Avatar f tn I am new to this and haven't written about anything.I have been treated for fibromyalgia for over a year now. The dr. never really stated I have fibro. I'm being treated for high cholesterol and trigylcerides. I'm taking welchol powder once a day and trilipex for this. I'm taking lyrica 150mg. bid and mirapex at bedtime. I went to get a lab slip yesterday for blood work and was informed i needed to be fasting for my cholesterol and trigy. levels.
Avatar f tn http://www.medhelp.org/health_pages/Fibromyalgia/The-Latest-Research-on-Fibromyalgia/show/520?cid=39 Be sure to keep checking for more information.... some of the research is posted on a research website for mostly medical professionals. It is the best way to stay informed and make sure that your physician is informed.

Avatar f tn I was wondering how many of you, who have either a fibromyalgia or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/M.E. diagnosis works or worked in the medical field and/or have family members who are in the military... or live near a military base ?
485259 tn?1519047026 m glad you found the videos helpful. Dr. Ken Kasey is doing quite a bit of research in this area so hopefully it will become more mainstream in US, it is more so in Canada and Europe, I think. Maybe not mainstream, but more established than here. Doing something enjoyable is a good distraction, isn't it? Just have to make the first steps to do it some days and once you get going it does help. Thanks for the feedback, enjoy your day.
Avatar m tn I found this new research by Dr. Catherine M.Pittman - one of the foremost brain researchers in the country, to be interesting. We are finding through both animal and human research that the medication class of benzodiazepines may actually prevent learning, both neuronal and cognitive and may prevent long term anxiety recovery. Our work has shown that the neuronal process for learning and also the process for unlearning (called extinction) is slowed or prevented by this class of medications.
Avatar n tn Fibromyalgia can last forever. There are treatments and even possible cures out there (research protocols). Fatigue, dizziness and so many other symptoms are common in fibro patients and in fact, 29% of fibro patients have a positive ANA titer. I hope that you will consider joining us on MedHelp's fibro/CFS board. I'm the Community Leader there.
Avatar f tn Lowe from the Fibromyalgia Research Foundation supports the premise that most fibromyalgia patients are either hypothyroid or thyroid hormone resistant. To my opinion though we cannot find a better method to test thyroid function than Dr. Barnes Basal Temperature Test. (there are several versions now) I have devoted countless of hours, scanning through the studies and groundbreaking work of Dr. Barnes, The Father of Hypothyroidism, lol! Simply brilliant and way ahead of his time!
393685 tn?1425812522 //vitamincfoundation.org/videos/#BROWNSTEIN I think is a great source of information because is has many links to videos form “experts” and statistical data. It is kind of confusing because there are many links that jump off to other places but if you follow the links that apply to you there is a lot of good data. http://www.iodine4health.com/disease/thyroidisease/thyroid_disease.htm Nutritional sources of Iodine http://xxx.xxxxxxxxx.xxx.xxx Another Dr.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia in 2011, one of my worst symptoms was upper back pain, right in between my shoulder blades. Not even massages helped. In my experience, it was due to tension. I realized that my shoulders were often scrunched up. Even though it was hard to do at first because I was so tense, yoga helped immensely. Google 'yoga poses for back pain' and there's a lot of good videos that can help.

554442 tn?1221235225 Great fibro info ! Here is what Dr. Mark Shaw (author of "Beat Fibromyalgia and Fatigue") says about the possible triggers. I know I read the actual research study on this as well: Fibromyalgia/CFS can be caused by a whole range of factors. All of which, it is most likely your doctor or practitioner will not be able to diagnose.
Avatar f tn Since we have conditions that are relatively new and often misunderstood in the medical field, there are many members here who do their research and share that information with the other members.

591546 tn?1244636545 There are some good videos on YouTube about fibromyalgia. Also, you could print out some info. about fibro. and let him read it. Allow him to ask questions and you would benefit by learning all that you can about the condition in order to have factual answers. I don't think it's as important to have him understand, than it is to have him be supportive of your pain and the days you don't feel up to par. God bless and best wishes.
