Avatar m tn m sure you can buy the supplements from other suppliers. Keep in mind that the hair analysis, which is what everyone else is telling you, probably didn't tell you anything all that useful, as it's very unlikely unless you eat horribly that you're deficient in anything.
Avatar f tn The major symptoms of fibromyalgia include multifocal pain, fatigue, sleep disturbances, and cognitive or memory problems. Other symptoms may include psychological distress, impaired functioning, and sexual dysfunction. The pathophysiology of fibromyalgia remains uncertain but is believed to be largely central in nature. In 1990 the American College of Rheumatology (ACR) published diagnostic research criteria for fibromyalgia.
Avatar n tn Peace everyone, I recently had suffered pain in my joints, knees and hands, analysis showed an ESR of 17 the first hour, and 43 the second. It is hard to walk, to hold my kid, or drive. For six months now and I am unable to know the problem, coz it was not that hard and I went to the wrong doctors, I mean not the same specialties. Now I knew the problem aand I need to know the treatment. What is it and what is the needed time for such treatment.
Avatar n tn If you think it's mercury, you can do a hair mineral analysis (www.tracelements.com), it will show you the level of your TISSUE mercury, also in relationship to the other minerals. From that point you have several options, chelation is not the only way to remove mercury, there are safer approaches (cilantro for mobilization, chlorella for binding the mercury in the gut and excreting it, etc.).
Avatar n tn s a lot o info there, or google fibromyalgia symptoms. My hair also hurts, more like my scalp. I feel that things are growing out of my head at times, drives me crazy. There are so many different symptoms for fibro, and then of course the symptoms overlap with other diseases, it throws me off a lot. Have you seen a nuero doctor? It might help. I hope I was able to help you some.
Avatar f tn am considering having a hair analysis for minerals and heavy mental elments. But some others think it is not as reliable as blood tests (blood tests for minerals are limited, less than 10 kinds of minerals as far as I know). How about urine tests for them? Which tests are more reliable? I am also thinking of test for bone density, but worried about the radiation of X rays! And for the tests, do you think we should stop taking the supplements 1 day before the tests?
Avatar f tn Hi there....hair analysis is good if you can abide by the guidelines....no hair color or highlight for a period of time before, no harsh shampoos or conditioners before for a period of time. And you will need someone to cut it for you as it has to be taken close to the root and in separate sections so you don't give yourself a bald spot. lol You can also use the hair down below is you need to and can't follow guidelines. I have had 2 done myself and it was an eye opening experience!
3161914 tn?1344102618 I took the saliva test and the results were accurate and confirmed my symptoms (high cortisol). I believe the hair test for metals is reliable but have not gone that route myself. I was tested for heavy metals based on one-shot oral chelation. I think the lab was Doctor's Data. I had all the symptoms of mercury poisoning and the test confirmed this. It also showed a fairly high degree of lead poisoning which surprised me.
1528307 tn?1336000554 How long after having a partial removal of the thyroid should the hair loss stop? I am 8 weeks post op and I feel loads better other than the "new" slight ear ringing, mild headache, pulsating sound in my head (I thought it was high BP, but nope), muscle pain (all over), and my lingering hair loss, and palps (palps only when doing heavy activity) Also, is the muscle pain and headaches "fibromyalgia" setting in?? Endocrinologist reported back all labs normal except Vit D.
Avatar m tn I am wondering if all of these seemingly unrelated symptoms could all be caused by my Fibromyalgia, or if there is something else going on. Any input or advice would be greatly appreciated! My symptoms are: Dizziness Daily headaches Itchiness all over my body at night Restless legs Thinning hair!
Avatar f tn Dear Amy, Oh, I think you may have Lupus. Your hair loss, feeling of glass in your eyes, seizures, plus the symptoms that led to a previous diagnosis of fibromyalgia, this points to Lupus, specifically Systemic Lupus Erythramatosis (not sure of spell) or SLE. Here is a great link that tells you everything you need to know about the disease, altho I'm sure there are many more: http://www.medicinenet.com/systemic_lupus/article.
1961084 tn?1325279027 Has anyone used Muscle Ezze with Valerian root for Fibromyalgia??? I got a sample from Chiropractor. I take Lyrica and Cymbalta for Fibromyalgia and Depression.
400516 tn?1256153367 Well the newest symptoms include, short-term memory loss, hair loss, and shooting pains from the arch of my foot up my legs. I have not slept a full night's sleep in .... a looong time. The dr. seems to think that alot of my symptoms/issues originate from that. He put me on an anti-depressant that I take before bed to try to help me sleep. I have been on it for a couple of weeks now, and have not noticed much of a change. I have no problem falling asleep, staying asleep is the problem.
Avatar f tn for about a year. Helped with hair thinning and other symptoms. Since then, moved and took new job. Symptoms have emerged along with new positive tests- HLA-B27 positive ,Cyclic Citrullinated Peptide Antibody- positive, Creatine Kinase, 147 (high end of normal) and Ferritin very low 8. No word from the Dr. or nurse except for my 6 week follow up. Aches and pains are getting worse along with fatigue... any advice?
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia by a rheumatologist in February. I have had off and on pain for over 8 years now. As soon as I would be ready to call the doctor the pain usually disappeared, just to return in the future. I've had a bunch of bloodwork done, everything was normal and they said it was fibromyalgia. Also, in February, I saw a neurologist who diagnosed me with post viral syndrome. I don't know what symptoms are what anymore.
Avatar f tn symptoms. She also performed a hair analysis. I will get the results of the hair analysis next week. The hair analysis shows minerals and certain vitamins you may be lacking or toxic. Mineral toxicities such as copper, have been linked to fibro. too. The docs are good with treating the symptoms, natural practitioners are good about finding the cause for your symptoms. If you are like many fibro.
Avatar n tn I am a 22 year old female and after doing a bit of research it sounds as though I have several symptoms that occur under fibromyalgia. I have had throughout my entire life a bizarre amount of muscle problems and pain. In recent times (last 5-6 months) I have had occasions where my body and skin hurts so much that even my shirt is hurting it. This isn't an everyday, or even every week, event but it has happened probably 5 or 6 time.
Avatar n tn Or heavy metal toxicities? How were they diagnosed and what were your symptoms? Do you believe in hair analysis?
Avatar f tn I have suffered with symptoms of hair loss/thinning, fatigue, dry skin for many years. I was diagnosed with Hashimotos Thyroiditis but with no treatment. My recent Thyroid test Free T4 is 0.9 and TSH panel value is 6.97. My doctor says thyroid is low but no medication is needed at this time. As mentioned, my hair is falling out so much that it is getting hard to style without seeing my scalp. I have insomnia, fatigue and irritability probably due to lack of sleep and weight gain.
