fibromyalgia

Avatar n tn Hi all, My mum has extremely painful Osteo and Rheumatoid Arthritis accompanied with Fibromyalgia. She is in constant pain and meds are not really working for her. with all this going on, it's causing her to have sleepless nights, trouble moving and depression, causing weight gain (obviously making it worse). It feels like a vicious circle. Her GP keeps putting meds down her neck and they're not working. I was hoping that someone could offer some advice or suggestions to help her out.
Avatar f tn I feel the fibromyalgia to. My remedies include icy hot/ ice packs/ exercise ball/ & stretching. That's all we can do, it helps a bit. Only 5 more weeks! Feel better soon!
Avatar m tn Their stress relieving exercises have reduced my pain and thereby reduce the amount of pain meds I take. www.theacpa.
Avatar f tn Exercise is one of the best remedies for fibromyalgia pain. weaning off the norco will be more mental than anything, but restless legs and generalized pain are some symptoms of decreasing the dose.
Avatar f tn I am 29 years old with severe fibromyalgia, arthritis, lower protruding disc damage to my spine and PTSD. I found out almost 3 weeks ago that I am pregnant. I am now almost 9 weeks pregnant! Still in shock as I didn't think I could conceive at all. (My little miracle). I am on morphine based drugs as well as many others. I have halved the morphine already which I am finding very painful but I am willing to do what ever it takes to have a healthy baby!
Avatar f tn Does anyone with FMS-fibromyalgia use a topical solution medication that really helps with pain in joints, arms and legs? My Doc prescribed Pennsaid which seems to help some, but is not consistently effective.
Avatar f tn The medications they have me on are for treating fibromyalgia but they are not saying that is what I have. My pain management dr thinks it may be from my treatment so he is sending me to a rheumatologist. I have tried the tramadol but I found myself in the bathroom at work crying my eyes out, begging the pain to stop. That is why I went back to the Norcos. I work long hours in a factory and my job is very demanding. Im sorry to hear of so many suffering, but it helps to know I am not alone.
Avatar f tn s hard to believe that absolutely no med works, though -- there are an awful lot of pain medications out there and also many natural remedies that have been used over the centuries, though they are generally much weaker than medications. Some people such as those with fibromyalgia have a problem with their central pain controls. Again, life is just odd. But has she really tried everything?
543791 tn?1216381777 I too experience this type of pain and it is part of fibromyalgia. Unless you have a bad disk in you low back or a pinched ankle nerve-this is probably just FMS. Your dr. may do tests to rule out anything else that it could be. Be honest with your describtion and journal your pains and other symptoms for your next dr. appointments.
209591 tn?1267414714 I am a 26 year old female that has been experiencing a burning pain in my chest cavity for a little over 19 months now. Afraid of what could be wrong, I never mentioned it to my PCP. A few months after it started, I had a scheduled appointment with my PCP due to being on Disability. During the appointment my chest was burning severly, and he noticed a change in the way my chest sounded.
Avatar f tn I am a 24 year old female with debilitating migraines(2-3x per week in frequency), crepitus in joints but more severe in shoulders, muscle pain, weakness and stiffness, neuralgia, tingling and numbness in hands and fatigue. I have had migraines with aura for about 12 years but all of the other symptoms started about 2 years ago.
2010625 tn?1329372056 I also want to ask if certain types of medications can cause it, or help it along? I was never in this horrible pain until I tried a bunch of different antipsychotics. Body aches was a side effect of a couple different ones I tried. I got off of them and immediately the pain went away, I thought that was it, that I was finally done with the body pain. I was off of them for two months pain free, then I start rapid cycling (bipolar), and had an anxiety episode, and during it the pain came back.
1075109 tn?1281835691 Having both of these chronic ailments I am obviously being treated with conventional medication. I am in South Africa and I have read about a lot of alternative therapy for the Fibromyalgia but I don't know how this will mix with my Bipolar Treatment. Can you help me understand this?
Avatar n tn I have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, I also have severe RLS (restless leg syndrome (in my arms and legs)) I wonder if I don't also have CFS. I am in such pain all the time and I am exhausted all the time. I noticed several people who post questions about Fibro mention that they have RLS also. I wonder if the two don't go hand in hand?
Avatar m tn s best to get your iron from foods such as spinach, sunflower seeds, sweet peas and beef. Essiac might help with the joint pain. (I have Fibromyalgia and Essiac really helps me especially during the summer months when there is any dampness in the air). I sincerely hope that these home remedies help you. Let us know how you're doing.
Avatar f tn There is one thing I tried after researching on the internet. Gabapentin (Neurontin) used for fibromyalgia pain. It helped calm me down, helped me to sleep at night (more so than any benzo). You could probably talk to your doctor about it. Some will prescribe it and some will not. And I have heard that it is a hit or miss. Some say that they had great luck with it and others it did nothing. I took 300mgs 3x day. It took away alot of my withdrawal symptoms. Not a miracle pilll but sure helped me.
Avatar f tn I have never felt right since the operation and have been having joint pain and stiffness all over my body but particularly my hands, feet, back and shoulders. I have also developed high blood pressure since the operation and am on Acebulotol for that. My doctor sent me for an xray for my back and hands. No problems can be seen in my hands, but I have arthritis in my back. My GP has given me some pain killers and Piascledine to stop it getting any worse and that’s it.
Avatar n tn What can be done about the chronic Fibromyalgia pain when I am allergic to pain medicines or the pain relievers do not give relief.
Avatar f tn It is not pure itch now. I feel a prickly pain under the itch. I also have idiopathic neuropathy and a bladder disease, interstitial cystitis, which is thought to be auto immune and, or allergy. I have tried all the home remedies and have been on Atarax for the past week. So far, it is not working. My dermatologist wants to try UV ultra light, but I feel it is too much like prednisone. I would prefer homeopathic treatments that are not invasive and trade one problem for another.

Avatar f tn m curious if the remedies in #3. are known to specifically help tongue pain? Have others had tongue pain that have been helped with those? Or are the suggestions just for pain in general? Yes, I see that stress could be a factor, but don't think I'm under more stress than usual, in fact less than usual. I already take extra B vitamins.
