Avatar m tn I myself have both Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. And most of the symptoms you are having sound like the symptoms I have. Here is a website you can go to, to learn more about Fibromyalgia http://www.fibromyalgia-symptoms.org/fibromyalgia_diagnosis.html If you decide to go to a doctor and ask them if you may have Fibromyalgia, going to a neurologist won't help, you have to go to a doctor that specializes specifically in Fibromyalgia.
Avatar n tn This week the cool weather gave me an horrible bursitis pain in my hip and also increased the pain all around my body caused by fibromyalgia. Had to have cortisone shot in my hip..couldn't take the pain anymore and not a single pill was able to give me any relief. Hoping the cortisone shot starts working ASAP.
Avatar f tn I have very similar hip pain, stiff hands and the backs of my wrists HURT. My Dr just ran a series of tests -- B12 & vitamin D levels, checked for thyroid, and ANA levels, as well as checking my liver & kidney functioning. She just referred me to a rheumatologist for further evaluaiton after my ANA test came back positive and all other tests were normal except my ultra low D levels (8 instead of 30-60). She thinks I may have fibromyalgia or an autoimmune illness.
Avatar f tn My symptoms are pretty classic, IBS, neck pain, hip pain, occasional swelling, etc. (magnesium, cymbalta, lyrica, yaz). I also have vulvar vestibuluitis (with 2 unsuccessful tissue excisions), a microadenoma on the pituitary gland (with slightly increased prolactin level), family history of severe juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, maternal hx of hypothyroidism, very low levels of IGA, and IBS. I found some old tests in a drawer that showed my thyroid antibody level at 135.
Avatar n tn I'm 47, female and after 8 years of progressively worse hip pain blamed on fibromyalgia, controlled with oxycontin, I insisted on a MRI of my hips. The MRI showed a fluid signal in the superior labrum at the 12:00 to 1:00 position with a likely cause listed as a labrum tear. There is also mild edema within the gluteus medius and minimus tendons and edema around the gluteus maximus. There is also thickening of the gluteus minimus and medius.
5505362 tn?1368959664 I have also have pain in hip which radiates from right thigh around the back which worsens with standing, eases a little with rest. My problem is with the Doctors who are obsessed with diagnosing everything on my current diseases, which I have to say is weeing me off to say the least. I did have a right Pyloplasty many years before a diagnosis was made of Multiple Sclerosis & Fibromyalgia which has left me so sensitive to conventional medication.
Avatar n tn I visit my doctor regularly the last time about 2 months ago. Over the past few days I have developed severe pain in my left hip. The worst of the pain is on the top of my hip and radiates around to my back and to my abdomen area and down the front of my pelvis into the thigh. Tonight the pain is very bad on a scale of 1-10 it is a 9.5.. My leg nearly went out from underneath me a couple times. The bursitis has never been this bad before and I am not sure what is going on.
681148 tn?1437661591 t had dysplasia but one of the first non-neorological symptoms I had was sudden severe pain in left hip where I couldn't lift my leg. Since then, months later, I go through phases where my knee will hyperflex (slightly, thank goodness) without warning. I've been told this is bc of the tendons/FM. There are also days where I can't extend my arms at my side... they must be bent just a little to relieve pain. These things happen every couple of months and are painful enough.
Avatar f tn an ER doctor who she saw this week for extreme pain in the hip said he felt she should see a Rheumatologist. She has been worked up for Lupus and had had 3 ANAs come back positive, but not Lupus. She has almost become crippled by this hip problem and pain and pain meds and Neurontin do nothing to help. Her fatjher has Multiple Sclerosis and I am desperate to find out what is wrong with her. She is becoming very depressed to be so sick at such a young age. She also has IBS.
Avatar m tn Now her hepatitis has become active in the year 2009 the Symptoms of pain through her joints and back have become far more severe, where as she only suffered with it in her hips in the very begining. Does anyone know if Hepatitis C has a reaction towards Fibromyalgia causing it to Flare up? It just seems a coincidence that in the year 2009 her Hepatitis C has become active, and after all these years her Fibromyalgia has become more severe, is the the Hepatitis causing it?
