Fibromyalgia leg nerve pain

Common Questions and Answers about Fibromyalgia leg nerve pain

fibromyalgia

Avatar f tn Fibromyalgia is widespread pain throuout the entire body,it actually hurts to be touched.Maybe a possible pinched nerve or sciatica?
Avatar f tn The type of pain you describe sounds like sciatica. Sciatica refers pain caused by an inflamed or impinged sciatic nerve. The nerve originates in the spine and travels down the back of our legs. Anything that irritates this nerve can cause pain. It may be from a spinal structural problem but there are also several other conditions that can cause this pain. I suggest that you request an MRI. That at least would be a place to begin. I have SIJ (sacroiliac joint) Dysfunction.
Avatar f tn Not sure if it would work for fibromyalgia. I have nerve pain from RSD after many hand surgeries. (I also have fibromyalgia.) I did stellate ganglion blocks for the nerve pain and have had varying relief with them. Maybe it's something you could ask about. Best of luck.
Avatar f tn It can be from sciatic nerve problem that shoots down the leg! Not every pain that a person has is related to Hep B or C.
Avatar n tn m also on Lyrica along with methadone and oxycodone for chronic low back/leg pain. The Lyrica is for my leg pain, which is caused by "nerve pain" as my doctor tells me. I think it may also have some antidepressant qualities, or something like that. I should know, since I have been taking it since the drug went on the market! I'm going to do a little research and find out what I can about Lyrica, just "for the fun of it"!.
Avatar f tn s, an EMG which showed a pinched nerve, a myelogram with a cat scan which showed a perfect spine and no pinched nerve. The pain is unbearable, I have headaches all the time, weakness in my left arm and shoulder, tingling and lightening bolt pains and spasms that shoot down my back and down my legs.
Avatar f tn Could be a pinched nerve or fibromyalgia. Might want to see a neurologist.
Avatar f tn but with my chiropractor and the right adjustment and heat treatments alternating with cold and certain stretching, ever so easy, it goes away. I am talking down the leg pain from the buttocks, that feels better once I finally stand and anything inbetween is virtually impossible to accomplish. Fibromyalgia is an all over pain condition. A "touch of" this illness would be a mild case, all over your body.
Avatar f tn Hello! My left leg is hurting from the knee to the hip. The bend of the leg or pelvic area hurts to walk. I have fibromyalgia. This pain just started about a week ago. I can't sleep on either side. I have to sleep on my back. If I sleep on my back to long it starts to hurt. I was told I have three fibroid tumors. Can they be the pain I am having or can it be something else. The pain is severe!!!!!!! What can I do?
560675 tn?1216014803 Hi, Numbness in your leg and toe indicates a nerve compression. It is quite possible that you suffered from a nerve injury or nerve compression due to fall. I would suggest you to schedule an appointment with a neurologist and undergo a CT scan to find out the exact location of nerve compression. Meanwhile please take rest and OTC pain killers and B12 supplements. Take care!
Avatar f tn However please remember that symptoms of MS are mimicked by many other conditions like peripheral neuropathy, B12 deficiency, stroke, nerve compression and fibromyalgia. There is a possibility in your case that your symptoms are due to nerve compression in the thigh and peripheral neuropathy. I would suggest you to relax and undergo a complete evaluation and tests like MRI and CT scan and also lumbar puncture. On the basis of these tests and examination a diagnosis can be made.
543791 tn?1216381777 Burning pain is a type of nerve pain. I experience burning pain on occasion along with tingling, shooting, stabbing pains and skin sensitivity. Fibromyalgia pain has no limits. However, I recently began a quest to get to the bottom of what is causing my Fibro. Turns out I have reactivated Epstein Barr Virus and HHV-6. These viruses can affect nerve endings and cause neuropathy. Also endocrine disorders. All of my pain started with the viral and thyroid symptoms I was getting.
Avatar f tn Arthritis will typically cause inflammation, which will show up in the bloodwork. Fibromyalgia is not inflammatory. I'm sorry you had both your knees done. I had just one and I feel your pain. After my surgery I ended up with Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy, which is due to nerve damage. I'm praying you do not have this. The best way to know if it could be fibro would be to visit a rheumatologist.
Avatar f tn I've been dealing with endo for awhile now.... I have low back soreness on and off all the time. - I say sore because it's not chronic and isn't there constantly and I usually don't take anything for it. It seems like it will pick and choose instead of being in one spot all the time... I don't know if its endo related or what.... I don't know if this helps much...? But if you have any questions feel free to PM me anytime Good Luck...
Avatar f tn Hi There! I had EXACTLY the same thing going!! I went to my Dr on Friday and he prescribed me gabapentin. It is a neurontin that works on nerves that create the pain of Fibromyalgia. I started out with a low dose and he has me continuing to add in doses until the pain is under control. Today is Monday and I feel 50% better. Also, Tramadol is recommended for pain relief with Fibro. He said opiates such as vicodin, oxy, morphine don't work well on nerve pain.
Avatar f tn You could also try Lyrica-it blocks nerve pain. I also see an Osteopath, go for IMS treatments and Massage-all have been very successful i take vitamin suppliments and also Cipralex and Cymbalta- although they are anti-depressants they work in people with fibromyalgia to help stop pain and I also find the Cipralex helps with migraine control. Keep me posted.
Avatar f tn Maybe you have a pinched nerve, but ,clinically,it looklike soft tissue injury in lower back area (L4/L5),which means inflammation tissue lead to right leg pain and right foot pain ,and this tissue also can stimulate nerves, then affect sensations of calf and back stiff ,etc So physical examination of lower back is more important than MRI,It's hard to know inversion therapy works for you or not. Good luck!
Avatar n tn It may on the other hand be an early warning sign for some other hidden disease only testing can uncover - narrowing of the arteries, sciatic nerve damage, FMS/MPS [Fibromyalgia and Myofacia Pain Syndrome], etc. Go see your doctor b4 it really gets bad.
Avatar f tn Today, I saw a neurologist who did an EMG, a nerve test on my leg and tested my reflexes. He says I have no neurological problems but that he is booking me for an MRI. For the past month, I have been on Gabapentin which helps me limp around better & I'm able to sleep without so many pain disturbances. Thing is, the neurologist didn't want to hear my symptoms but only wanted answers to his questions...which I feel were quite limited. I will be asking my GP for another referral.
Avatar f tn i am a 38 year old female. I get a warm feeling running down my right leg going down to my foot, sometimes it starts on my foot and just stays there for a few seconds. I am worried it may be a blood clot what do you recomend?
Avatar n tn I need an answer for severe night time inner thigh cramps. sometimes traveling up and down the leg to the groin area. and down to the foot. usually in the thigh. i have tried using a product called "leg cramps" and it is quinine but it really hasn't helped. it is the worse pain i have ever had .. I have read that others have the same pain and wonder if anyone has found an answer for it.
Avatar n tn last doc said its either fibromyalgia or restless leg syndrome but I believe she was giving up.
