Common Questions and Answers about Fibromyalgia leg length

fibromyalgia

Avatar n tn I have had a problem for years with swelling feet, ankles, & hands & wrists. I asked the doc that I was seeing at the time & she just shrugged. The doc's figured I have been suffering for the past 24 years with FM but was always misdiagnosed until Jan. of this year. I find if I stand for any length of time, sit for any length or walk to much I seem to swell. I am in a very hot & humid part of Canada. I think it is part of the FM as there is no other explaination by the docs.
Avatar m tn My doctor sent me to a physical therapist for hip pain. PT diagnosed Piriformis Syndrome. Hip massage brought pain relief. The PT suggested that problem and back pain might be caused by leg length discrepancy. He says my left leg is about 3/8" shorter. Hip pain is left hip, back muscle tightness is on right side, my left shoe wears much more on the left heel. Are these findings consistent? Does the short leg cause more heel wear on shoes? I am trying a heel left on the left foot.
Avatar f tn Fibromyalgia is widespread pain throuout the entire body,it actually hurts to be touched.Maybe a possible pinched nerve or sciatica?
Avatar f tn Have they ruled out fibromyalgia ? My mother has that and complains of the same symptoms. There is medication you can try to see if it improves your symptoms. I hope you get to feeling better soon!
Avatar m tn Finally, after years of making limited progress a chiropractor decided to test me for a leg length discrepancy. He said the absolute best way is a standing X-ray without shoes. Sure enough I was off by 10mm. Now, other therapists measured me for a leg length discrepancy, but could not identify one. As soon as I was corrected for the leg length issue the pain dissipated. Within a week I was exercising at full force. However, this wasn't the end of my ordeal. My pain returned.

Avatar n tn Is it called Hylands "Restful Legs" or Hylands "Leg Cramps"?? Because when I asked at the drive-thru of the pharmacy if they had any, they came back with the label saying "Leg Cramps"..
Avatar n tn I have had fibromyalgia for 10 years. This past August of 06 I filed for short term disabilty, then when to long term disabilty. For the last year and a half I have been having a lot of issues with the fibromyalgia. Back in August of 07 I started stumping, loosing my balance and falling. Back in October I fell and broke my right leg. My question is loosing your balace, falling, etc. part of the fibromyalgia.
Avatar f tn I have fibromyalgia and I have trouble sleeping, my doctor gave me Trazodone. I haven't tried it yet though. I was wondering has anybody else ever tried this medicine for sleep and does it work??
Avatar f tn What does fibromyalgia feel like? I am having weird pains in my skin and bones and I'm trying to find out if that is what's happening to me. It is random grapefruit sized sections of skin that ache so bad and are very sensitive to touch and temperature. Sometimes it is a shooting pain through my bone combined with the skin sensitivity, but usually it is just a constant dull ache. Sometimes it is in my hand, like it is right now. Sometimes it is in my leg or my ribs or anywhere.
Avatar m tn I am a 36 year old female that was diagnosed by my rheumatologist a year ago with Fibromyalgia. I have been noticing my symptoms were getting worse with increase leg pain, numbness and weakness, arm numbness and vertigo as well as insomnia. I do have a family history of MS and ALS with my biological father. I recently had a MRI without contrast which states: No definite acute incarct or acute intracranial hemorrhage.
Avatar f tn I suffer deep muscle pain in my left leg. First the pain began behind the knee and calf muscle now it's my thigh. It was so bad last night I screamed from the pain and my daughter wanted to call 911. It lasted a longer time it was like a huge charley horse in my thigh. And after walking about it finally stopped but was still sore. Today it isn't like that intense pain but still hurts. I am a type II diabetic who works at exercising and my daughter thinks that maybe I over did it.
Avatar n tn Hi I am 45 years old and I am having leg pain and also lower back pain that radiates down into my groin and hips. I have had and CT scan that the doctor said was normal. Can you please tell me what may be going on. The tops of my legs hurt more that the bottom.
Avatar f tn right leg tkr Feb 2010; now have 2 cm leg length discrepancy. right leg is now longer as there was a straightening of the bowing in the right leg. Gait is terrible, recovery is slow. M.D. suggests shoe lifts and tkr for left leg to fix problem. Is 2 cm discrepancy acceptable standard medical practice? And, what assurance is there that left leg tkr will "match" right leg length?
Avatar f tn I'm new here and I haven't had a fibromyalgia diagnosis, but I have had muscle twitching all over (mostly in my legs) and that has died down quite a bit, but I've have tired muscles and I have been so tired. I get tender spots that hurt for no reason to the touch. This past Saturday I went dancing and almost didn't make it through the first song, my legs started to hurt so bad. I woke up the next morning and it felt like someone had beat my legs with a baseball bat.
Avatar f tn I would check to see if you have leg length discrepancy. I don't have hip replacement, but I have only 1/2 inch leg discrepancy and get nerve pain from that. I put a 1/2 inch lift in my shoe and it cured my nerve pain.
Avatar f tn My doctors has referred me to a rheumotolgist and suspects this could be my diagnosis. One thing that boggles his mind is that my leg pain is not present on a good day until I am lying down for more than 30 minutes then horrible aching begins. My sed rate is also high but RA and Lupus test came back negative. Doew this sound like arthritus or fibromyalgia?
Avatar f tn Hi, I'm new on here, I came across the forum when I googled 'freezing cold leg'.
Avatar f tn Should I worry a feeling I'm getting on my leg feels a bug, hair going across my leg
Avatar f tn Thanks for wanting to help, but I don't have my x-rays, and even if I picked them up (and I'm not sure I can do that), they wouldn't be in e-form. I have a feeling this is a case of apparent length. I don't know the official meaning of that, but I suspect that my leg bones haven't grown or shortened. Instead, I suspect there's been some remodeling of the hip joint, which led to apparent lengthening.
Avatar f tn I would have to hold one leg while he checked them and he would get clear out of the way. But then it started happening when I was at gymnastics and when the girls would jump over something my leg would kick, I take Klonopin(clonazepam), if I forget or just get tired of taking so much medication the kicking will start back up, 2 nights ago I was watching a moving and a guy was being chased and running and jumping and my leg just kept jerking so hard.
2015036 tn?1332997788 I posted a question here a few days ago, and I haven't gotten any responses. Please, even if you aren't sure, I need opinions... I already have multiple sclerosis, but I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia too- so I don't know what to attribute these symptoms to. I have been experiencing these things: *Waking up severely choking on saliva- not able to breath for a painful length of time. *Difficulty chewing when eating- like my jaws are are losing strength.
