He says it starts out with a million tiny knots, as he massages it will turn into larger knots, and then it becomes long rounded hard muscle knot. He refers to it as feelinging like a big worm under my skin-they are near impossible to break up. He once massaged me for 2 and a half hours and the next day the knots were back to the original state. It is extremely painful, and very frustrating. I'm not on any meds for fibro (bad reaction to lyrica). Don't even know if this is fibro.
From chest pain and rib pain to dizziness and tremors. At the begining of the year I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia. And a few months ago hyperthyroidism. Some symptoms resolved and new ones show up. Now I have this pain in my armpit and it feels like it's swollen. I do not feel any swollen lymph nodes. I get pain into my ribs and a soreness that wraps around to my ribs in my back. I'm so sick of going to the dr.
Two months ago I needed a second surgery due to an unusual fold in my neck and some blisters and hard knots under the skin of my neck. Since that surgery I have been getting steroid injections into the hard knots/scars. I now have a depressed pocket, the size of a penny and several rock hard knots under the neck skin. I also have two medium-sized bulges at the bottom of my neck that seem to be filled with fluid.
I get muscle knots in the back of my leg along with knee pain had it for about 2 months.When I walk my knee feels like it is frozen and when I try to bend it it hurts also the muscle knot at the back of my knee feels like the back of my leg is being stretched. Was working out alot at the gym. I dread getting up in the morning because I know I am going to be stiff and sore can hardly walk first thing in the morning.
i have fibromyalgia and cfs but i have lumps on my ribs at the top and fingers, toes, wrists knees ankles,elbows hands feet and even a one in between my eyebrows i asked the doctor some time ago about the one in between my eyebrows and he said that was bone and its impossible to have a lump there these lumps are so painful sometimes i cant touch them i have to gently rub around the area as its too painful to touch .
I have suffered for many years with leg pain, knots in my leg muscles and sore feet. When I sit for a time the backs of my legs become sore and make it very uncomfortable to stay sitting. I might add that I have driven trucks most of my life. I have been told this is called blood pooling. When I am active, walking or just moving about my leg muscles get sore.
It seems like I have tried about all of the remidies that have been tossed about. Tried Calcium, magnesium, massage, B- vitimans.
I have had Fibromyalgia for about 3 years now. When I sit for to long , my legs want to shake and I get very restless .
When I go to stand up, my legs don't want to straighten out and it's hard to stand up. Can anyone tell me why this happens? And then the back pain goes clear up to my neck? If you can help answer this I would appreciate it.
Do trigger points make you feel like you have a deep itch and pressing one of them feels like you're scratching the itch but the itch comes right back right when you let off?
I don't think I understand Fibromyalgia...I first was dx'd with Myofascial Pain syndrome about 3 or 4 yrs. ago and now I just got this diagnosis. I do have osteophytes (MRI states severe stenosis, and mild here and there in my spine) plus a broad bulge with a 7mm annular tear.
You need to be investigated for multiple sclerosis and fibromyalgia too since such random neurological symptoms could be due to demyelination etc. Apart from clinical neurological examination MRI shows MS as paler areas of demyelination , two different episodes of demyelination separated by one month in at least two different brain location. Spinal tap is done and CSF electrophoresis reveals oligoclonal bands suggestive of immune activity, which is suggestive but not diagnostic of MS.
They could be myofascial trigger points that are knots in the muscles.
Do you have varicose veins, this can also cause the pain you describe. Also I have heard that some people with fibromyalgia has these symptoms too.you need to have then checked out by your doctor as it could be blood clots too. I know my Mom in law had those on her legs and she had one that had come loose.
Speaking of hand pain: I also have psoriatic arthritis, [a rare skin lesion only], recently developed dypuytren's contracture, bilaterally. Usually middle fingers, occasionally ring fingers affected, both painfully contract several times a day. I've noticed very painful to the touch 'knots' on palmar surfaces as well. The literature on this condition reports that painful hands are not usually demonstrated. Based on my experience, I would refute that.
30pm. Toes burn and fingers numb on both sides. About 9:30pm chills and tingly running up and down both legs mainly knees and below, some on thighs. Upper back near spine has been numb and tingly all evening and chest feels same. Felt tightness in neck and back of head near neck.

A lot of burning throughout my body like a sunburn. In the evening my feet felt like they were on fire.
Also I have the knots in my shoulder blades and pain in them. I know this is common with fibromyalgia also.

I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia 18 years ago and in past three years the have found that I have highgrade osteoarthritis in both knees and degenerative disk desease and I'm only 47. I've been to two rhruematologist in past 8 months and a orthopedic doctor six months ago and nueroligist last month. I've had weakness in arms and legs coming in four about four years and my right arm is the worst.
I have been diagnosed as having fibromyalgia, and have suffered from severe pain in my muscles for around nine years. In the past I have had positive ANA counts, but recently had a negative ANA. I have had six bouts of uveitis, with several being severe. After I had the most recent bout of Uveitis, I again had extensive blood work done. The only findings were elevated C-Reactive proteins and elevated Sed Rate.
I am back and forth to the ER and family practice only to hear I have anxiety and acid reflux. I often get knots in my right chest and then heavy feelings of pressure and tightness. I have a hard time swallowing at times as well. Recently the pains have been traveling to my left foot area and on last week I woke up, my left middle finger was swollen ( I will say that finger was broken 3years back in the exact spot of the swelling but I've not had one problem with it since then).
