Common Questions and Answers about Fibromyalgia in nc

fibromyalgia

Avatar f tn Hi....do any of your Drs suggest what caused your syrinx to form? I would strongly suggest you see a Chiari specialist to look at your syrinx as Syringomyelia (syrinx) is a related condition to Chiari and those specialists deal with them all the time.
Avatar n tn And does anyone know of tendonitis and fibromyalgia connection. I got tendonitis throughout both arms and next thing I am told I have fibromyalgia.
Avatar n tn I do not personally know of any PM doctors in NC. Your best bet would be to ask your doctor, any one of them to refer you to a pain management doctor. That is deefnatly what you need at this point. You need to be on an extended release medication for your pain as it is a chronic condition and it will control your pain much better. When you do see the PM doctor explain everything that is going on and make sure you descibe your pain and how it does affect your quality of life.
Avatar n tn However, part of me is scared, because I have seen fibro docs in the past, including one at the fibro and fatigue center in Seattle, that didn't help me much. It ended up being money down the drain, for the most part. Although, from what I have heard it seems like Dr. Lapp would be worth the investment! Good Luck to you, too!
Avatar f tn I live in NC and work at a hospital our maternity leave allows us 6 weeks paid time off however insurance doesnt start paying you until after the first week and I only receive 60% of my regular wages during my leave. You can technically take up to 12 weeks if you wish however the weeks after the first 6 will be unpaid. You can supplement your pay with paid time off hours if you have enough available.
Avatar f tn If anybody knows of a psychiatrist in NC (preferably in the Charlotte area) they could recommend, and possibly give their opinion on my experience, I'd appreciate it. I can clarify more if needed.
Avatar f tn Has anyone found a current specialist for Chiari in the state of NC, besides Dr. Rosner who no longer practices?
Avatar f tn I am a 32 year old female from Delaware who was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia 9 years ago.
Avatar n tn She fell while trying to flip and landed on her lower back in sort of a v position. This happened a few monthes ago. She seems to be getting in worse pain. She said the pain is in low back, slightly to the right of her spine. She can't stand straight...she leans to the right. Physical activity causes her severe pain. She at one time complained about neck stiffness. She even stubbed her toe and said that caused pain in her back. She hasn't had noticible bruising or swelling.
Avatar f tn the following is copied and pasted from our thread on drs we use and like...... Nov 24, 2008 09:11PM To: ALL One of the Pioneers in Chiari Malformation Research and Chiari Zero..... Dr. Michael J. Rosner Fletcher, North Carolina (He is practicing until January, but the NC medical board wants to take his license away. It seems that NC doesn't want to have a true Chiari specialist in their state...or at least some of it's very arrogant NS want him to leave.
Avatar f tn It does sound like a visit to your cardio (or a new one) would be a good idea. It is important to let your doctor's office know that you have developed new symptoms. Your family history, numbness, loss of balance and near syncope episodes warrant a call to your doctor's office. If you're concerned about waiting until Monday, stop by the nearest ER and get checked out. If for nothing but peace of mind.
Avatar f tn I'm looking for a Chiari Specialist in the Raleigh-Durham, NC area. I am a 49 year old female. I've been showing classic sign of Chiari for years. Am hoping someone out there knows of a doctor. All I've been able to find is pediatric specialist.
Avatar n tn t know where you live) a special clinic, The Hunter-Hopkins Clinic in Charlotte, NC that treats only CFS and related diseases. Expensive but well worth every penny! I am certainly no doctor, but your symptoms sound like CFS. Keep knocking down doctor doors and don't quit until someone gives you an acceptable answer. I had a doctor who just dismissed my symptoms early on as depression. So I fired him and went to another doctor.
Avatar f tn Does anyone know or have been to any doctors in NC For Chiari-i malformation. I have been living with dizziness and headaches for 20 yrs.
