fibromyalgia

Avatar m tn I'm new here and I was diagnosed w/ fibre in 1994. Could you please tell me what a low oxalate diet. I am in so much pain. Narcotics barely dull the pain. I'm willing to try anything.
Avatar f tn Find a doctor that will work with you to ease the pain. Find one that believes fibromyalgia is real. It is easier in this day and age to do so. A few short years ago, not so much. My doctor (a few years back) looked at me like I had a mental condition when I told him my skin hurts. Finding a shower head that didn't feel like piercing needles was a task, but finally figured that out. It is hard to explain pain.
1033336 tn?1252506131 The characteristic feature of Fibromyalgia is a muscle pain mostly in neck, back, thighs, and hips. There is presence of specific tender points in these areas that trigger the pain. Along with this there is morning stiffness in the muscles, brain fog, dizziness and other neurological symptoms. Since you are suffering from pain specifically located at the joints, and it started after the flu, the pains are related to the viral infection.
Avatar m tn Hey, not sure I'm in the right arena but I'll try. I am 30 years old and for about 20 years of my life I have experienced strange symptoms which I think are nerve related but most specialists think otherwise. I have not seen a neurologist because I have been told not to bother. The earliest thing I remember is jumping into a pool and trying to flip. I landed in an awkward position and my whole life side hurt and felt tingily if that makes any sense.
Avatar f tn I had so much pain that I could hardly crawl in the door yesterday. The pain was everywhere upper back, legs, hips, upper arms and neck. It seems like this condition happens when I have not much pain and try to get everything I need to do in a couple days and then the next day I cannot move. On a good day if I sit for more than 20-30 minutes I stiffen up and takes a while to move again at all. My knees joints are very painful.
Avatar n tn From a concerned person whom has been living in pain for many years!!!

Avatar f tn Iam a mother with 2 young children and I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia 4 years ago. Since then I have been suffering with extreme pain that never lets up. I am curious if anyone else has ideas on which medicines work better for pain. I also suffer from depression and anxiety issues. I also have difficulty sleeping, I feel so alone, because neither my family or friends understand my problems. They think I do not really have medical problems. I appreciate if anyone replies!
Avatar n tn I have had fibromyalgia for 10 years. This past August of 06 I filed for short term disabilty, then when to long term disabilty. Avatar n tn ve also had fibromyalgia for years, but high doses of Trazadone and Effexor have treated the pain mostly. But I still have a whole host of other diseases commonly seen in fibromyalgia sufferers due to the central nervous system overreacting to stimuli. So it can affect the pulmonary system, esophagus, IBS, chronic fatigue system, heartburn, noncardiac chest pain, etc. etc.

710094 tn?1229308706 Less blood could be flowing to your brain and/or it is overwhelmed by pain signals . Take omega 3 fish and flax oils and gingko biloba along with good b vitamins / multivitamins . Brain fog is common in chronic pain conditions . Also try to avoid wheat completely for few days and see it helps (wheat gluten allergy) , Take lots of rest , I am taking cymbalta and it has helped me with pain and brain function . Never loose hope , we are in this together , you will feel better soon .

Avatar f tn Hello, I need opinions. I've had chronic foot pain for over two years. I've seen podiatrists, neurologists, rheumatologists, endocrinologists, chiropractors, alternative med doctors, and several other types of specialists. I've had a spinal tap, MRIs, X-rays, brain scans, ENGs, nerve conduction studies, TONS of bloodwork, and electrostimulation. I've bought new shoes, changed my diet drastically, detoxed my body, and so many other things to try to help.
