7626774 tn?1395789105 I'm 30weeks pregnant and this back pain is REAL ! I told my doctor and he says it's normal because the baby is making room... However there are times when I feel like I can't get up at all . I've tried heating pads, extra pillows and even had my boyfriend rub my back from time to time but it literally brings tears to my eyes when he touches my back sometimes . So I'm wondering have any of you ladies ever experienced this and if so what did you do?!
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia in 2011, one of my worst symptoms was upper back pain, right in between my shoulder blades. Not even massages helped. In my experience, it was due to tension. I realized that my shoulders were often scrunched up. Even though it was hard to do at first because I was so tense, yoga helped immensely. Google 'yoga poses for back pain' and there's a lot of good videos that can help.
Avatar n tn At times it is to where i can handle the pain but at other times the pain so bad that i just want to die. I do have fibromyalgia, arhrist, and spinal spond., in which I was told it was a number 1 and the pain should not be that bad. But I am the one that is hurting not the doctor. Please tell me what to do for the pain. This discussion is related to Mid back pain on right side.
Avatar f tn They have received special training in various ways to lessen your pain and get you back on your feet. My second suggestion is to get a Pain Psychologist. Ask your Pain Management Physician (PMP) for a referral or recommendation. She should know of several therapists who will be able to help your depression. Chronic pain and depression go hand in hand. It seems we can't get away from it. But we can get both conditions treated. So PLEASE get out of the house and go to a PMP.
Avatar n tn Is this pain in your lower back and do you have any sciatic pain? You may want to search piriformis syndrome and see if any of that sounds familiar. You say you are a runner--do you stretch properly before and after? Has anyone searched or can you feel any sore spots (lumpy) when pressed? I am referring to trigger points. These are not the same as tender points that are related to fibromyalgia. These trigger points can be extremely painful and can form in almost any muscle.
1560356 tn?1294835100 Fibromyalgia, because the illness causes a whole array of symptoms and no one person with Fibromyalgia has the exact same symptoms as another person has, but all of us do suffer pain and fatigue. Someone else will have to comment on the Suboxone, though, as I personally am not familiar with that one.
1033336 tn?1252506131 The characteristic feature of Fibromyalgia is a muscle pain mostly in neck, back, thighs, and hips. There is presence of specific tender points in these areas that trigger the pain. Along with this there is morning stiffness in the muscles, brain fog, dizziness and other neurological symptoms. Since you are suffering from pain specifically located at the joints, and it started after the flu, the pains are related to the viral infection.
Avatar f tn I like you had all the tests, MRIs never showed the excruiating shoulder blade pain I was living with or the bone crushing lower back pain, i have the gamut of symptoms sciatic pain, the joint stiffness, the lack of sleep, skin sensitivity, headaches, leg weakness. Let my story be a tale of caution to you as you navigate finding out what is causing your pain.
Avatar n tn I frst experienced Upper back pain from may 08 - mid septemberr 08. I am not 100 % why I had the pain. I saw every doctor imagineable (orthopedist, rheumatologist, acupuncturist, physiatrist, myofascial trigger point therapist, massage therapists) Not much helped but it went away towards the end of september) My only symptoms were upper back pain. The muscles were very tight and knotted.I was not fatigued and sleeping was not an issue.
Avatar f tn I have been on Lyrica for my fibromyalgia and after a year or so it caused my legs to swell. I stopped takng it the swelling never went away and my nerve pain is back with a vengence. Is there any other pain treatments for nerve pain n Lyrica and gabother theapenton?
Avatar m tn Gabapentin from the neuro did not help the pain, neuro sent us to rheum. who then diagnosed her with fibro. She has severe spinal and back pain (is walking fine now) and has severe fatigue. Her treatment was physical therapy. We go to aqua p/t once a week and have tried actupuncture. In our case it has shown no relief. We have an appt. with a new rheum next week at a large childrens hospital hoping for some further insite or direction.
Avatar f tn neck, shoulders, upper back, lower back, hips, chest, breast bone (especially to the sides of it), left arm, abdomen Muscles are tender when I touch them, especially arms and thighs Hypoglycemia Weight Gain I've had heart tests, stomach tests, blood tests. Nothing shows up. I'm getting very frustrated and discouraged! Does this sound like it could be fibromyalgia?
Avatar n tn I have been fighting back pain for years, but it has gotten much worse in the past year. I have had MRI's done on the lumbar and thoracic sections of my spine. MRI shows slightly buldging disc at L4-L5 and X-ray says L5 is a transitional vertebral body, whatever that means. MRI of thoracic shows Shmorl's nodes throughout the thoracic region and a X-ray I just had for another reason said there is mild anterior compression of T10 through T12 and that they are old.
Avatar f tn I went to the doctors in February with horrible muscle pain in my legs and arms. He did a b-12 which i was low a few months back. Came in with arm pain and not feeling good. He also checked my thyroid and D levels. My thyroid was off a few months ago also but is fine now. But the D test came back low. In the mean time I couldn't take it and went to the rhemy whom I just saw in Janurary.
Avatar f tn Hi, uk 2, thank you very much for writing me back. I will try to find a pain management doctor. I have not tried the fentanal patches, the only patches that they gave me were called lidocaine patches, but they do not help me at all. Is the morning the worst time for all of you.? I can barely move and in so much burning pain in the morning.
Avatar f tn Find a doctor that will work with you to ease the pain. Find one that believes fibromyalgia is real. It is easier in this day and age to do so. A few short years ago, not so much. My doctor (a few years back) looked at me like I had a mental condition when I told him my skin hurts. Finding a shower head that didn't feel like piercing needles was a task, but finally figured that out. It is hard to explain pain.
Avatar f tn t really sound much like fibromyalgia pain - that pain is typically widespread and not just in one area (although certain areas can feel worse at times than other areas). It also usually affects both sides of the body pretty equally. It sounds more like maybe a shoulder injury (have you fallen or stretched your shoulder at all? heavy lifting?) I could also be a pleuritic type pain (inflammation of the area around the lungs).
Avatar f tn t know if it is from anxiety or fibromyalgia or both. Started in the back of my neck and after hurting my back and surgery it is now all over?
Avatar m tn You can have a polysomnogram or sleep test done to detect Obstructive Sleep Apnea, as this is independent of the problems you now have. But the chronic pain from fibromyalgia and herniated discs can also cause insomnia or sleeplessness. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
517902 tn?1314715429 Anyone else have chronic back pain and have had XRays & MRI's oly to hear the Dr. say there's nothing wrong other than normal wear-and-tear? @#$?! So, they give me meds that don't help and I'm stuck suffering with it. Been this way since age 17 and I am now 35. My grandmother had Degenerative back disease at an early age.
Avatar f tn It started out feeling like my bones were aching then i started to have pain in my left leg , shoulders, neck and back. And paresthesia in my left arm. I went to the emergency room and the doctor and was told it was sciatica and tense muscles probsbly from stress.. after about 3 weeks of this the leg pain and paresthesia went away but i was still having neck and back pain, headaches, muscle twitches . Now i just started having those same symptoms in my rifht side.

Avatar m tn Gatell (also in Atlanta). He is a quack. Now I am just back with my GP who manages the pain meds and anxiety. There just seems no where to go from here. I am so tired of doctors and treatments and different things to try. I am mentally and physically spent. I am now on adderall to help me wake and stay awake so I can perform tasks during the day but I always am in pain!
