I get muscle knots in the back of my leg along with knee pain had it for about 2 months. When I walk my knee feels like it is frozen and when I try to bend it it hurts also the muscle knot at the back of my knee feels like the back of my leg is being stretched. This revealed disc herniations that were pulling on the muscles going around my ribcage and is actually causing knots to form. There's usually an underlying reason that triggers Fibromyalgia from the extended pain or stress. Also be sure to get a mamogram to rule out anything from the breasts. They will probably tell you that they are harmless fatty deposits if nothing else is discovered. Best of luck and keep me posted!
Every thing came out okay but I still have the lumps.my family doctor thinks fibromyalgia is all in my head and its not a real disease. How ever the rumatodaligist thought the other way.Since I had know swelling of my joints they ruled out arthrities. Even though I dont think I have fibromyalgia it could be that I do.I just have a feeling that there is more going on with me.Some days I'm so scared because my body hurts so bad and I cant do any thing for it.
He says it starts out with a million tiny knots, as he massages it will turn into larger knots, and then it becomes long rounded hard muscle knot. He refers to it as feelinging like a big worm under my skin-they are near impossible to break up. He once massaged me for 2 and a half hours and the next day the knots were back to the original state. it is extremely painful, and very frustrating. I'm not on any meds for fibro (bad reaction to lyrica). Don't even know if this is fibro.
I have suffered for many years with leg pain, knots in my leg muscles and sore feet. When I sit for a time the backs of my legs become sore and make it very uncomfortable to stay sitting. I might add that I have driven trucks most of my life. I have been told this is called blood pooling. When I am active, walking or just moving about my leg muscles get sore. it seems like I have tried about all of the remidies that have been tossed about. Tried Calcium, magnesium, massage, B- vitimans.

Also on another subject....

I'm 31 and after 6 long years of chronic problems unexplained I have finally been diagnoised with Fibromyalgia and Lymphdema. Sorry about spelling. Anyway I was wondering if anyone out there has had either one and if so what kind of treatment may have work for you. They say both conditions are chronic and there is no known cure for either.
There are a number of ways that Fibromyalgia can be diagnosed. it is a diagnosis of exclusion. Meaning, it is not uncommon for it to be diagnosed once everything else has been 'ruled out'. The areas of your pain are most likely trigger points, and if you push & poke around them, you might find a 'knot' in there that is painful. Some of my trigger points are not in the classic areas, but have a knot & are painful.
I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia 3 years ago I also have degenerative disk disease. I am 36 yrs. old. I have seen my family Doc, Neurologist, rheumatologist, and pretty much was told that they couldn't help me. I have tried neurotin, Savella & Lyrica. None of these has helped at all, the lyrica I had bad reaction to. the same with neurotin. Also tried cymbalta and was allergic to it. I am on Effexor ER & Xanax and Muscle Relaxers.
The massage therapist was unable to get some of the knots out of my shoulders. The next day I woke up with an excruciating headache. I have had many headaches and migraines in my life, but this one was by far one of the worst. After several doctors visits and a couple of emergency rooms, I found out it was the flu through a nose swab. it was hard to diagnose because the only symptoms I had were a severe headache and muscles aches, no fever or sore throat.

I feel fatigued...and have worried myself sick over these knots. I have had mono in the last few years... my current concern is that the nerves right in the middle of the eyebrow have started to become inflamed...possibly due to compression? my doctor attributes everything to stress. He says to stay off the computer and stop looking for illnesses. Any advice? No other symptoms...no fever, rash, night sweats, or other problems. Thanks...
I have suffered with chronic muscle pain, muscle knots and horrible fatigue on and off for 5 years. I have acid reflux, PCOS, hypothyroidism, insulin resistance, high cholesterol, chronic diarrhea/constipation....if it isn't one it is the other. I have trouble sleeping and many nights may only get 3-4 hrs of sleep, even with muscle relaxers. my primary physician believes I have fibromyalgia, he sent my to a rheumatologist. The rheumy did not even take a health history!

I have finally gone to a pain management clinic and was diagnosed with fibromyalgia. I don't know if I really have it or not.. but here is what is going on. Basically, 2 years ago I went to the doctor for a pain in my lower left side, it felt like a knot in my lower left side when I would bend over. it somehow felt tied into my middle back.. Well the pain in my mid back got worse over time, I developed pain under my left ribs, then my right ribs month later..
I had a quick look on the internet it appears that knots in Fibro. are referred to muscular knots. are the knots only on muscles? you should have them checked by a specialist like Endocrinologist or Immunologist if you think your Doc. wasn't too confident about what they really are. Ask someone in your family to test you for the Romberg's test. it is a simple neurological test, it is often associated with vision symptoms and neuropathy.
Hi guys, So, officially I've had fibromyalgia for a year and a bit. I've been taking my meds, eating healthy, doing exercises, going to physio weekly... And I'm not feeling any better, only the same. But my question is: can fibromyalgia spread through the body??? Because I've started experiencing pains in my hands and arms over the past month or so... any ideas???

To say all of this to lead up to my question....sorry. I have knots that come up in my head is this from fibromyaligia? I also have a series of knots that will appear on my right side. I guess I just want someone to tell my they have these crazy symptoms too.
I believe that there is a connection between white blood cells decreasing in Fibromyalgia cases and Fibromyalgia being an immune system disease, but do I have my husband try Penicillin for six months? Or do I have him try Super C and P Max that supposely reduces Candida Albicans first and then try Penicillin?
Two months ago I needed a second surgery due to an unusual fold in my neck and some blisters and hard knots under the skin of my neck. Since that surgery I have been getting steroid injections into the hard knots/scars. I now have a depressed pocket, the size of a penny and several rock hard knots under the neck skin. I also have two medium-sized bulges at the bottom of my neck that seem to be filled with fluid.
I'm 36 and my Fibro has gone out of control in the last few months. it had been doing so much better (as well as Fibromyalgia goes). The migraines that I get with my Fibromyalgia are so far out of control and no medicine is seeming to work. I'm now experiencing dizzy spells several times a day, the pain from the migraine is focused soley in my eyes (they are painful to move), and the numbness and tingling runs down the right side of my face, my lips on the right side, and my ear buzzes.
