1961313 tn?1326293964 I have problems with my knees, just general stiffness-but one day I had to get down on my right knee and the pain was extreme,it wasn't necessarily in the knee but to the right side of the knee,it felt like the skin was splitting into,I look and the skin looked fine,so I don't know if it's the tendon or the muscle what ever it is,is very painful,in fact I can't get down on my knees any longer
Avatar f tn My knee pain is a sharp burning/stinging sensation when kneeling on the left knee. It is at the base of the patella and radiates to the left side of the knee, almost numbing the area. My surgeon diagnosed it as patellar tendinitis. Normally, the tendinitis flares up at the tibial (shin) connection, however it can occur at the patellar (kneecap) connection which is my case. The normal treatment of a patellar brace ( a strap) is not as effective.
550746 tn?1250130369 If you do not have symptoms other than back pain , it may not be Fibromyalgia . There could be other causes of back pain and headaches that include nerve impingement in the back or stiffness of the neck muscles . Please go for an MRI of spine with contrast , EMG and consult a neurologist for the diagnosis and treatment . Hope this helps you . Take care and regards ! .
Avatar m tn Hi loops5, I'm sorry to hear you are now one of us. I was an RN when I had a car accident which started my FMS and that was 30 years ago. They called it fibrositis back then. I now also have CFS and CMP. So, in my long experience with this, I wanted to throw out a few things you may not have heard. There is sometimes a co-existing condition with FMS called Chronic Myofascia Pain (CMP). Fascia is a sort of connecting tissue that holds everything in your body in place.
Avatar f tn Hi My doctor tells me I have fibromyalgia. I have so many of the symptoms eg pain in back, hips, thighs kness, neck.shoulders so on, burning, aching. numbness, itching, muscles weakness. poor sleep pattern. Symptoms are worse with stress, monthly cycle and activity. I also have eye pain and intraocular pressure of 26 in my left eye, and foot pain. I could continue. There is one thing which greatly puzzles me and this is that I have painful lumps in my fatty tissue.
Avatar n tn I did no testing because I could still function in normal life but I had to stop jogging because of severe pain on my inner ankles (post-tibial tendonitis). My right nevicular bone fractured and it feels better(not treated for the fx). My left one is still very painful but not all the time. I now have more S/S of fibro: some fatigue, most every tener spot, IBS (dx as Chronn's in 2000), dry eyes, weird skin sensations and numbness and tingling in the bottom of my feet.
1442701 tn?1286387587 I was put on it for Fibromyalgia and developed a badly swollen liver from it. I was in terrible pain for many weeks until the liver went back to normal size. It is a very powerful drug. If you are getting any of the side effects, go off it immediately.
808425 tn?1371095928 On top of that, I've had stomach problems since I was a kid, so NSAIDS are not good for long term treatment. Any ideas? I went to a rheumatologist for my wrist pain (I forgot to mention that one, but it still doesn't interfere as much as the knee pain), who suspected lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, OR fibromyalgia. He gave me Pamelor, which didn't help, then Cymbalta, which also didn't help.
Avatar f tn I know its not much comfort but your not alone and to me (of course I would never wish this on my worst enemy ) it helps to know I'm not insane and that I don't imagine all this pain. Fibromyalgia is very real. Never let ANYONE tell you that your pain does not exist. If your in pain don't panic over it trust yourself. Stress makes it worse ok. All I want is my old life back. Make sure you get a good doctor that understands.
Avatar f tn Were you ever on antidepressants or any medication that would effect dopamine, serotonin or norepinephrine levels, prior to being dx'd with Fibromyalgia? If so, what was your age and approximately how long did you stay on the medication. Thank you for your response to this poll. Have a nice day.
Avatar n tn It appears I am not the only one experiencing pain in the knee. I had surgery on my right knee on March 19th (Athroscopic surgery). In addition, the OS found my knee bone extremely deteriorating from arthritis and had to cut down the bone. I was told I would be up and about in in 48-72 hours. I was suffering so bad from pain, I was unable to return to work for 2 weeks and when I did, i still wasn't doing very good.
Avatar f tn I get muscle knots in the back of my leg along with knee pain had it for about 2 months. When I walk my knee feels like it is frozen and when I try to bend it it hurts also the muscle knot at the back of my knee feels like the back of my leg is being stretched. Was working out alot at the gym. I dread getting up in the morning because I know I am going to be stiff and sore can hardly walk first thing in the morning.
Avatar n tn severe stomach aches, numbing of my finger tips usually on my right hand, but has occured in both, forgetfullness-short term memory loss (forget where i put my keys, or phone or a peice of paper), wierd speech almost like it is slurred, i try to talk and the words come out of my mouth like i just ate a mouthful of ice, like you would speak when your tongue is numb (wierd), lumps under my right armpit (have disappeared but stayed for a week), now i have a sorethroat, severe shoulder neck pain o
Avatar f tn The pain can be due to reactive arthritis. One thing you should notice is that when the elbow pain comes—does the knee pain decrease? If yes, then this is migratory polyarthritis and this can be due to Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, rheumatic fever, SLE, Lyme’s disease, sarcoidosis, Whipple’s disease, Henoch-Schnlein Purpura, and bacterial endocarditis. Hashimotos thyroidits is another possibility. It can also be fibromyalgia and or chronic fatigue syndrome.
