Avatar n tn Hi there. Emotional and physical triggers can cause a flare in fibromyalgia symptoms. A flare is usually accompanied by constant pain and lethargy. You might find difficulty to sit, stand or lie for even some time. the triggers known are strong emotions like depression and anger or stress, too much exercise, beginning of an illness, cold, damp weather or extreme heat, any stress on body. That noisy neighbor could affect your health indirectly by causing anger or stress in you. Hope this helps.
Avatar f tn I have Raynauds phenomomen, so my hands get very painful when they get cold and because of the rheumatiod arthritis my joints in my hands get red and hot. You know all the doctors always want to put people on antidepressants for Fibro but I've yet to hear that they work at relieving the pain. I know several people like yourself is on something but they still have pain and the numbing and tingling. Have you been offically diagnosed.
Avatar f tn Hi all- I am a 27 year old female suffering from a very severe case of fibromyalgia. It has left me bed ridden for weeks at a time and when the flare ups are bad nothing works. I have prescriptions for morphine and oxycodone but on bad days they don't touch the pain. I can't do massages because the fibro pressure points are too painful to be touched.
Avatar f tn I have recently been showing symptoms of Fibromyalgia and was wondering what helps the Fatigue and flu-like feeling that goes with fibromyalgia?
Avatar m tn My pain is not completely cured, however, it is controlled. Is fibromyalgia is curable disease. What steps I need to take to cure this disease. Really every day my pain continuing. I am so disturbed with this disease. Please help me...please.
Avatar n tn My story is lengthy and I'm just not sure if I should 'spill my guts' yet so I'll be brief in this posting. I'm a 55yr old female, 4'10" (and shrinking) and currently weigh 105lbs. In 2002, I was diagnosed simultaneously with Epstein Barr and Fibromyalgia. The Epstein Barr seemed to clear up after about 8 months (I felt more energetic). My fibromyalgia is focused in my back, ALL of my back; upper, lower, middle, and both sides. F.Y.I.
709619 tn?1230161475 Do people with fibromyalgia experience attacks similar to MS that last for a week or so and then subside with more mild symptoms, or is it a chronic condition? And are the painful areas always sensitive to touch? I've been dealing with something that feels neurological in nature and I'm working with my neurologist on eliminating certain conditions. I have thus far eliminated two conditions that resemble the symptoms I've been dealing with i.e., ALS and B12 deficiency.
Avatar f tn Is pelvic adhesive disease, endometriosis, IC and fibromyalgia related in anyway?
Avatar n tn I feel for you. I have fibromyalgia as well, though only one really bad flare-up in the last few years (though it was a very long flare.) I didn't get it until after my last pregnancy and can't imagine dealing with it while pregnant. There is a member here who was on medication with her last pregnancy. Hopefully she'll see your post and respond. Her issue isn't fibromyalgia, but I'm sure she might have some suggestions. Best of luck.
Avatar f tn Hi, I have fibromyalgia and have had bursitis in both shoulders which were treated with injections, I’ve recently had a flare up of my fibro and now seem to be left with upper arm pain and fatigue and I’m also finding if I don’t sit with my neck supported, I get a lot of pain and tiredness. I’m wondering if this pain is my fibromyalgia or could it be something else. I have upped my gabapentin to 300mg twice a day.
Avatar f tn I have recently been diagnosed with fibromyalgia. I have all the classic symptoms. But one thing I have experienced for a lot of my life is Erythromelalgia. I experience flare ups- I can’t pinpoint what brings it on. My hands get red, hot, itchy and sore. Usually on the palm side and it can travel up into my fingers or down in my wrists. My ears sometimes get inflamed, my scalp along my hairline and behind my ears, and sometimes my knees too. It can last a few hours, to days.
648217 tn?1273537754 2 weeks ago I had an open shoulder surgery for dislocation {over 125+} I also have fibromyalgia{but haven't had any flare ups in months before & this doesn't seem like any flare up I had. Since the surgery the pain hasn't lessened by much even on the Vicodin ES I was given which I take with Motrin 800 & Flexeral.