10887108 tn?1413566493 The hip starts hurting, pain in the hip keeps you up at night, fllowed by terrible muscle spasms of your feet, ankles, muscles in your lower legs you didnt even realize you have, pretty soon fatigue is at max, even muscles in you fingers spasm. This lasts about a week, then begins to get better once again. Period of wellness seems to be abot 3-4 weeks, about a week at the apex of symptoms then back to about a month of relief.?
Avatar f tn I have fibromyalgia and my whole back is screwed up so in in constant pain all the time.... But, with the fibro I am so sensitive to the touch and I have no energy to do anything because my muscles are exhausted from all the pain. I can't even go up a flight of stairs d ue to my legs have no strength like I just did 5k run and my legs can't carry me any longer. The pain is so strong.....
Avatar f tn I also have chronic neck, back and hip pain. This has been going on for a long time now, over a year. I just live with the pain. I am tired throughout the day. I cannot sleep at night. I was wondering if all of this could be due to fibromyalgia?
Avatar f tn I have always had a pain that consums my hip joints - not an arthritic pain, but an unbearable pain that consumed my hip joints with no relief - mostly one week prior to menstral cycle in the past. I have also experienced pain in my right crook of my leg prior to surgery sometimes lasting just a few minutes, other times lasting days. Since the surgery the hip pain (again, not an achy joint kind of pain. I have that too, but only in my left hip joint) has been constant.
Avatar f tn For the last three years following one of my 3 foot surgeries I have had pain in my left hip. Over the past year My Doctor has treated me for Bursitis with cortisone injections and spinal block but to no avail. The pain is now in my entire left leg, left shoulder and arm along with headaches on the left side of my head and neck. My profession is equestrian/trainer and it has become increasingly more difficult to work with the horses. When I ride if I ride for over two hours I am in tears!
Avatar f tn Have they ruled out fibromyalgia ? My mother has that and complains of the same symptoms. There is medication you can try to see if it improves your symptoms. I hope you get to feeling better soon!
Avatar f tn long-term, body-wide pain and tender points in joints, muscles, tendons, and other soft tissues. Fibromyalgia has also been linked to fatigue, morning stiffness, sleep problems, headaches, numbness in hands and feet, depression, and anxiety." On the other hand though, it can occur in your 20's. I was diagnosed after years of pain when I was 25.
Avatar f tn I have outer hip pain and groin. Hip cyst has show with tear. The pain in hips may not completely go with surgery I am told. He says my back is separate from my hip pain. The femoral head and neck are deformed. I have pain in my fingers, all the above I think is due to arthritis???? Now for the firbro part. I used to just have different size painful lumps and masses on my ribcage for about 10 years these are painful and flare up often, they are moveable.
Avatar f tn I ended up with a diagnosis of Fibromyalgia when in fact the top 1/4 of my sternum was sitting horizontally because I had an undiagnosed dislocated Sterno-Manubrial Joint (angle of louis). There was an injury that seemed minor at the time. My symptoms expanded from initial shoulder and back pain > neck pain > hip pain > throat pain > jaw pain *and it wasn't until more than 5 years later* that I got noticeable rib or chest pain.
Avatar f tn I suffer a burning pain just below my right rib area and dizziness. My pain in lower back into right hip and cervical/neck pain are unreal. My headaches come nearly everyday and the fatigue is crushing. I have never been diagnosed with fibromyalgia however, I was diagnosed with CFIDS twenty years ago whe I was your age. I treated with alternative medicine for years and got some relief but since April of this year I've gotten much worse. I've had evry test and scan known to man...
Avatar n tn ago with quarter sized itchy rash with blisters at bottom of spine. It reocurrs approx. once a month--with pain going to hip and down the leg, with numbness and tingling in foot. One dr. took blood test & advised it was zoster; a dermatologist took a skin sample (after rash had dried up) and said it was simplex. I'm now having a endoscopy to test for celiac disease. The celiac panelI had for that showed elevation, but not conclusive.