Avatar f tn After having a mri my dr said he couldnt see anything but the pain kept getting worse and decided to scope my knee. He discovered that I had no cartlige and it was completely eaten up with arthritis among other things. I was told I needed a knee replacement but didnt want to do it at my age. I was wondering if there was anyone who has had one at an early age because I would like my quality of life now due to the fact that I have 3 kids who need me now more than at age 60.
5792451 tn?1390938290 The solution to my knee pain (which has changed from pain to stiffness) was 14 months of antibiotics plus herbal supplements from my LLMD. I doubt I'll ever be as active as I was before the onset of Lymes, but I'm grateful the worst seems to be over. Now if only I could kick-start my energy levels, I'd be in great shape.
358304 tn?1409713092 I didnt noticed the back pain before, because the bladder pain was over-powering the back pain. He then said, "sounds like you have a pinched nerve in your lower back causing false signals to your bladder." He said to just stretch, get massages etc. THIS FINALLY GOT BETTER. However, I still had some minor erection pain. Then my lower back would cycle, it would come back, and one time even made my legs WEAK and JELLO LIKE when walking down stairs.
Avatar f tn It seems there isn't an area of my body not tormented with pain. Everyday head neck shoulders upper back lower back/ kidney area, bladder. Bad days add hips knees fingertips to elbows, toes to calves. Not a whole lot left out. Add agoraphobia ( genetic) induced from 4 yrs trapped inside in a dark room. Not one of my illnesses is life threatening, well I suppose I could have an aneurysm.. But let's get real. Any 1 of these things ALONE I could cope easy.
Avatar n tn and last speed i was going that i knew of was 122 Mph (yeah i was stupid) but was fun at first untill i kept tring to get the car to 125 which i had got it to a few days before except i kept going for it this time in a slight left hand turn on the highway ( 471 North connecting Northern Ky to southern ohio and just past the last bellvue Ky exit) after that exit was the turn (slight left) and hit the metal seam in the road and the rear wheels went over it and right after i lost control of my ca
Avatar n tn But, I experienced extreme muscle and joint pain after the radiation treatments. I have fibromyalgia with chronic pain and I also took vitamins, etc. The radiation treatments caused my fibromyalgia to become acute. I began taking 1000 units of Fish Oil twice daily and found that after a short time, my pain factor was much, much better. You might want to check with your doctor about taking fish oil. You can buy it across the counter.
Avatar f tn You were all so kind in replying to my last post so I thought I'd come and give a little update. Jen and Maria, you mentioned fibromyalgia as a possible explanation for some of my symptoms so you might find this interesting. I saw my rheumatologist this past week. I have all sorts of ongoing symptoms so it's always hard to figure out what I want from an appointment with her or any of my other doctors.
Avatar f tn For our fibro members.... you have another treatment option ! http://www.tradingmarkets.com/.
Avatar f tn I have been going through my days with wide pain in my head, and also I have very bad hand pain. Sometimes it is only one hand, most the time it is both. They fill with this deep burning sensation and it hurts to move them and they get stiff on me and have even lock up on me;causing me to drop things or have bad grip. They sometimes tingle, burn, ache, and sometimes the pain makes me not be able to concentrate. Often going throughout my hands, wrist and shoulders and forearm.
Avatar n tn I had 3 major knee surgeries in 2007 and my internist spoke to my OS and decided to go with the antibiotic treatment just in case I might have infection in the knee. Mind you, there was no sign of infection, but they wanted to be sure before going to the next step. It was almost 3 months before my internist sent me to the Rheumy. He did my blood work again and everything came back negative. By that time I was miserable!!
Avatar f tn Hey C, I was on peg/rib for 24 weeks and 12 weeks post now. Remaining symptoms are minimally bothersome but not anything as bad as treatment. I started working out slowly at week 4 (post tx) and am up to pre treatment level now. I did develop a couple of bad but transient episodes of what must have been fibromyalgia (or something similar... intense pain with movement) at about recovery weeks 3 & 4, the intense itching and rash of treatment decreased then cleared about weeks 8 or 9...
975514 tn?1325001538 I have no one else to talk to about this except for my sister who also has fibromyalgia. She is the only one who truly knows what pain I am going through. But she has a doctor who is compassionate and sends her for all sorts of testing and doesn't mess around. But they live about three hours away and I know for a fact that I wouldn't be able to handle the drive like that. I can go one way but not both in one day. My kids would miss to much school and I would miss to much work.
16888441 tn?1452159257 Swelling and bruising is common, following surgical procedures, but will be reduced through proper care and handling within two to three days. Common knee surgery treatment or hip resurfacing procedure treatments help relieve symptoms and damage caused by rheumatoid arthritis and includes Osteotomy, where a deformed joint is surgically realigned, or a Synovectomy, where inflamed tissues that line the joint are removed.
748543 tn?1463449675 For the past few weeks I have been throwing around ideas as to the best way to respond to this matter. You see a recent article ( Feb.3 , 2009 NY times) titled "Best treatment for TMJ May be Nothing" nearly made me clench my jaw to pieces. While well written, I found that the author, Ms. Brody, relied heavily on out dated and narrow perspective supplied to her by a small group of dentists.
