1023657 tn?1251844941 One of them is exercise. Fibromyalgia pain is muscle pain and the most important therapy for muscle pain is regular, gentle and low-impact exercise. It keeps muscles conditioned and healthy and decreases the amount of discomfort. It is very important to try low-stress exercises such as walking, swimming, water aerobics, and biking rather than straining exercises such as weight training. Heavy exercises worsen the symptoms.

My back and neck are the main culprits. Also I have severe headaches or migraines somewhat often. My brother has a toddler and I can't even crawl after him because my knees hurt. My knees only really seem to hurt though when I am on them .

981885 tn?1248585122 Here are some things I found that really helped me: Cut out as much sugar, white flour and other simple carbs as you can! I would be in far more pain whenever I'd go on a "carb binge". Also, do whatever you can to get plenty of sleep--make sure you get plenty of magnesium; melatonin or 5-HTP, as well as various herbal products can help also. Cut out or learn to deal with stress more effectively--meditation, cognitive therapy, whatever...

1282225 tn?1272140188 For almost 2 years now I have not been well or myself. I have chest pain, heart flutters feeling difficult to breath, tired and weak, dizzy and sluggish brain. I have had tons of tests, seen a cardiologist he says I'm fine. I take nexium which doesn't help at all. I don't smoke drink and I eat very healthy. Cut out caffine all together, started seeing a shrink. I'm tired of going to the ER and getting sent home. I've had it!
Avatar f tn Stress can be physical, chemical, and emotional. In addition, fibromyalgia sufferers have very low pain tolerance and it means that they can feel the pain very easily. All I can tell you now is to look into your diet and begin to eliminate fast foods and toxic chemicals from your sytem. Also, you need to quit smoking if you want to have an effective treatment for your Fibromyalgia.
1170411 tn?1263408458 Congratulations on being in remission. The odd thing is and I have fibromyalgia you described all my my symptoms. And the symptoms in my back, legs are nothing new to me. I've lived with this for many years. But the shoulder pain and you described it exactly is something I have been experiencing for about 2.5 weeks. I'm not sure if you have fibromyalgia but it can be brought on by a trauma either physical or emotional.
Avatar f tn Absolutely yes! Fibromyalgia can be caused by physical trauma and/or emotional trauma... Avatar f tn Fibromyalgia can be caused by trauma, stress, an illness, PTSD, or fever. And yes, it can run in families. Fibromyalgia should be suspected by the pcp when the pt has widespread pain for more than 3 months. There are trigger/tender points in the same places on both sides of the body. Wrists, ankles, neck, shoulders, elbows, buttocks, knees are the most common. Also migraine headaches and stomach issues such as IBS. Muscle spasms are also common.

4437575 tn?1354575286 Does anyone know if that has to do with my fibromyalgia? Or does anyone else have it? It started yesterday and it causes so much pain. It started in my knee and went down to my ankle and up to my hip and lower back. (right side) It was burning and stabbing and shooting pains. Now today it started doing it in my elbow (right side) to my fingers and to my shoulder. Burning and stabbing and shooting pains again. SideNote: I'm 19 and I've had fibro since I was 15.
