Avatar f tn I am 33 and I feel so old b/c of the constant aches and pains! I have Fibromyalgia and Bulging/Herniated Discs in my Neck, and Many other Health Issues as you can see in my profile! First of all if you have Fibromyalgia there is something called the Fibro Fog, where you have a hard time concentrating and verbalizing! I personally think the most Prominent Symptom of Fibro is the Pain.
Avatar f tn Diagnosis of fibromyalgia, involves at least 3 months of widespread pain, and pain and tenderness in at least 11 of 18 areas (arms, buttocks, chest, knees, lower back, neck, rib cage, shoulders, thighs, etc). If the only symptom is headache, further evaluation may need to be done. It is best that you check with your doctor for proper evaluation. imaging studies may also be done. Take care and do keep us posted.
Avatar m tn My wife has had the above condition for several years. Sudden pain from top of neck which travels almost to back of her head. Until recently, these episodes have ended almost immediately and the pain went away. The episodes occur about twice/three times per month.... always during the morning - before noon. Very recently, the attacks have become worse whereby she has to lie down and take a pain killer (GP advice).
1184051 tn?1264435308 My symptoms are Headaches, Fatigue, widespread pain, and sleep problems. I had every test that you could think of. They all came back negative. Alot of doctors don't take fibromyalgia serious, but then on the plus side alot of them do. I have been lucky enough to find a doctor who takes fibromyalgia completely serious. I live in Kentucky, and I see a doctor in North Carolinia. With the correct treatment, you can feel better. - I hope everything works out. Good luck.
Avatar f tn after about 3 weeks of this the leg pain and paresthesia went away but i was still having neck and back pain, headaches, muscle twitches . Now i just started having those same symptoms in my rifht side. Along with the muscle twitches and back pain And headaches. Im not sure if this seems like fibromyalgia or not? I have also been having very severe anxiety and panic attacks for the past 3 months. But ive had GAD for 10 years and never had such painful symptoms before.
Avatar f tn Let us wait for the repeat MRI scan. Anxiety and constant worrying may aggravate the headaches, disrupt sleep and cause weight loss. The MRI results will determine the next step of management.

Avatar m tn She recently had an endoscopy procedure, came home (I was designated to watch her due to the drugs would cause temporary amnesia) and was suffering neck pain that she placed a pack of ice on and slept for a couple hours. I helped her when she awoke with some breathing excercises, laying on her back and stretching the neck muscles out. This lasted about 45 minutes.
Avatar f tn Over the past year My Doctor has treated me for Bursitis with cortisone injections and spinal block but to no avail. The pain is now in my entire left leg, left shoulder and arm along with headaches on the left side of my head and neck. My profession is equestrian/trainer and it has become increasingly more difficult to work with the horses. When I ride if I ride for over two hours I am in tears! Avatar f tn I feel extremely nauseaus, tired, headaches, sore burning eyes, and the worst is the pain in my body. Mostly the pain is in my lower back and neck, but my entire body hurts. My symptoms are the worst at night, and sometimes earlier depending on how much I have exerted myself. I still have an appetite, and eating does not seem to change the nausea or other symptoms.
Avatar n tn Thanks for your answer. The truth is that it might be from a pinched nerve in the neck as I spend lots of ours in front of the computer and I usually have pain in my neck. Nevertheless, I will tak your advice and I'll talk to my family doctor.
Avatar f tn I have been unable to take Lyrica due to side affects. I have fatigue, headaches, and joint pain often. I also have edema often in my feet and hands, but always thought I may just retain water. I never considered Lupus until the other day. I have had a bright red dry rash on my neck, upper chest near my collar bone and on my arms that does not go away with Hydrocortisone Cream or Benadryl. It will show up on my inner thighs at times too.
Avatar f tn neck, shoulders, upper back, lower back, hips, chest, breast bone (especially to the sides of it), left arm, abdomen Muscles are tender when I touch them, especially arms and thighs Hypoglycemia Weight Gain I've had heart tests, stomach tests, blood tests. Nothing shows up. I'm getting very frustrated and discouraged! Does this sound like it could be fibromyalgia?
Avatar f tn Throughout the years, my headaches turned into neck and shoulder pain and I was sleeping all the time...I was soon diagnoses with fibromyalgia. I've been put on anxiety meds, neurontin, pain meds and muscle relaxers. My neck pain and headaches are now constant. I've seen seen several chiropractors which did not help at all..it actually make my lower back hurt and I ended up in a back brace.
