fibromyalgia

1373852 tn?1307843048 Since no one knows what fibromyalgia is, let alone what causes it, it's impossible to say. Antibiotics, however, destroy the good bacteria in the intestinal tract, and many in the natural med world believe overuse of antibiotics, even when necessary, is one cause of fibromyalgia. Food intolerances are also felt to be culprits. Sleep deprivation or bad sleep is felt to be a potential cause. Or maybe these are catalysts, rather than pure causes.
2010625 tn?1329372056 I was just wondering what causes Fibromyalgia? Can Anxiety, Depression/Bipolar, IBS, or Genital Herpes cause it?

Avatar f tn because i am not on meds i have learned what triggers my asthma or my anxiety. whatever you choose do it now. if you do have asthma and anxiety you need to be very careful. anxiety attacks can lead to asthma attacks making your anxiety worse. good luck and hope everything goes well!
Avatar f tn You need to undergo radio imaging (MRI/CT) and as well as ECG (cardiac causes) to rule out the above causes. Pain killers and dabbing hot bag will help you. Along with that your asthma should be well controlled. I suggest you to consult physician and get evaluated. Take care and regards.
Avatar f tn My primary care doctor just treats symptoms and blames them on allergies and asthma. I disagree. I know how my body feels with allergies and asthma attacks and this isn't it. My allergist / immunologist thinks an autoimmune disease may be possible. My pulmonologist last year thought I might have some form of vasculitis (possibly Wegener's Granulomatosis or Churg-Strauss Syndrome) but wanted to rule out sinus and allergy concerns. I've been to an ENT and back to my allergist.
997519 tn?1251239849 I have been through some tramatic events like the symptoms say because i have a chemical embalance i guess that causes me to have thoughts that tourture me. I get depressed too. I took Ibuprofen everyday and it stoped.
7450908 tn?1390996321 I was diagnosed with fibro about 18 years ago. I've been using Lyrica & was using Cymbalta for a while as well. I quit using the antidepressant because it seemed to make the depression worse. I'm on low income & I'm telling this medication is getting so expensive that I have a hard time affording to buy just a months worth at taking one a day. At certain times of the year I have to take more than one a day. Is there a more natural way to deal with fibro?
Avatar f tn One reason is that the genetic code that produces asthma causes a heightened presence of Th2 (t helper 2) immunity, which provides advantages in controling tumors, malignant and benign. One ref is Cancer Causes E-pub June 19th 2012 and Aug 23 (8) pages 1317-22.
Avatar f tn I does sound like asthma is a possibility. A chest x-ray is useless in diagnosing asthma. It can show trapped air that may be indicative of asthma, but other conditions result in trapped air as well. Feel better and God bless.
Avatar m tn It could be many things. I have IBS, anxiety, asthma, neck issues, PVC, an enlarged left ventricle and fibro. I have be very careful when I have persistent chest pain and begin by addressing each of the above to see if I can stop or control the symptom which may be causing my chest pain. HOWEVER, If this is new to you plz go to the doctor ASAP.

168348 tn?1379357075 fibromyalgia and hypothyroid The doc thinks that as I went through menopause the hypo started which kicked the allergies (esp. chemical sensitivities) into high gear.
Avatar m tn The way the pain is roaming around makes me wonder about fibromyalgia. I believe brain fog is a symptom of it (I have 2 siblings who have it). But the disorientation and dizziness... did they run any blood work? Is the pain very localized each time? Totally conjecturing here, but could it be a blood clot moving around? The tests the doctor is sending her for- do they include a brain scan? Did they check to see if she was getting sufficient oxygenation to her body?
865406 tn?1240128030 Hi, Has your doctor prescribed any meds for you ? I'm not a doctor, but find that if my albuterol inhaler helps, then it's due to asthma or asthma like inflammation. I'm sure Tammy will also respond a bit later when she reads your post. Could it have been allergic reaction to something on the trip? Something around you, you touched or ate? Just a thought.
Avatar f tn I have one daughter with asthma and another daughter who has a bleeding disorder, kidney problems and heart problems requiring a heart transplant. I am almost certain she also has Fibro.
Avatar n tn Fibromyalgia can last forever. There are treatments and even possible cures out there (research protocols). Fatigue, dizziness and so many other symptoms are common in fibro patients and in fact, 29% of fibro patients have a positive ANA titer. I hope that you will consider joining us on MedHelp's fibro/CFS board. I'm the Community Leader there.
Avatar n tn How do I safely discontinue oxycontin use without causing myself to have another flareup of fibromyalgia? I believe my condition is now to the point where I can relieve the pain with non-narcotic pain relievers but I'm afraid that coming off of opiates after having been on them continuously for 8 years now will just cause me to go into another flareup. How will I know the difference between a fibromyalgia flareup and the pain and fatigue of withdrawal?
Avatar f tn //www.drugs.com/hcg.html drugs.com is a reputible site for information regarding medications. This information page is for woman using the medication to stimulate ovulation. It tells them to alergy their doctor if the have asthma. It also says that one of the side effects is shortness of breath. I hope that helps you. My thoughts are that it is triggering your asthma. You should be careful with it. Have a blessed evening.
Avatar n tn I have severe asthma AND VCD. I was recently started on CPAP for a mild case of sleep apnea. I hate it! I can't breathe with the machine on and it gives me headaches. I'm not sleeping any better with it than I was without it. I'm still waking up at least once per night needing to do a neb treatment. I also have fibromyalgia and PD, so I'm up several times per night due to pain, which the CPAP doesn't help.
