369533 tn?1207588462 Hopefully your tests will come back negative for any other illness and you can then begin getting together a plan for your fibromyalgia symptoms. There are medications they can give that may help with your pain and fatigue. Best wishes and good luck.
Avatar f tn I have fibromyalgia and I have trouble sleeping, my doctor gave me Trazodone. I haven't tried it yet though. I was wondering has anybody else ever tried this medicine for sleep and does it work??
Avatar f tn I feel the fibromyalgia to. My remedies include icy hot/ ice packs/ exercise ball/ & stretching. That's all we can do, it helps a bit. Only 5 more weeks! Feel better soon!
Avatar m tn t sit here and do nothing, back in 2006 I did go to my then manager and said that 3 of us had all been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, and if we could have a air quality test, she wasn't real thrilled with me asking that, and wanted to know the names of the other 2 people, (which it wasn't my place to give them to her), but they did give me permission to say there were 2 other people with this dx.
735919 tn?1236444549 Lyrica is not an antidepressant and it personally did not work for me, but everyone is different. It is a shame your insurance co. won't cover Cymbalta when it is working. Isn't there something your doctor can do to have the insurance co. cover this medication? I would call the insurance co. and see if there is anyway around this.
Avatar f tn s important to remember, though, that everyone is different, so what may work for someone else with fibro may not work for you and vice versa. Sometimes it is a lot of trial and error between you and your doctor to determine the right combination of meds/therapies, etc. for you. Best of luck!
Avatar f tn Hey Suzy. Welcome to the forum. Oxycodone @ 10mg injected will produce the SAME results as morphine for most people. I'm mentioning this to point out that these types of drugs are opioid drugs, potentially habit forming narcotic drugs. The fact that they are prescribed legally, does not make them any less dangerous than street drugs, other than the fact that their "quality" and strength are consistent with what they claim.
Avatar n tn My cocktail was a daily dose of 16 aspirin, Mobic, antidepessants for pain, valium, and a few other things, and that cocktail still didnt work for me. Let me know if you find one.

10222464 tn?1408714548 i sometime have a kind of dull pain that comes over my body from the neck down it last for around a half hour could that be Fibromyalgia can it show in blood work i am 43 i get chest pain also
1488606 tn?1288192638 I am on disability, but not totally because of my fibro - I also have other health issues and other chronic pain issues. Getting approved for disability for ANYTHING is a long and tedious process and can sometimes take years. If/when you decide to apply for disability, the more medical information/back-up you can provide about your condition/s and how they limit your life and ability to work, the better off you'll be.
Avatar n tn I have saver headaches, jaw pain , and TMJ. I take Lyrica and it helps most times. I find that I need to increase the Lyrica medication very often. I take a large amount of Magnisium because my left part of my face is tight and hard to open. MY question is, I do not understand my pain, Do my pain originate in my jaw or my head? In the past I had symptoms of Try mingle Neuralgia. Could that contribute to my facial pain? Why does the Lyrica wont work all the time?
Avatar f tn About 4 years ago, began having problems with dry mouth and throat and globus. Blood work and 2 biopsies negative for Sjorgens. It gets progressively worse and now I have problems with thick phlegm they can't figure out either. I have had burning pain on one side of my back, kind of like Shingles, no rash. They can't figure that out either. Fibro was mentioned but I know that isn't it.
Avatar f tn Iam a mother with 2 young children and I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia 4 years ago. Since then I have been suffering with extreme pain that never lets up. I am curious if anyone else has ideas on which medicines work better for pain. I also suffer from depression and anxiety issues. I also have difficulty sleeping, I feel so alone, because neither my family or friends understand my problems. They think I do not really have medical problems. I appreciate if anyone replies!
1692515 tn?1306270048 I have been told my mother that at 2 years old I put a bobbie pin in an electrical outlet and she had to get a mop to dislodge me. My question is could my fibromyalgia, reoccuring shingles, and electric shock feeling be caused by this and what can be done to stop it.
4861077 tn?1360156139 If you work and have a repetitive job, your hand and wrist problems may be because of that. Your doctor will be able to check out your hands and determine whether nerve conduction tests would be appropriate to find out if there is any carpal tunnel problems. Do wear support wrist straps to help to rest your hand and wrist and wear these when you go to bed to hep support the hand and wrist.
Avatar f tn I have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, all that my doctor tells me to do is Exercise, and it's not working ( I don't really think she knows about Fibromyalgia). Avatar n tn I got to spend a short time in Florida the last 2 winters and I found it very agreeable. My husband and I plan to spend 3 months in Florida this winter. I don't know if summer in Florida would be good for me, since really hot weather and high humidity bother me as well.
Avatar f tn The doctor just put me on prescription does of vitamin D for 8 weeks and later diagnosed me with Fibromyalgia because of my muscle aches and spasms. I am wondering now if my cysts are affecting both my thyroid and parathyroid glands. The doctors try to tell me it's all anxiety or fibro., but I know it isn't and I haven't had these cysts looked at for about 6 months now. I am trying to get into see an Endocrinologist.
Avatar f tn I was just diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, I have some osteoarthritis and have had a hip replacement 4 yrs ago, in the last year I have becomed very fatigued, muscle pain especially in arms, shoulder area, hands and feet, I have very little energy to go to gym anymore, I heard that 50% of people with fibromyalgia also have low thyroid, even though my thyroid test shows normal, could thyroid medication help?
Avatar f tn I'm right with you.
Evillady When I had troubles with swallowing, they did an ultrasound on my thyroid and blood tests too. Found that my thyroid level was too low and put me in meds and it made it better. On a less pleasant note, my friend had the same issue, had the same testing (she's 23) and found stage 4 thyroid cancer. I suggest getting checked out soon. I never mess around with that stuff.
