I am having increasing trouble with walking and, although I don't know if this is going to help, I think it's worth a shot. So far I have found out a number of interesting things. My flexibility is okay for my age (although it seems worse to me than it used to be), but I have weakness in my hip flexors and in my ankle muscles.

I had a little fun when she wanted to check range of motion...I giggled...she asked what was funny and I said remember I have EDS. After my evaluation she decided there was no way anyone should be doing manipulations to my body. I was glad. She said ok stretch and strengthening it is for you. She also said she would not be pushing down on my head due to my PFD.

Avatar f tn Chiropractic helps, too. But, it works best in conjunction with physical therapy. Once you know which physical therapy exercises work best, you can continue to do them on your own. You do need to take advantage of every opportunity you find to get off your feet during the work day. Maybe during the next vacation or something you'll have the opportunity to see a physical therapist. I have issues with sciatica, which affects my hips knees and the bottom of my feet.

In our case it has shown no relief. We have an appt. with a new rheum next week at a large childrens hospital hoping for some further insite or direction. Both my pediatrician and physical therapist do not believe in our case it is fibromyalgia due to her continued infection.

The appt. was alot of coverage and overwhelming so as soon as the report comes in I will have a better understanding as to the blockage and everything going on. Have been to physical therapy in the past but very short term. 3 sessions. Oh and EDS dx as well. Waiting on my insurance approval for PT.....found isometric cervical exercises on Mayfield Clinic website but they make me dizzy, lol.

Probably until after she's born I will be going to physical therapy twice a week to try and fix all of these and I have to wear a pelvic belt 24/7 And people tried telling me these were normal pregnancy pains!
