fibromyalgia

2010625 tn?1329372056 I was just wondering what causes Fibromyalgia? Can Anxiety, Depression/Bipolar, IBS, or Genital Herpes cause it?
7450908 tn?1390996321 I was diagnosed with fibro about 18 years ago. I've been using Lyrica & was using Cymbalta for a while as well. I quit using the antidepressant because it seemed to make the depression worse. I'm on low income & I'm telling this medication is getting so expensive that I have a hard time affording to buy just a months worth at taking one a day. At certain times of the year I have to take more than one a day. Is there a more natural way to deal with fibro?
Avatar m tn Hi, I hope you get more responses because I'd like to know the same thing. I really don't thing they cause Alzheimer's or Dementia but memory loss can be quite varied in degree. I've been on Xanax .5mg for anxiety, agitation, depression for about 2 years. About 6 months ago I've found that my memory is profound compounded by disorientation. Like you, I lose things break china and glassware regularly. Don't know the day of the week the date and even the time of day.
1075109 tn?1281835691 I already take one as a mood stabiliser and I have ensured that the 2 do not clash but as it stands now Fibromyalgia causes depression and sleep problems which kicks my Bipolar into high gear and causes Anxiety which in turn agravates the Fibromyalgia. Vicious Circle. Thank you for your reply but it was definately in the wrong direction. Sue.
653169 tn?1303446369 I think I will try to go back on it since my depression causes me to be lower functioning which in turn causes me more depression. So, the added energy would really help and I do have a refill of low dose xanax that I could use to combat the increased anxiety that I usually get initially.
Avatar f tn I have just recently started taking Vitamin D supplements (50,000 iu once/week for three months, plus 2000 iu daily) since my Dr found my levels were very low. About a month after I started taking the Vit D supplements, I found that many of the depression symptoms (SAD, lack of concentration, fatigue) I have suffered with for years have disappeared. I feel better than I have in years.

Avatar f tn I suffer from anxiety and depression. More anxiety then depression (I think), I've had it all of my life and I could always pretty much control it,up till about 12 years a ago. I've seen countless drs and therapist and have not gotten much help. I have uncontrollable feelings of panic, fear, and excessive worry ALL the time. I also have no energy, not even to shower or do "everyday" things that normal people don't even think about.
Avatar m tn Magnesium deficiency causes tremors, high blood pressure, fatigue, depression, mimics fibromyalgia. Interesting to note is magnesium deficiency is associated with secondary Raynauds. Vitamin D deficiency symptoms include bone and muscle pain, depression, fatigue, high blood pressure, and also mimic fibromyalgia. A highly significant association exists between celiac disease and autoimmune thyroiditis (Graves' disease and Hashimoto's Thyroiditis).
Avatar n tn It could be depression or a virus. It could also be something like fibromyalgia. Check the fibro board and see if the symptoms fit. I have this disease and frequently feel this way. Do you have specific areas of pain or just general aches?
Avatar n tn Is TMJD linked to other diseases? Are there other underlying causes? Is there any relation to Chondromalatia, camtodactyly and pericarditis?
451366 tn?1211304932 Lyrica has been used for depression according to items I have read. But, it also says that it causes anxiety attacks, panic attacks and suicidal thoughts. If that's not related to depression, what is? I've been to other forums, but I was wondering if anyone here had anything else to offer.
1692515 tn?1306270048 t think doctors really know all of the causes for Fibromyalgia. Anything is possible. Very likely, as with me, you have had vitamin D deficiency, too. That was one of the reasons I was finally diagnosed myself. Since I know vitamin D deficiency has been noted as a root cause for why some people get Parkinsons, then I know vitamin D is important for neurological function. Also, be sure to have your vitamin B 12 tested.
Avatar f tn I do have fibromyalgia but the pain didn't feel like this until the last couple of months. I seem to be getting weaker, more joint pain and the deep prickly pain. Can't bare to stay in bed in the morning because it hurts to just lay there.
Avatar n tn I am only 25 and have all the symptoms of fibromyalgia, CFS and MCS. I am unable to get out of bed some days but because of my young age my doctor is not seeming to take me seriously. He tests my thyroid and iron levels and many other things, but has not sent me to a fibromyalgia specialists. Also I have not been able to get disability cheques, so I am on government assistance:(. Does anybody more experienced have any advice for me? This can be quite stressful.
Avatar f tn Zyprexa is an anti-psychotic and can be used as an adjunct treatment (along with an antidepressant) in treatment of depression and anxiety that hasn't responded well to just an antidepressant. Again, just in my humble opinion, I think there are better options out there, especially to START with. Have you tried any other medication? Therapy? How long have you had anxiety issues? Have you been officially diagnosed with an anxiety disorder, preferrably by a psychiatrist?
997519 tn?1251239849 I have been through some tramatic events like the symptoms say because i have a chemical embalance i guess that causes me to have thoughts that tourture me. I get depressed too. I took Ibuprofen everyday and it stoped.

Avatar n tn My psychiatrist suggested that Cytomel may help some with depression and also with the tiredness and sleepiness I have had for years.I went to internet and read about hypothyroidism and how it often is undiagnosed due to normal blood test. Well I was uneasy about the Cytomel at first but when i saw how many of the symptoms of hypothyroidism I have I wondered if that isn't my problem. I have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia also and wondered if that has anything to do with the thyroid.
Avatar m tn The causes can be genetic, brain damage or medical disorders such as clinical depression, uremia and fibromyalgia. Sometimes hypersomnia may be other sleep disorders such as narcolepsy, sleep apnea, and restless leg syndrome. Your symptoms may be linked to depression.
