HE PUTS LOUD MUSIC AND MAKES LOUD SOUNDS OF A SHIP HORN AND PUTS THOSE SOUNDS THROUGH A MICROPHONE, WAKES ME UP AND MY HEAD IS POUNDING WITH PAIN. CAN HIS NOISE AFFECT MY FM? CAUSE I GET WORST WHEN HE STRESSES ME OUT WITH THAT AWFUL SOUNDS HE MAKES.
Avatar f tn For the past week or so I've had severe shoulder pain. It's only when I lift my arm and try to turn it to the left at all. (it's my left shoulder) Could I being having a flare up due to the change in weather? I forget and the pain is so bad when it happens I actually cry out. I don't know why I keep forgetting or maybe I'm trying it to see if it still hurts. Is anyone having flare ups right now in the northeast?
Avatar f tn I have Raynauds phenomomen, so my hands get very painful when they get cold and because of the rheumatiod arthritis my joints in my hands get red and hot. You know all the doctors always want to put people on antidepressants for Fibro but I've yet to hear that they work at relieving the pain. I know several people like yourself is on something but they still have pain and the numbing and tingling. Have you been offically diagnosed.
Avatar f tn So my question is, has anyone else had a flare up of symptoms after an EMG and/or nerve conduction test? The nurse (of the neuromuscular specialist) says that there are no side effects from these tests and seemed very doubtful of my reaction. My family doctor, however, feels it threw my nervous system into overdrive. Just curious if anyone else has experienced this. What do I do?
Avatar f tn Have they checked you vit D level? Symptoms of vit D deficiency are: calf muscle & feet pain cramps in feet & legs muscle weakness waddling walk bone pain & weakness fatigue insomnia tingling in extremities diarrhea depression heart palpitations confusion/unorganized I know when the symptoms are flaring, I have to be careful NOT to push myself. Even when I've got a million things on my "to do" list.
Avatar m tn Sorry to say that FM is not curable. But you can get it under control with the right meds. You must find a doc that is well informed on this problem. I have had a flare up since Oct.07 & am still in pain daily. But I have learned how to do what I can & don't over due things or you will end up paying for it for a few days or weeks after. Do not push yourself to get things done as you will suffer for it in the end.
209591 tn?1267414714 Anybody else experiencing a major flare up right now? I have been at the point where I can barely move at times the last few weeks. My PCP pressed on the trigger points, and they were highly sensitive. He said the ones used in movement were the ones most affected. He told me that I needed to stay home, if possibe. He said that my muscles and joints were affected, and gave me a steroid shot. I can barely do anything with this burning.
Avatar f tn My question is could a flare up happen that long after treatment and that long after such an extended period of feeling fine? I do not think I got reinfected either, because I used to live in PA where Lyme disease was very prevalent, but now for the summer I have lived in an area of the country where ticks carrying Lyme is not common at all. I'm planning on seeing the doctor soon, I'm just curious what you guys think.
Avatar f tn Hi there. What do I need to help ease a flare up? Over the last 3 days, I have been experiencing the worst flare up i have ever had. I am taking Lyrica and in the process of trying to get to a higher dose, however, i am in such severe pain, that i am getting ready to start taking hydrocodone because i cannot deal with the pain. i hurt everywhere. some of my muscles are spasming. Aside from laying around and doing nothing, which is not really am option for me, what can i do to help ease back?
Avatar n tn The Epstein Barr seemed to clear up after about 8 months (I felt more energetic). My fibromyalgia is focused in my back, ALL of my back; upper, lower, middle, and both sides. F.Y.I. I also have osteoarthritis and osteopenia(?) and (in case it's relevant) I had whiplash (upper back/neck) in Dec. 1987. Now, my questions are: Do Fibromyalgia patients typically experience 'flare ups'?
709619 tn?1230161475 I use to get a flare once a month and now it's been "flared up" for a year now. The amount of sleep I get, hormones, what I eat, infections, and stress all are factors that can affect the pain.
Avatar f tn I appear to be in quite a flare up - burning in my hip/pelvic area, legs predominantly but also in my spine and arms at times. When I stand, it aggravates it and is so uncomfortable it makes me want to sit right back down. Also, my fatigue is worse, the malar flushing is more often and my legs feel terribly weak. I am also having a harder time urinating - takes a while and I have to concentrate.
