fibromyalgia

Avatar f tn Hi Guys, I'm not sure if you have had a chance to check out this health page yet, but I'm adding a little bit here n' there. Today I added "infection as one possible cause of fibromyalgia" and the other day I added, "Restless Legs Syndrome is Common Among Female Patients With Fibromyalgia". So these are articles that you may want to consider printing our for your physician... especially since it is hot off the press !
Avatar f tn Isn't this great ? I did recently post a link to Dr. De Meirleir's new research that was presented at the International CFS/ME Conference in London: http://www.medhelp.org/posts/Fibromyalgia---CFS/New-Research-on-What-Causes-CFS-ME-by-Dr-Kenny-De-Meirleir--MD-PhD/show/963052 I've read articles written by Dr. DeMeirleir in the past. If I remember right, he is the founder of Red Labs, USA (now called VIP dx)....
Avatar f tn s daughter has Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and that was the inspiration for Mrs. Whittemore to start this national research institute.

4942618 tn?1361331784 Here is one of a number of articles on the web regarding his research. I will be starting his protocol in the near future. It doesn't cure it, of course, but provides relief. http://simmaronresearch.

Avatar f tn I really NEED SOMEONE with medical expertise to PLEASE help me with my puzzle... everyday there are new pieces, but they only create more questions, and still no answers! I am fairly intelligent and able to research, with a decent amount of understanding, but I'm just not finding any answers! My recent bloodwork, consistent with previous bloodwork, shows a positive ANA with 1:320 titer, and a nucleolar pattern. But the puzzling part is the antihistone antibodies 7.
Avatar f tn I am a medical student doing a research project. I was given a task to produce a five-year plan to tackle the assigned health problem within a specific population. So, the assigned health problem is febrile illness and I chose the USA population, which means febrile illness in returning travelers or international travelers and how the USA advises and tries to reduce travel related illness in its population. Hence, I need to find articles related to: 1. epidemiology of the problem 2.
Avatar f tn MedHelp just added "Health Pages" for our board ! You can find the Health Pages to your right under "discussions". The Health Pages are a terrific resource for those of us who want to post treatments, research, news & articles and other helpful information on fibromyalgia and CFS/ME. I know I often repeat myself on the board... so I will probably be posting info on the Health Pages soon.
Avatar f tn Hello. I am 27 years old and since I was 16 I have been in chronic pain. Since I have health problems with my stomach, heart, back and migraines every time a new pain would come up, doctors would always chalk it up to one of my existing conditions. Now that I have been researching I think it's possible that I have fibromyalgia. I have pain all the time in all different spots. I feel like I'm 90. I have horrible stomach and digestion problems.
326947 tn?1252591233 As you can see, there is a lot of information here about fibromyalgia, and one of the most recent articles has the answer to your question. The pain is NOT "in your head", like so many doctors have told their patients. The problem is that pharmaceuticals are dangerous, yet the pain is so bad that patients just want to be relieved of the intense pain and are willing to try just about anything, including taking the pharmaceuticals.
Avatar f tn I had been misdiagnosed many years prior with Fibromyalgia. I just have a strong feeling that fibromyalgia is in realty Lyme and Bart's.
462570 tn?1273632977 s not a possible option for Fibromyalgia since Neurontin is used off label for many things including Fibromyalgia and was once targeted specifically for Diabetic neuropathy. As far as the neurotransmitter and the cerebral and synovial fluid theory you speak of- are you possibly referencing the ideas about the Substance P in the brain and the theories surrounding the oversensitive central nervous system (CNS)?
Avatar f tn As I was recently putting together research on this, I was coming across a great number of such articles and reports in medical literature and journals. Some, linked vaccines to Fibromyalgia and RA. Vaccinations are just another source for possible infections and unfortunately in your case you are at a greater risk! So pain may not be the only issue. After getting vaccinated, some of the resulting chronic infections may persist for years!
Avatar n tn I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia after many years of tests and nothing definative until the doc decided it was fibro. I have severe pain and some days I can't get out of bedl Please help me help my doc with the most current treatment for fibromyalgia.
Avatar m tn But in 2021, it is not addressed the same way. And, according to a new research article they confirm that patients who have the virus can marry and even have children. And, they mention that untraceable level of the virus is equal to untransmissible status. Further, when I was going through some articles, I read there are 2 cases of complete cure of HIV as well. Hereby, I would like to know the opinion from the medhelp experts regarding my understanding(above passage) about the disease.

Avatar m tn I found this new research by Dr. Catherine M.Pittman - one of the foremost brain researchers in the country, to be interesting. We are finding through both animal and human research that the medication class of benzodiazepines may actually prevent learning, both neuronal and cognitive and may prevent long term anxiety recovery. Our work has shown that the neuronal process for learning and also the process for unlearning (called extinction) is slowed or prevented by this class of medications.
Avatar f tn Hi there - I am a 24 year old female with a history of fibromyalgia/chronic pain (w/ many of the symptoms of hyperparathyroidism). I went in for a physical a couple of weeks ago and for the first time ever, had a high calcium of 10.7. The Dr. repeated the test and today it was normal at 9.4. I did a lot of research when I first saw that it was elevated and I was convinced that I had hyperparathyroidism after reading about the symptoms and others' experiences.
Avatar m tn Mark Shaw also discusses this in one of his articles about CFS and fibromyalgia (he has both conditions). I guess that is what immune dysfunction is. (insert frowny face here !
198419 tn?1360242356 m excited that there is a possible plan that may tell the tale of what med caused my reaction, but am also concerned that she was only able to find 2 articles. Good thing is the articles are ref. 2 people who did develop a reaction after 6 months. One was skin necrosis, the other anaphylaxis. I told her I would send anything I find to supplement her efforts.