Avatar f tn I have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia recently and I am trying to understand it as its making my life miserable and hell. I have very bad pain in my joints, neck, hands, arms, fingers, toes...basically everywhere.Recently, I started to get very bad headaches that continued for weeks and wont go away. Not sure if this is related to fibromyalgia, but my GP prescribed me a treatment for migraines which didnt help. I cant sleep at all and everyone thinks its in my head.
Avatar f tn I have a hemmoragic ovarian cysts, which is causing intolerable pain; exasperated by Fibromyalgia. Chronic Migraine Headaches; Fibromyalgia. Knee pain and clicking; Fibromyalgia. I feel like finding all new doctors and not disclosing my Fibromyalgia, just so I can get an oppinion not fogged by Fibromyalgia. How do you get a doctor to see beyond the Fibromyalgia, and take other concerns seriously.
Avatar f tn precipitation of head pain by neck movement or awkward neck positions, head pain when external pressure is applied to the neck or occipital region, restricted range of motion of the neck, and neck, shoulder and arm pain. Treatment for cervicogenic headache includes physical therapy, medications, behavioral therapy, and other modalities. Occipital neuralgia is caused by irritation or injury to two nerves that run from the upper neck to the back of the head.
Avatar n tn Use a hard bed with comfortable mattress, avoid pillows, roll a towel and place it under the neck, and do neck and upper back exercises. If you still feel the pain, then you may need EMG, NCV, and MRI of the neck to look for nerve compression. Get your blood pressure checked. See if opening your mouth wide or chewing food aggravates the pain. If yes, then TMJ should be looked into. Also schedule a dental examination.
Avatar f tn He seemed to disregard and ignore my smyptoms and only focussed on my headaches, prescribing me topamax and maxalt and telling me that my chiari is only 5mm and it has nothing to do with my symptoms, its just my fibromyalgia. He added that chiari is something I have had from birth and that it will never get worse so monitoring it is not necessary. Obviously, I am getting a 2nd opinion as this is not consistent with what I have read recently.
Avatar f tn Horrible headaches and most recently blurred vision, muscle pain and limb weakness. Extreme physical exhaustion. Have been in hospital 3 times for chest pain and arm pain thinking I was having a heart attack. Most recent visit excruciating pain under right breast in ribs. He sent me to a rheumatologist because he believes it is fibromyalgia. The rheumatologist is adamantly against diagnosing pts w/fibro. Went back to neur. because the headaches are so intense I am now on a medical leave.
Avatar f tn But last year i went to a Rheumatologist and he told me that my leg pain was hard to desifer, as it was a combination of the discs pressing on the nerves from my neck and low back, but also the burning pain, the muscle pain, the extreme stiffness especially in the morning were all from the fibromyalgia. The pain was so great when i slept, that all night i kept tossing & turning from pain. I did find that packing my legs in dry ice while sleeping at night helped.
Avatar f tn Since I've read a lot about neck pain and headaches...it made sense to me if I had something to support my head it take the pressure off my neck and it might help with the headaches. For a couple of days, I've neck using a few rolled up hand towels until I get to the drug store to buy an actual neck collar. So far...this actually seems to be helping with the headaches. I basically use this when I'm sitting or standing...if you have a long drive it might help to wear one too.
Avatar m tn I get headaches ( behind my eye, on top, or back of my head very small areas with almost crippling peircing pain) very regularly, but i have not notice a link between my headaches and my pain. The pain is most notably triggered by alcohol and it seems to trigger the worst pain. I get the pain without this trigger but its never severe enough to complain about.
Avatar f tn The main thing to keep in mind (and you may have to stress this to your doctor) is that pain knows no age restrictions and fibromyalgia pain is no different. It IS very possible to have fibro even at your young age. If, after your doctor appointment, you don't feel like you are getting satisfactory care or results, do not hesitate to seek a second opinion, even searching for a rheumatologist.
Avatar f tn I have migraines, three other types of headaches that were diagnosed in addition to migraines, 4 neck discs arthritic and/or bulging and fibromyalgia. I understand pain. I am tired of the pain myself. I wish you well, please don't give up. Listen to your doc and see if your doc will prescribe Suboxone or something similar to lessen your withdrawal symptoms when they occur. Maybe an antidepressant will help if you are not already on one.