Avatar n tn I feel for you. I have fibromyalgia as well, though only one really bad flare-up in the last few years (though it was a very long flare.) I didn't get it until after my last pregnancy and can't imagine dealing with it while pregnant. There is a member here who was on medication with her last pregnancy. Hopefully she'll see your post and respond. Her issue isn't fibromyalgia, but I'm sure she might have some suggestions. Best of luck.
Avatar f tn I have recently been diagnosed with fibromyalgia. I have all the classic symptoms. But one thing I have experienced for a lot of my life is Erythromelalgia. I experience flare ups- I can’t pinpoint what brings it on. My hands get red, hot, itchy and sore. Usually on the palm side and it can travel up into my fingers or down in my wrists. My ears sometimes get inflamed, my scalp along my hairline and behind my ears, and sometimes my knees too. It can last a few hours, to days.
Avatar f tn However a progression is taking place in that the major pain has now moved into my arms, shoulders and hands as well as neck. I also suffer from rheumatoid arthrosis but the flare-up and the quality of life issues are related to the progression of Fibromyalgia,My gastro- intestinal problems are major bloating as well as intestinal problems that started even before the Fibromyalgia took over my life.
648217 tn?1273537754 2 weeks ago I had an open shoulder surgery for dislocation {over 125+} I also have fibromyalgia{but haven't had any flare ups in months before & this doesn't seem like any flare up I had. Since the surgery the pain hasn't lessened by much even on the Vicodin ES I was given which I take with Motrin 800 & Flexeral.
Avatar f tn I burn all over deeper than my skin. Wake up In early morning and everything feels cold then the burning begins, sometimes in waves. A couple years ago diagnosed with Fibro. Had not seen a rheumatologist since then. Saw her today she thinks it's a flare-up but took blood also. Does anyone else experience their Fibro this way? If so, what do you do for comfort?
665881 tn?1248926997 //www.medhelp.org/posts/Fibromyalgia---CFS/Fibromyalgia--Multiple-sclerosis-or-an-ear-disorder/show/982017 I'm sure that your physician will do a follow-up should your symptoms change and become more like MS. Please try not to cause more anxiety for yourself by thinking it's something more serious, as anxiety causes those with FMS to flare. Tingling and numbness is one of the symptoms of fibromyalgia. Is your doctor doing anything to treat this?
17407376 tn?1457020439 Haven't hurt for a while, think I'm having a flare-up if Fibromyalgia.....Not on meds anymore for that.....been so long, even forgot what meds I was taking.....butt cheeks ache & hips hurt, when laying on sides to long....so tired....interrupts sleep at night....have to nap during day...I am 61.
Avatar f tn I know within the USA the National Fibromyalgia Association has a list of doctors who treat Fibromyalgia in each state. You do have to sign up, but the sign up is free. Their website address is: http://www.fmaware.
Avatar m tn Any physical or emotional trauma can cause a flare up of fibromyalgia symptoms. It is best to seek a second opinion and have a discussion on the possible alternatives, especially conservative treatments if possible. In fibromyalgia medicines should always be used along with exercise and behavior therapy. Consult an experienced doctor. I sincerely hope it helps. Best wishes and regards!
Avatar f tn Is pelvic adhesive disease, endometriosis, IC and fibromyalgia related in anyway?
Avatar f tn Fibromyalgia can be caused by trauma, stress, an illness, PTSD, or fever. And yes, it can run in families. Fibromyalgia should be suspected by the pcp when the pt has widespread pain for more than 3 months. There are trigger/tender points in the same places on both sides of the body. Wrists, ankles, neck, shoulders, elbows, buttocks, knees are the most common. Also migraine headaches and stomach issues such as IBS. Muscle spasms are also common.
Avatar m tn Fibromyalgia would be more muscular pain. Look up diagnosing Fibromyalgia- there is 18 specific tender points which are painful in ppl with it and other criteria needed to be diagnosed as Fibro. Does she have inflammation at the joints and increase pain with activity? This might suggest arthritis. I would suggest to keep seeing her doctor and following through with tests. This may take time bc they have to rule things out.