Avatar f tn I also have severe shoulder pain, worse in my left than in my right, and fibromyalgia. The pain is from the fibromyalgia. If it continues to bother you, I would ask your doctor to check it to rule out injury. Don't rely on diagnosis on here, as many people do not understand fibromyalgia and all of the associated symptoms.
665881 tn?1248926997 //www.medhelp.org/posts/Fibromyalgia---CFS/Fibromyalgia--Multiple-sclerosis-or-an-ear-disorder/show/982017 I'm sure that your physician will do a follow-up should your symptoms change and become more like MS. Please try not to cause more anxiety for yourself by thinking it's something more serious, as anxiety causes those with FMS to flare. Tingling and numbness is one of the symptoms of fibromyalgia. Is your doctor doing anything to treat this?
192368 tn?1224204130 I have been told that Fibromyalgia doesn't "get worse" as time goes on, but you have flare-ups. So if I am getting much worse than say a year ago--could it be something else? I was at least able to work a year ago, and now I am almost needing assistance. (with every day tasks, and sometimes walking even.) I guess I am just irritated and feel that none of my doctors are actually listening to me. They always say, "you look good".
Avatar m tn Any physical or emotional trauma can cause a flare up of fibromyalgia symptoms. It is best to seek a second opinion and have a discussion on the possible alternatives, especially conservative treatments if possible. In fibromyalgia medicines should always be used along with exercise and behavior therapy. Consult an experienced doctor. I sincerely hope it helps. Best wishes and regards!
Avatar f tn t know if it is from anxiety or fibromyalgia or both. Started in the back of my neck and after hurting my back and surgery it is now all over?
Avatar f tn I burn all over deeper than my skin. Wake up In early morning and everything feels cold then the burning begins, sometimes in waves. A couple years ago diagnosed with Fibro. Had not seen a rheumatologist since then. Saw her today she thinks it's a flare-up but took blood also. Does anyone else experience their Fibro this way? If so, what do you do for comfort?
17407376 tn?1457020439 Haven't hurt for a while, think I'm having a flare-up if Fibromyalgia.....Not on meds anymore for that.....been so long, even forgot what meds I was taking.....butt cheeks ache & hips hurt, when laying on sides to long....so tired....interrupts sleep at night....have to nap during day...I am 61.
Avatar f tn Fibromyalgia can be caused by trauma, stress, an illness, PTSD, or fever. And yes, it can run in families. Fibromyalgia should be suspected by the pcp when the pt has widespread pain for more than 3 months. There are trigger/tender points in the same places on both sides of the body. Wrists, ankles, neck, shoulders, elbows, buttocks, knees are the most common. Also migraine headaches and stomach issues such as IBS. Muscle spasms are also common.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and Sjogren's Syndrome about 15-16 years ago. I have dealt with that the best I have been able too. The flare ups and all that. But, about a month ago I had what I thought was going to be a fibro flare up but it never went away. My doctor tested me for EBV and said I was positive and that was it. I have been trying to get him to return my messages and the earliest appointment I can get is in April.
Avatar f tn I know within the USA the National Fibromyalgia Association has a list of doctors who treat Fibromyalgia in each state. You do have to sign up, but the sign up is free. Their website address is: http://www.fmaware.
Avatar f tn I have fibromyalgia and a few days ago I thought I was having an intense flare. Terrible body pain. I took my fever and it was a little over 100F. It climbed to 102.6 by yesterday evening. I took a tylenol and this morning it had plunged to 96.6F. I had severe chills. Today it climbed back to over 102F and it's now coming down again with tylenol. I have no sore throat, sniffles, congestion, nausea.
Avatar m tn Fibromyalgia would be more muscular pain. Look up diagnosing Fibromyalgia- there is 18 specific tender points which are painful in ppl with it and other criteria needed to be diagnosed as Fibro. Does she have inflammation at the joints and increase pain with activity? This might suggest arthritis. I would suggest to keep seeing her doctor and following through with tests. This may take time bc they have to rule things out.
Avatar m tn I am in constant pain but when I experience a flare up of my fibromyalgia; it intensifies the pain ten fold. I wish you luck and in the absence of medication I would try to take ibuprofen. Good luck.
